Food is decent. A little pricey. Fair portions. The reason why I gave it a one star, their customer service. They hire the worse people at the front. I feel I have to kiss ass whenever I have to pick up the food that I paid for in full. Last time I ordered out, I was in a rush cause I had my severe autistic child with me that I forgot to check the bag of food before I left. They forgot to put the hummus that I paid for. The is place has really good fresh food!!! Lentil soup and bread is excellent. My fiancé loves he falafel and my dad loved the grilled lamb. At first glance of the place I wasn't sure (mini mall) but it really does have a great menu. read more

Absolute gem of Montclair! This cute little cafe is located across the way from Montclair mall. It's definitely hidden, but is a must try. The food is healthy, decently priced (-$10), and sooo mouthwateringly delicious! I've been here 5 times so far and unfortunately I've moved, but I would drive 40 mins just to get this...I always get the chicken souvlaka which is a lemon grilled chicken with tzatziki sauce, and 2 sides (I always get their perfectly season rice pilaf & hummus). It also comes with fresh, warm pita bread. Try upgrading to the garlic pita for 50 cents! Not everyone knows about it, but now you do (: My friend bounces around from their menu and I've never, not even once been disappointed. I never understood why they weren't packed, as it's a small place. I personally always order togo since I lived nearby. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed ! read more

Nice little hidden gem in Montclair. I was moving and couldn't cook for 2 weeks and was getting really tired of the same food. I wanted something fresh and not too heavy. This is hands-down my favorite Greek restaurant in the whole world. Their classic Theos Greek salad is literally to die for. There is no other dressing out there quite like this Greek dressing. We often visit this place every time we crave for Mediterranean dish. My grand daughter love their pita bread and hummus, while my special favorite is the Chicken Souvlaki with salad and pita bread on the sides. I learned to eat Baba Ganoush in here and loved it much that I tried preparing it at home. The place is a bit small which is not good for groups but its clean and service is fast and good. read more

I'm rating their gyro sandwiches, they have lettuce which hides some of the gyro taste(I'd rather have a salad on the side) and what's weird is they have cucumber pickles which does not make the gyros better and I really like pickles(also would be better on the side). Excellent dinner last night. Cafe Moderno has a nice clean layout, very reasonably priced too. We ordered two beers, a chicken wrap, steak wrap, moderno Greek salad, lentil soup, hummus and two whipped cream topped hot chocolates. Everything was delicious. Our server was very efficient and friendly. We found a new spot we can't wait to go back to. Total price- $33. Yep! We both agreed our next visit will be take out- it beats any fast food spot you could think of. The chicken was flavorful, juicy and tender. The steak as well. Visited Cafe Moderno yesterday (Sunday September 1) on my lunch hour. The food was SO good! I ordered the chicken kabob plate that comes with two sides and pita bread. I got hummus and fattoush salad as my sides. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the hummus was earthy and yummy! Will def return! read more
