Definitely overlooked because of where it's at. One of the best places in town to eat.

We're going to crank this one all the way to a solid 5 stars for service, food quality, flavor, and…read morevalue. We started with the Deviled Egg Flight because I'd never seen deviled eggs featuring Pork Belly and Mexican Street Corn. The flight included three of each, which worked out perfectly since there were three of us. The Mexican Street Corn version packed a little extra kick, but the Pork Belly version stole the show. Honestly, I could have made an entire meal out of those eggs alone. Since it was lunchtime, I went straight for the Pork Belly Reuben Sandwich. I make it a point to try every restaurant's version of a Reuben, but never in my life have I seen corned beef replaced with pork belly. Yikes... I'm drooling again just thinking about it. You owe it to yourself to try this sandwich. It just might be life-changing. (And yes, I'll definitely be back.) My wife ordered the Giant Meatball Pasta while my mother-in-law enjoyed her favorite, the Crab Cakes. Both received enthusiastic thumbs-up reviews. In fact, half of that enormous meatball ended up making the trip home so it could be savored again later. The dessert menu nearly caused a family disagreement. My wife settled on the Piña Colada Tres Leches while Mom chose the Crème Brûlée Cheesecake. Although both generously offered me a taste, my samples were limited to very small spoonfuls. Judging by the fact that both caramel-swirled plates were scraped spotless, I'd say the desserts were a hit. By the end of lunch, both ladies were on the verge of slipping into a food coma, so I dutifully volunteered to take them home. If you're craving exceptionally well-prepared, delicious food, you owe it to your taste buds to stop by Oscar's Bistro. From appetizers to dessert, everything we tried was memorable, and it's the kind of place that has you planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot. Three enthusiastic thumbs up from our entire table.

The fish tacos were fresh and full of flavor, the crab cakes were delicious and didn't get a picture of that. The chocolate crème brûlée was amazing! Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend Oscar Bistro to anyone looking for great food and exceptional service!

What a mistake I waited so long to make! This place did not disappoint. We started with the fondue, and wow... rich, creamy, and served piping hot like molten cheese lava in a proper fondue pot. The toasted French bread cubes were perfectly dunkable, and that cheese has more pull than the President. It's pure cheesy happiness in a pot--seriously, the cure for any bad mood. The beet carpaccio was another standout: beautifully thin slices drizzled with sweet fig balsamic, topped with goat cheese crumbles and fresh microgreens. Even the beet skeptics at our table went back for seconds. Next came the strawberry goat cheese salad, and I'm officially a convert. I used to avoid fruit on salads, but this one changed my mind completely. Sweet strawberries, creamy goat cheese, and crisp greens in perfect balance. I'm already planning my next visit with grilled salmon on top. For mains we shared the chicken paillard--light, bright with lemon, and paired with dreamy whipped mashed potatoes--and the steak frites. The steak was tender and juicy, but let's be honest... those frites stole the show. Fresh-cut, double-fried, perfectly crispy and salty. I could have eaten an endless basket of them. Absolute drool-worthy. We finished the night with sharing a plate of beignets. Warm, fluffy and dusted with powdered sugar. The service was phenomenal, especially for a large group. Our server never missed a beat, and the whole team was warm and attentive. The drink menu is excellent too--great selection of beers, wines, and creative cocktails. The Napoleon was our table favorite by far. Petite Suzette has officially earned a new set of regulars. We'll be back later this week, and I can't wait to try even more. If you're anywhere near Montgomery, do yourself a favor and go in. You won't regret it!

Monty's Lighthouse - Montgomery, Texas…read more This was my very first visit to Monty's Lighthouse out by Lake Conroe, and it was such a pleasant experience from start to finish. I decided to have a lunch date with my son, and the entire outing felt peaceful, relaxed, and exactly what we needed. The ambience was lovely, the weather was perfect, and the lakeside scenery added that extra touch that makes a meal feel like a moment. I ordered the Seafood Ravioli -- cheese raviolis covered in a rich crab bisque cream sauce with sautéed crawfish tails, shrimp, spinach, cherry tomatoes, and Parmesan. It was absolutely delicious and full of flavor, worth every bit of the $21.99. My son had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with applewood smoked bacon, pepper jack cheese, and Cajun honey mustard aioli. He enjoyed it completely, and at $15.49, it was a great portion and value. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was inviting, and the food was genuinely good. For a first‑time visit, Monty's Lighthouse made a strong impression. I definitely plan on going back and exploring more of the menu while enjoying that beautiful lakeside view.

I definitely see why this is a favorite amongst the locals and my coworkers party. Patio seating gives a gorgeous view of the water or you can sit inside amongst the many tables and booths available. As for the food, they offer cajun-inspired eats and seafood options here, all of which are quite tasty. They have oysters available along with crawfish if you want to go that avenue. My girlfriend and I kept it simple starting with the stuffed mushrooms, comes with 7 mushrooms stuffed with crab in a butter sauce. Pretty tasty although most of the flavor comes from the sauce. As for entrees, she ordered the cajun pasta while I went with the cajun shrimp cobb salad. The pasta is quite large and rich which suited her. I enjoyed the salad which had all the fixings of a cobb salad; I would've preferred the egg be chopped up but I can't complain. We finished our meal with the bread pudding which was delicious and full of cinnamon and caramel. Apparantly it's their best-selling dessert and I can see why. I noticed they also have live music here on certain days and an expansive happy hour. While this spot is far from where we live, we're definitely open to coming back here to taste other items.

Second time coming down here and it was very tasty before, when I got pancakes and my mother got…read morebiscuits and gravy. I can at least say that Mikki was a great server both times and very personable. The major issues this time were with the biscuits and hash browns. I got a western omelette with hash browns and a biscuit, while my mother got eggs Benedict and my father got a ham and cheese omelette. The biscuits are very dry and crumble apart, and because of this none of us were really able to eat them. Our hashbrowns were all different levels of doneness, but all were generally underdone, with my father's being pretty much uncooked and given a general sear. My own were lightly crispy, but the insides were somewhat raw. My mother's were at least almost completely done and had a decent crisp. I can say that at least the omelettes were alright; your standard omelette that you'd expect for a breakfast place to do. I enjoyed my omelette. Again, this place is good! I just don't know what happened this time. Perhaps there's a different chef in the kitchen. Our pancakes and biscuits/gravy from last time were quite tasty, though even then the biscuits were still pretty dry; the gravy helped though. Also, the inside looks absolutely adorable but whoever was managing the music had questionable choices... hard rock at 10 in the morning is a strange choice, even stranger is a bluegrass cover of Thunderstruck by AC/DC. It was all a bit strange and out of character for this restaurant. But I will say that Mikki was the one absolute good part, and I appreciated her service and attentiveness. Perhaps we'll come back again sometime and hopefully our preferred cook will be there.

Eggs were cooked perfect but I did not receive my toast. By the time I did, my eggs were cold and not runny anymore. Disappointing given who doesn't love dipping toast into the yolk. Our server was overwhelmed and inexperienced making the whole breakfast difficult. Waving down others to get more coffee and waiting 20 minutes at an empty table for our receipt became too much and made the experience too taxing.
