What a treat to visit this restaurant each time we're in Myrtle Beach. All the dishes are very tasty and well portioned. I recently had the Munich Sampler or Munich Plate: three different sausages (wursts) with potatoes and warm red cabbage. It was a plate of rich flavors and wonderful texture, wow. I tried the Paulaner Hefeweizen and it was a great paring for dinner. I wrapped it up with the German Chocolate Cake. The dinner was really quite enjoyable and delicious. The live music added so much ambiance and fun to dinner. Our table of four thoroughly enjoyed it all. All the others at the table tried the Wiener schnitzel and raved about it. The spatzle was on point as well. I definitely recommend Cafe Old Vienna and look forward to at least one meal there when I'm in Myrtle. read more

If they were better with covid19 protections there would be more stars. The wait staff was not wearing their mask correctly and continued to touch their masks and everything else, cross contaminating. The seating is not all spaced out outside and inside people are right next to one another. However, the food is delicious. It is not possible to find authentic tasting German food in the area. The sauerbraten was delicious and the spätzle was a good texture. Everything was cooked to perfection. HAppy Hour 4-7 weekdays (unsure Saturday/Closed Sundays). Great beers at $4 a pint. Tried Sausage Sampler (5 Stars), Pork Belly, Schnitzel Bites, Fried Mushrooms (4 Stars), Apple Strudel (4-5 Stars). The Garlic Creme Sauce is amazing! Bread and Pretzels are great! Great atmosphere, value and service. First time going to Cafe Vienna. We did not have reservations, but they were accomodating and could squeeze us in. Ordered the Sauerbraten and my wife ordered Wienerschnitzel. The Sauerbraten was very good, but I think the Wienerschitzel was even better. The house vinegarette on my salad was excellent. We also had desserts to go since the food was filling. Oh man, this place is a gem. Definitely call for reservations as they are only open limited hours. We got the escargot to start and the German feast for 2. Service was a little slow to start because their POS system crashed. Everything we ate was fantastic. The bread basket was perfect to soak up the garlic and butter from the escargot. The German feast for 2 was plenty of food for AT LEAST two people. We took home leftovers. For dessert we tried the sachertorte and the apple streudel. I liked the sachertorte more because I am a chocolate fan, but the streudel was huge and dense and bursting with filling. I will make this place a must stop every time I go to myrtle. read more

I haven't had good German food since I lived in Tampa, so I was very excited to try Old Vienna after viewing the pictures and seeing the reviews. We arrived on a Friday night and were seated right away near the bar without a reservation! The service was somewhat slow but it was pretty crowded with large groups at several tables. We loved hearing the German music and looking around at all the details! I ordered the lavender martini which was crazy strong! I didn't taste the lavender but it was a drink that will knock you off your socks! I ordered the Sauerbraten dinner plate that came with Spaetzle with Gravy & Pierogis. The braten was delicious and soft! I prefer my pierogis fried, but I believe they were steamed. They were not my favorite but they didn't have a bad flavor. My boyfriend ordered the German Feast for two which was the better meal because of the bratwurst. They were so juicy and flavorful! Since service was rolling pretty slow we got to sit and enjoy Joe playing his accordion. He looked so happy and some customers were even dancing! It made our night! First upon calling and being put on hold for 5 minutes, then getting there and standing in the doorway for another 5 before service gave me some cause for concern, but once seated my concerns were all allayed. The live music was excellent, the beer was excellent and the food? You guessed it, excellent. Our server was very apologetic for any delays (system issues) but took great care of us. My wife and I went to this eatery yesterday, after it was recommended by a co-worker. He raved about the food, he was correct. The place is decent sized, but feels cozy due to the way they have it set up inside. It gives the impression of a old beer hall. The front employees, all dress in period Austrian attire and it is cute. But the food is why you should go. The menu has numerous choices. We started with cocktails and an appetizer. My wife did her normal mixed drink, I had a Hirter lager. I did not notice the German IPA on the drink specials board, I will try that next time, yes we will be going back. We had the pork belly and soft pretzel appetizer, delicious. The pork was delicious, and melted in your mouth. The pretzel was hot, soft, with a little sweet on the back end. Served with a side of garlic cheese sauce, we could have made a meal off of several more of this appetizer. It was that good. For main courses, my wife had the stroganoff. The meat was fork tender and so tasty. The spatzell (probably misspelled) and veggies were well prepared and delicious. I had the pork Jeger-braten, (I'm not of German ancestry so forgive the spelling) which was awesome. The meat, again very tender. Lightly covered in the coating, which was very flavorful. The red cabbage and spetzell, again awesome in quality and flavor. A shout out also to their staff. Our server had a few difficult customers, and a large party when we arrived. She was still very polite, attentive, and got our order correct. (Even though multiple pens she attempted to use would not work). If you like German style food and drink, give this place a try. We will be returning, I want to try the sausage sampler and sauerkraut. read more

Very shocked to find a German food in Myrtle Beach and boy oh boy I did not regret it, someone from Germany truly is in that kitchen! Wife and daughter stopped by here before and decided to stop on the way through Myrtle Beach. The food was very tasty and mostly authentic, best for an American locale. We had the Munich platter and the Veal- Jaeger schnitzel with red cabbage and spetzle. The dishes were good sized and although my potatoes were not the pomfret variety it was good enough. I'm not sure if the price point was on target but for a niche restaurant it was good enough. They don't offer any military discount and although the place was not filled they stuck us in the back and had to constantly get our waitress's attention for water due to being out of site. I was not impressed with the food and was hoping for more items such as brochen and more traditional pomes and potatoes salad. We intend to try to other area German places to see if we could find one with better customer services. Definitely not worth the price. read more

I haven't had German food in AGES! Great environment. Fun music. All the servers wearing authentic costumes.
