Craving Mediterranean and decided to give this place a try. It's mid tbh The salad was simply just that bag mix lettuce. No dressing, nothing Mediterranean about it. I read the description and although it sounded basic, I didn't think it would taste basic. Also, no jalapeño, which I was really looking forward to. Also ordered hummus. Pide! Pide! Pide! Chewy flatbread with minced meat and spices on top. Just delicious. Wanted to order a few other items to try but they sold out. Amazing sit down service, friendly staff and beautiful food and decor. I am really grateful for this Turkish spot so close to my place. Came here for lunch on a friday and Waitress was super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu (online one larger than in person one), and even encouraged me to try the big selection of their deserts. I order the Gyro Beef Doner plate and my plus one order the chops plate. So delicious and the onions, tomatoes and rice tasted very fresh and delicious. Am looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu like the Pide, omelettes, and get extremely wired on Turkish coffee. read more

We went there after lunch on weekend just to have some snacking. We ordered fries, falafal plate and baba gonoush. They mixed old fries with new fries so 50% of the fries were soggy and cold. No sauce was served with fried priced 4.00/4.50$. The falafal plate was around 15$. The falafals were muddy and tasted really bad. Baba gonoush was okay but nothing special. My husband ate baba gonoush in Turkey and he said it was nothing similar to original baba gonoush. The service was very poor, we had to ask for water and no one came to see if food was good and we need anything or not. There was 2 more families at that time, so not much crowd. read more

We live nearby and wanted to try out this relatively new place. Food was actually good, but it was a bit pricey. I didn't see the value. The portion was the same or smaller than what you'd find at a mall food court: half a pita bread, a skewer of meat, some green salad, and about a dollop of tzatziki sauce. And the quality was simile to mall food court as well. We had one plate each and shared one can of soda. Total bill was close to $60 for lunch. Yikes! I saw the price before ordering, but I figured the portions were probably enough for two meals. Nope! We eat out almost every meal. I've paid $100 for lunch without feeling disappointed afterward. This is the first time where I felt a little cheated. If the owners are reading: the food was good, and portion was sufficient. We've been coming to cafe sabah for the past few years, and the food has changed; not for the better. We went just after 8 so perhaps that's the reason. We ordered doner, and it was one of the worst I've ever had. I think it was coated with salt as if it was being cured to try and hide the old meat. The meat was obviously not fresh, and although they use to cut it by the order, they don't make it fresh anymore. I'm so bummed because it's the closest place, but honestly McDonald's has fresher meat. Sad and bummed the food quality has gone downhill. Tried this place out and while the food is good, pay extra attention to your bill. When we paid our bill (felt too expensive for what we ordered) and was told we owed more money afterwards. Took a look at the itemized bill and found they added someone else's entree onto our tab and charged us an extra dessert. The Pistachio Kadaif is priced at $7.99, however our bill had $17.98 listed as the subtotal for the two desserts. $8 x 2 should come out to be $16 but to add another couple dollars on top of that and telling me it's "tax" after I asked about the price discrepancy? That's not right. They gave us cash back but probably would've been better to cancel the card transaction and start over when we asked, the tax and tip was already paid towards the incorrect items. I always like Mediterranean food and this is first time I am trying turkeish cuisine. We ordered mixed grill kebab, beyti kebab wraps, falafell plate, ground meat pide and Mavlena. Enjoyed the large room and fireplace in this casual restaurant. Wanted to love the food. The server was pleasant, though service was slow. It took about 15 minutes to order and then about 35 minutes for the food. I assume because cooked to order which is nice. Unfortunately I had ordered the falafel wrap and was brought tge falafel plate. She took it back and had it converted to a wrap, but it wasn't warm anymore when it came back. My other had the chicken kabab plate. The chicken came hot and freshly cooked. It was tender and moist. However, he didn't feel it had much flavor. It really needed some garlic or tahini sauce. He felt the rice was the tastiest part of the plate. All this said, I would like to try some other Turkish specialties on the menu. I will give it another try. read more

A recommendation from friends sent us here and we are so glad we went! The Etli Ekmek Ground Beef Pide was fantastic. We also had the mix appetizer plate with hummus, tzatziki, shakshouka & baba ganoush. Each was very flavorful and my favorite was the tzatziki. After our main course, which was also delightful, we had the baklava which was the perfect amount of sweetness. The staff were very nice and one of the owners came and talked to us. This was an unexpected delight. I'd been craving manti and found this restaurant here on Yelp, so we decided to check it out. I'll be honest and tell you it is a little pricey, but not without reason. The food is so delicious, it's worth every penny. If you're on a budget, it's still a perfect spot for a splurge meal. You won't leave hungry or disappointed, I promise. We ordered both appetizers (hummus & fresh bread) as well as desserts (Turkish custard and rice pudding). I ordered my Manti, of course, and I swear my eyes rolled back in my head at the first spoonful. The stewed beef and eggplant dish, Patlican Guvec, that my husband ordered was also rich and flavorful, but surprisingly not heavy. We both left stuffed and very happy. We had the kebab platter, some appetizers and tried the Turkish soda. All the meat was very tender. We had never had Turkish food before so not sure how it compares with other places. My wife liked that all the food was mild and flavorful, but not spicy hot like Indian or Mexican food. The fruit flavored Turkish soda was delicious. We came in on a Friday at about 4:30pm and it was basically empty. I hope that is due to the time of day. The location was kind of hard to find. Seems like maybe not alot of people know about this place. I hope it stays open because we want to come back to try more of their dishes. read more

I'm clearly in the minority with my experience and overall thoughts of Sabah. I'd read all the 4 and 5 star reviews before going, so I high expectations that were immediately tempered upon entering. First, the restaurant smelled old and musty...it hit me as soon as I walked in. Staff was super attentive and nice. This was my first time at a Turkish restaurant so they gave my group several recommendations. The lamb was tender and very flavorful - I don't like lamb but could easily eat this at Sabah. The pepperoni pizza (forget the actual name) was really great! However, the shrimp skewers were overcooked which is unfortunate since it was $27. The other dishes I sampled were very underwhelming and certainly not worth the price tag. Overall, as a group, we felt underwhelmed leaving Sabah. In a nutshell: OK food that's overpriced. read more

Cafe Sabah does an incredible Iskender kebab, wonderful breakfast, and lovely small plates (the mouttebal is incredible, think of a baba ghanoush smoothed out with yogurt). Ordered a few dishes to try including cigar rolls as an appetizer. The phyllo dough was a little too thick, and it should've been fried a bit more as it was soggy. The staff were friendly. I have been to Cafe Sabah twice and had two enjoyable meals. The place is finding its momentum and on the second visit on a Saturday evening, it was quite busy. The food is very good, although having eaten in lots of Turkish restaurants, I still give Cafe Sabah 4 out of 5 stars. We really like the fresh Shepard's salad. The tasty mixed grill is more than enough for 2 people. Be sure to try a pide, a typical Turkish street food. The desserts are definitely a highlight, all of them are made there by the owner. Please note that Cafe Sabah is a family halal restaurant. This means it is a good place for children and you should realize that no alcohol is served. I read some other Yelp reviews complaining about the lack of alcohol, perhaps these folks don't know that a halal restaurant usually does not serve alcohol. read more

It's been 9 years since I left Turkey but the food and the ambiance at Cafe Sabah made me feel like I was in Turkey again! Their menu is extensive and full of classic Turkish dishes, including breakfast all day, which I can't wait to try. I don't eat meat, so I had lentil soup, spinach gozleme, and babaganoush. As someone who grew up in Turkey, I'm so happy to be able to say we finally have an authentic Turkish restaurant in the entire Seattle metropolitan area! If you are hungry or just want to try everything, go with the Mixed Grill. It is a feast! Otherwise, my favorite is Lahmacun and I just love having 2-3 of those as a meal.
