Fantastic! So many flavors. I have loved everything I have had here. Its ALL about the sauce. The potatos come with sauce, the sandwiches come with sauces, the sauces are awesome. I have had all the sandwiches, my fav is the Asada, a pot roast with delicious spicy marinara. Try the Chicha, its like a sweet blue corn tea with a chai hint, and the pina, and the soda. What a great little Peruvian sandwich shop! We had the Rumba Pulled Pork and the Butifarra Royal sandwiches which I both highly recommend. They were made on these crispy little Peruvian French rolls that were baked to perfection. The pork in both sandwiches were both very different but had so much flavor. The sauces in both sandwiches are what separated these sandwiches from other sandwiches I've tried. These cooks have definitely figured out the secret to Peruvian sandwich making. We picked up a couple of sandwiches and went to Boulevard Park for an impromptu picnic. I had not been to Cafe Rumba in a long time and I am so glad we did. The food was even better than I remembered it. The Buttifarra was incredible and the Pollo sandwich was excellent too. After a long day of school and no food in my stomach, I decided to stop by here for the first time. They have a great selection of sandwiches from their traditional to the american. I chose a sandwich from the special menu called the Pollo Pina. Oh man, did I make a good choice. From the grilled pineaples to the moist chicken and the sauce, it was all so delicious. Had heard much about this place but had not tried it until recently...wish I had done so sooner! Have tried 2 different sandwiches here and both were amazingly good. I love the spicy sauce they put on the potatoes that come with your sandwich - yum!!! Fantastic flavor and plentiful! We got the #4 & #5, the sandwiches were filled with meat and sauces were so tasty. The only downside was that they were pretty damn messy and we had to use a handtowel while eating lol Those potatoes on the side though... perfect. The food is always incredible and the people are always so kind. The wait is never long to order and the food takes an understandable amount of time to prepare. I always go with the #4 (it's a delicious sandwich with chicken, avocado, bacon, lettuce, potato crisps, and sauces) with a side of potatoes. It's always so fresh and the sauces are filled with flavor. It's been a perfect place to go with friends or to pick up for a night in. They have a great drink selection and some really great deserts, as well. Reasonably priced for a perfect portion size. Fantastic ingredients & delicious across the board for about ~$8 for a large sandwich and a side of potatoes and heavenly sauce. I never want to go to another sandwich place again. To update, they took my fav sandwich off the menu which is fine but.. Once I went in there, they said it was "seasonal". Since when is beef "seasonal"? Went in there another time at a much later period of time, to see if they were makin them yet and got rejected again... this time, it's because "they only make them on weekends". The sandwiches are one of a kind with the traditional Peruvian salsa cream that is added to all sandwiches as well as sides of potato that makes them stand out from other deli cafe spots. Just wanted to say this place is by far the best cafe. For lunch we had 2 delicious sandwiches and freshly made dulce de leche alfajores it's basically a delicious shortbread cookie with carmel, which blew my mind they are so good you have to get some the next time your in town this is the place to go. Such nice staff and amazing food. The cream sauce really is the icing on the cake of the perfectly done potatoes and tender juicy shredded chicken. The sandwich bun is also perfect, sort of toasted crispy on the outside but not so dense to overwhelm the rest of the ingredients. Two stars because the food WAS good... but we waited 42 minutes (yes I timed it) at 2:30pm on a Tuesday for 2 sandwiches. Not sure if this is a normal time to wait here or not, but we stopped because we saw it was a sandwich shop with order-at-the-counter service and assumed it would be a nice fast lunch. I think anywhere else might've been faster! When our food was finally done they let us know that they were actually out of the food we ordered and they had made a salad instead, which they told us while handing us the bag with our substitute food in it, and I responded with "well that's fine I guess", as we had been waiting for a long time and were ready to eat the napkins at this point, and the girl rolled her eyes and walked away without saying anything else. Also, this is a place that offers counter service only, similar to a coffee shop, but they still expect a 20% tip on their iPad you pay on, which brought our order for 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks to $47, feels a little high to me considering the long wait, poor service, and being out of what we ordered. There was also no time estimate given, and I feel like maybe if some sandwiches are going to take almost 45 minutes, that's something that needs to be said. Not sure we will be back. read more

Super cute and I don't know what authentic Peruvian tastes like but I got the traditional sandwich they recommended and it was really good. Salad was fresh. Not great for large parties if you're expecting to all eat the same time. They aren't quite set up to fulfill a whole bunch of orders at the same time. read more
