We stopped for a late lunch today, and even though the food was tasty apparently we weren't important enough for the to stop the very annoying vacuuming. At first we were thinking that oh it will be just a minute they're cleaning up some spill or something... but no after we had our drinks delivered, and made our order she kept going. The server came back around and I asked if maybe the vacuuming could be stopped, and was told that it was there down time and that's what they do during the down time. Maybe it's just me, but I sweep during customer hours if needed, and vacuum after closing! In closing, even though service to the table & the food was good... we won't be back. read more

Our experience was hopefully a unique one, but we will most likely not return. Not a reflection of our server, Hannah, at all whatsoever. She was lovely and the best part of our visit. The food was very good, pasta was cooked well. We walked in to an empty restaurant and were greeted by Hannah immediately. Minutes after sitting down, a crew member started vacuuming and was using it for about 80% of our visit. This was not 10:30pm while they were closing, it was 3:30pm. The cleaning paused long enough for a manager to have a meeting with clients a few feet away from our table. Again, we were the only guests in the building. This is a big restaurant with plenty of room to meet privately. Just a very weird vibe. Hannah apologized (which she shouldn't have to) for the noise after we asked if this is a common practice to vacuum during off hours. She said they usually clean around shift change, but they got a late start that day for whatever reason. Overall, good food and good service. Not so pleasant ambiance. read more

A friend of mine mentioned a keto friendly menu at Cafe Pasta so I thought I would give it a try. Never in a million years would I select a restaurant with the "pasta" name in it when on a diet. Im so glad she mentioned this place because it was amazing. The waitress asked if we had ever been there and proceeded to tell us the menu was just chef suggestions that he would make anything we wanted. Seriously?!? You mean I can create any weird combination/substitution/recipe change I want? She laughed and said of course. I ordered the grouper cooked with no butter with a side of spaghetti squash with only oil and seasoning, salad without cheese and just lemon wedges. The fish was cooked to perfection. It was not overdone. It was perfect with a nice seasoning that wasn't too salty. Sometimes when dieting places make the food so bland. This was perfect. The spaghetti was savory with a herb seasoning on it and was very tasty. My salad was very fresh with lots of veggies on top. It's often hard to find a side salad with more than lettuce and tomato so I was pleasantly surprised with this fresh cut greens salad mixture with variety. There were so many items I wanted to try so I will need to come back. The owner or manager came by to check on us a couple times as well and everyone was very friendly. Googled, found them...from the street, unimpressive although the multiple reserved parking spaces should have tipped me off.. The owner and the team are wonderful. The food is amazing. The lasagna was rich and velvety, the bolognese was hearty for the meat and the mushrooms, and the Alfredo was creamy and exquisite. But the high points were the meatballs they served with the bolognese. I don't know what they do to those things but they were an amazing character in what was an already epic cast of flavors. If you're looking for an elegant, clean place to sit and enjoy a meal, this is the place for you. I am a huge fan of lights and loved all of the lights strung throughout the restaurant. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip for an appetizer, shrimp scampi for entree and white chocolate mousse for dessert and it was a great value for under $30. The portions were just right and hearty. The service was meh, in my opinion. I wish there was either a hostess or signage instructing patrons about seating. The waitress was efficient at her job; I would've preferred she been just a bit more friendly. If you are looking for a lot of Italian food at a very good price, I highly recommend ordering one of the Family Meal Deals from Café Pasta. It says it will feed 6-8 people, but I honestly think that number should be higher. We had 5 big eaters and still had plenty to give everyone a round of leftovers. The meals are either $26 or $30 depending on which you get. We called in advance earlier that day and it was ready to-go when we arrived. The dishes arrive in huge aluminum tins, which helps keep the food warm. They also give you garlic bread. We got the Mushroom Ravioli & Penne Pasta with Veggies in Vodka Crema Sauce ($25.95) and the Chicken Parmigiana with Tomato Sauce in Penne ($29.95). I had a slight preference for the ravioli dish as far as taste. To me the chicken on the parmigiana was a little dry, and I wish they would have incorporated the chicken into the dish opposed to just sitting pieces on top of the penne pasta, cheese, and sauce. I appreciated the large variety of vegetables included in the ravioli dish and liked their vodka cream sauce. The ratio of ravioli to penne was very skewed in favor of penne and would have preferred it the other way of course. We also added a tray of Garden House Salad that came with balsamic and ranch dressing for only $9.95 more. I am not sure I would do the salad tray again as it was nothing unique, just your standard garden salad with mostly iceberg lettuce. I was very hungry, so these family meals hit the spot that night. My girlfriend and I ordered from Cafe Pasta on 1/3/2025. We ordered at least an hour before hand and still had to wait to get our food. Once the food came out it was stone cold and bone dry which is partly our fault which I acknowledge. However, if it was cold then that must mean it was already prepared and makes me question why we waited up to 30 minutes for the food. Not only did we wait for our cold and dry food after ordering a hour ahead, but the food also made us very ill. My girlfriend and I were up all last night nauseous and with severe stomach pains. I do not know if it was food poisoning, a lack of staff hygiene, poor ingredients, or negligent preparation, but something was wrong with our meal. Lets just say more came out of me then went in. I was on Facebook yesterday and saw a post on one of my popular newsfeeds I subscribe to that said "Thursday Special - flounder and seasoned fries" at Cafe Pasta. The photo posted shows 3 large pieces of fish and fries. It looked delicious. Unfortunately, It turned out to be anything but special. We arrived at the restaurant and asked for the flounder special. The waitress brought us each a single piece of flounder, that looked more like something that would be found on a lunch special. The home made chips were cold too. Disappointed , I showed her the promotional photo posted on Facebook. I said who posted this? She said that it was posted by the owner/manager. I asked why we each got one piece of flounder. It was not a big piece either. The photo was false advertising. She told the manager and he came to our table. I showed him the meal photo that he posted. He blamed the waitress for not describing the portions to us. He said that he would ask the kitchen to bring out more fish. About 20 minutes later the waitress brought us one single small piece of flounder in a small plate. They should have at least given us one piece each. The waitress apologized more than the manager. I don't blame her. She was actually a very good server. We were amazed by the lack of customer service. The manager never owned up to the false meal photo. Bringing us a single small plate of fish to share was just disrespectful. We will never eat there again and definitely plan to tell others about our terrible experience there. read more

This place food is amazing. Atmosphere, dated and weee in the 90's with all these bright led lights but it's still fun. Don't sit in the lower level. It's loud and it echos. We needed to sit on the middle level. Salads, bread and entrees were all served fresh and hot. It was an unforgettable night. We celebrated a birthday and a promotion and this place delivered. As usual, we enjoyed the food and ourselves. The best part was I tried something new and it was just amazing. The spa chair artichoke dip is so fresh and the fried pita bread is perfect, warm, has a crack yet still soft and succulent. My scampi was fresh and flavorful. Shrimp Scampi was so lemony it was hard to eat. I added a plate of Parmesan cheese to cut try and cut the lemon favor. Feta cheese on scampi? The menu said a nice creamy lemon sauce. There was nothing nice about it. Alfredo tortilla was caked in so much pepper any other flavors that might have been in the sauce was lost. Our one server, Hanna, was very nice and the only reason I would consider giving this place an additional stars but I can't. Our second server, who served us our actual dinner was rude! If the restaurant is trying for upscale maybe skip the Christmas lights and try for some better lighting? The management needs to remind the staff that customer service is important. My family held a birthday dinner and party that night to celebrate my 75th BD. We had our own, private seating area and the place was bright and clean. From the moment I walked in from a storm, the staff were so friendly. I did a carry out order which is really easy to place. I probably could have called ahead but I had some questions. I ordered the calamari appetizer with the Cajun pasta & Chicken Masala entrées and a cannoli. The calamari was a bit overdone and needed a little more seasoning but the marinara dipping sauce was great. I added onions and peppers to the Cajun pasta and combined the sauces to make what the server called like a spicy vodka cream sauce. It was really good. The Chicken Marsala was a tad sweet but really good with the angels hair noodles. I got a big cannoli for $5 with whipped cream and chocolate syrup and I thoroughly enjoyed that, the filling was not gritty like some places I've tried but smooth and complemented the cannoli shell nicely. We often forget about this place, tucked in a shopping strip on State Street, but every time we rediscover it, I'm always reminded to bookmark it in my brain when I want some real good food. The atmosphere is beautiful, just isn't reminiscent of what I'd expect if I was dining in an authentic Tuscany village. The food is outstanding. Their grouper specials are fire! So worth it. They didn't time our dishes well, our appetizer came out with dinner and our bar drinks came one at a time and at a table for four, it felt disjointed, but the food makes up for it. Really. The service was outstanding, despite our server admitting that she normally tends the bar and doesn't wait tables. She wasn't real familiar with the menu, so had to ask the chef, which I appreciate...I've been in some restaurants where the wait staff will give you an answer that isn't correct, just to give you an answer without having to ask themselves. The owner, Ray, is clued in...he greets you when you walk in and thanks you for coming when you leave...you feel appreciated for coming in and spending some money in his restaurant. We reached around 9pm friday night with barely any other customers in but they seated us anyway despite the kitchen likely almost closing. Ordered a shrimp appetizer which was good and alfredo tortellini which was delicious! Would definitely get the alfredo again if i were to dine in/order from here. The tiramisu was a miss i would say.
