I eat at Cafe O Deli regularly. Great food for extremely low prices - my absolute favorites are the club and the breakfast croissant (add avocado to both!). If you work in the area or are just looking for quality food at a low price - go to Cafe O. It is located on the first floor of an office building and there is plenty of available parking. The owner is in day in and day out, and is an extremely nice guy. His employees follow suit - great customer service! read more

Great go-to deli near my office (so convenient). The food is always fresh and consistent. Great sandwiches and smoothies! My favorites are the Tuna Salad and the California Sub (as a wrap). Great place to order for last minute lunch meetings with delivery. However, keep an eye on exactly how much you are being charged. We were being overcharged, we wouldn't get all our change back if we paid with cash. If paid with a credit card, the amount was always more once the transaction went through. We are located less than a mile away but for meetings, delivery is our only option. Tips were given to them yet they'd add more than we had approved. When we called to complain about being overcharged, they simply justified that it was their tip mind you, they already had been tipped. We were paying more in tips then in food. It is unfortunate but we don't trust them and will no longer be ordering from this place. read more

I am appalled at the rude interaction I just had over the phone with this place. First off it says they are open until 3:30, and they deliver. I know for a fact they deliver for an $8 minimum because girls in my office order from here all the time. I called around 1pm and no one picked up. I called 2 more times and no one picked up. Finally on the fourth call someone picked up. I asked if I could place an order for delivery. I couldn't even understand the person who answered the phone. He starts yelling at me asking how many sandwiches. I told him I had one order. He kept saying goodbye and trying to hang up on me. I told him I was told they do delivery for an $8 minimum. He said "NO. GOODBYE." And hung up on me!!!! Are you kidding me? I work down the street and would have been a weekly customer but forget about it. these people are not getting my money. Good Prices, Decent food quality. I've eaten there over two dozen times, always get the same thing, and I'm always asked if I want mayo and tomatoes (gross!). Get to know your customers and try to keep them happy! read more

Great cafe to visit before work or during a lunch break. They offer a variety of soups, sandwiches and salads. If you're unsure of what to order they also have daily specials. Loyalty program: Buy 12 sandwiches or salads and get one free. Staff is also very nice! read more

Great food, great prices. I had the Vegetarian sandwich and it was only $5.50 and very filling. Doesn't come with chips or a drink, but the sandwich itself really, really good. I got talking to the owner for a while and he is a really nice guy, gave me a few pointers since I'm new in town. read more

By my office and good for a quick last minute lunch. I like their California sub and the chicken salad sandwich. I love soup, but they only have vegetable (which I just tried and was not impressed) and chili. The price is more than subway and the ingredients aren't anything special. Again this place is ok for needing something quick and within walking distance to my office, but I wouldn't crave this place. read more

This place is the one that made me sign up for Yelp. Congratulations, Cafe O Deli (or as I will call it from now on, cafe NO deli)! The sandwiches might be good. I don't know - I threw mine away while my head was clouded over with principled disgust. First time visitor. Really felt like a grilled sandwich. Asked the yuong woman behind the counter what kind of panini sandwiches they had (menu just says "panini"). She told me all of their sandwiches could be made into a panini. Being my first time, I asked her what she thought would make the "most delicious" panini. She told me I should get the panini version of their mediteranian chicken sandwich, with tomato, pesto, chicken... sounded good. She asked me what sort of bread, and I asked if it was possible to get sourdough with some butter spread on it before it went into the press. She said sure. I got a drink, she took my money, and handed me my order number 46. The order was placed to go. After a bit, a woman came out and handed me a white bag, folded closed along the top. Drove back to the office after running an errand, sat down, got situated, and opened the bag, which, alas, contained no panini, but rather, what I gather was a normal med. chicken sandwich on cold, soft sourdough bread. I don't know about you, but few things disappoint me more than when I'm really looking forward to eating something, and then it turns out to be something else. I called Cafe No Deli and a gentleman (who I presumed, when I was there, to be the owner) answered the phone. I let him know that I ordered a panini sandwich, but that I got a regular sandwich. I expected he would offer to comp a panini next time (seemed like a sensible expectation - maybe not?). instead, there was silence. I said "hello" a couple times to see if anyone was still there, and finally he answered that the med chicken does not come as a panini, "only on a roll." When I tried to tell him what I was told by his cashier when placing my order, he kept interrupting me saying "only on a roll, med chicken only comes on a roll." I could see this was not getting anywhere, so I asked if he could give me a credit or something, so next time I could get a sandwich as ordered, and he said no, again insisting that the sandwich cannot be a panini. I was at this point getting upset, and he was, too, and I finally just told him it was okay, and that I'd just never go back. I'm sure he was happy to hear it. He hung up on me, and I was left alone, staring at soft white sourdough turning green before my eyes as it continued soaking up pesto sauce. I couldn't eat it. The soft bread was like wonderbread against my fingers. I tried taking a bite but it tasted of my disgust with the establishment and its management, and it tasted FOUL. I threw that would-be panini in the trash with enough vigour to knock the bin over, and hope never to go there again. You win, Cafe No Deli. Thanks for nothing. read more

I stopped going to O'Deli a few months back due to the lack of customer service and wrong orders I was given. This morning I decided to give it one more chance and order breakfast. My coworker ordered for us and said over the phone "2 breakfast croissant sandwiches and 1 muffin." They delivered the food and shortly after we realized that they had given us 1 croissant sandwich and 1 small Styrofoam cup of eggs and bacon. We immediately called and figured they would apologize and correct their mistake. I was met with attitude and defensiveness from the owner who said that we ordered a bowl. On top of all of this, we were charged almost double for the muffin and I was also charged for 2 croissant sandwiches. When I told him this, he said it is the same price. So I was charged $4.31 for a small bowl of eggs and bacon. He continued to argue with me back and forth with not a single apology. I decided it was not worth it and hung up. I would not be writing this if it wasn't the first time something like this happened. They overcharge, do not consistently deliver food correctly and are often rude. Not impressed with this place at all. The food is mediocre, and if it comes up in conversation, everyone will surely pass on it. They run out of things alot, sometimes the tea is empty, and they take a while to make the food. We ordered a medium-sized order for breakfast and it took them about 45 minutes to deliver it in the same business plaza. Definitely would have been faster to walk over and get it ourselves. Overall, I just don't feel like this place is fresh and delicious. They don't have anything unique - everything is just plain and boring. I'd rather go a little farther to get better food, and better customer service. I don't have anything against the people that work in there, but I feel like they don't understand English enough, either. Calling to place a medium/large lunch order can get confusing sometimes. It's not all the time, but there is a language barrier sometimes, which, on top of all the negative stuff, can get frustrating and make me not want to go there anymore. read more

I would rate them ZERO stars if I could. They are overly expensive for pretty sub par food. They are rude and act like you are supposed to give them business. I will never eat here again, I tried so many times to just cut them a break or justify it with the fact that nothing else is close by. I get to do the second review for this place in 3 years. Another hidden place. You'll never find it, even GPS can't locate this place very well. It's in the downstairs of one of those typical Irvine multi-story office buildings, with the faux marble tiles and brass and glass doors, etc. The customers mostly arrive from the building, wearing suits and ties. There are handfuls of regular employees with their shirt sleeves rolled up, and spiked hairdos. I found out about this place by following the delivery truck as they do most of their business catering (free delivery). They have been catering lunches at my office for decades, but this is the first time I visited their establishment. I had the O!riginal Club sandwich. I could only eat 3/4 of it. It was very good. I had it with a large Arizona Green Tea with honey. My bill was just $8.95. I saw they had three soups, and also expresso, and iced coffees. If you really look for this place, you will like the nice surroundings. You'll feel like an executive. LOL read more

Cafe O Deli is a clean, convenient place to get a quick, reasonably priced deli order filled by friendly staff. Today, I ordered a 1/2 tuna salad sandwich on squaw bread with the lunch salad (iceberg lettuce, carrot sticks, celery sticks, cucumber slices, tomato wedges, green pepper slices,with hints of cabbage, red onion and favorite dressing on the side) and a small fountain drink. The food was fresh and tasty, promptly provided, and the total cost with tax was $8.55. That's about as good as it gets for an office lunch, which is why I visit often. read more

This is another place I tried during lunch at work. It's a little bit hidden, but it's a nice place. The staff is very nice and friendly. The cookies there are good and the prices are reasonable. The food itself is also good. I got a turkey, ham and swiss sandwich on squaw (half sandwich) with potato bacon soup. The soup was good and the sandwich was as well. It was the right amount of food. This place has mediocre food AT BEST. The best thing about them is that they are convenient. They are the most unprofessional business i have dealt with in a long time, maybe ever. The guy (im assuming owner) who delivers food. gives himself whatever tip he feels you deserve and then doesn't speak english well enough or at all for you to refute it. What really pushed me over the edge was a couple days ago when i placed an order for delivery over the phone. He did not mention anything about his credit card machine not working or that it was "lost" until he got to our office. He the proceeded to WRITE DOWN my card number. When i asked him what he was doing he THEN told me the machine was broken. I tried to tell him i didn't feel comfortable with him writing my card down and he shrugged his shoulders and laughed. Finally, i gave up trying to argue with someone who couldn't understand me and let it go. NOW he is coming BACK to my office when i did not order anything saying that he now needs to swipe my card even though he is still in possession of my card number. I will not be giving him my card to swipe and he can consider it a loss at this point. This is extremely unprofessional and i will not be ordering from them ever again. read more
