No matter who is working here the staff is always kind and friendly. They have delicious and unique pastries. One time I got a pistachio croissant that was bursting with pistachio cream. The vibes here are very laid back and chill. It's like your little local coffee shop. Love it here!

    Hot Sapienna w/ Oat Milk

This cafe is so comfy and can be on the more quiet side. The vibes are casual. This is a great place to catch up with friends or work. The drinks taste delicious. A go-to drink I would recommend is the Sapienna. They have milk alternatives (which does cost a bit extra), like oat milk. The Lox also tastes great. There's some outside seating, but more so inside seating. There's plenty of parking - think plaza parking. Service is quick and friendly. They also give great recommendations.

    Oreo bingsu (snow crème)

Made it to CS just in time before they closed today. We were craving a bingsu and our Oreo bingsu really hit the spot. It was chocolaty, smooth and silky. Most importantly not overly sweet. They prepared one order in two to-go cups. Worked out perfectly for us.

Stopped in for an iced matcha latte, no one was in line so I was helped right away. Color was nice and earthy flavor came through. What a cute spot with plenty of indoor seating to meet with friends or get some work done. They have 5 different snow créme options there as well- I want to try them next time! Parking- big lot shared with other businesses

Fast and refreshing! The owners were also very kind. Love having this place in the neighborhood.

Delicious bingsu comparable to chains like sul and beans but without the wait, crazy parking and loud noise! We had the mango shaved ice and it was delicious. My goal is to try all the flavors by the end of year haha. Cute little mom and pop hidden in a plaza with many parking spots. I'm looking forward to trying their lattes/drinks too!

Solid cafe in the Oak Park area! I've been to Cafe Sapientia for a Yelp event (their bingsu is quite good), but I surprisingly haven't been back since. I have since realized why - Yelp has this place labeled as "Not a A Good Place for Working", which I personally disagree with. There's actually a decent amount of seating and outlets. Anyways, for my second visit, I ordered an Iced London Fog and a Tuna Sandwich. The tea was okay, pretty average quality for the London Fog. The Tuna Sandwich was actually really good and is something that I would order again. If you are looking for a cafe in the area with good food, drinks, and dessert, and is also a suitable place for getting things done on the computer, give Cafe Sapientia a try!

    Mango snow creme

This place is so nice. The snow creme ice is so good! We bought one for to-go, they put it into 2 cups so it's easier to eat. Service was a bit slow considering there were only 4 people working (2 front and 2 in the back) and there were always customers coming in and out. But, overall the service was great, they were very nice. There are a lot of tables for people to hang-out/study/work. Overall, it's a great place to go get desserts. Would definitely come back!

    Tuna Sandwich and matcha latte

Cafe Sapientia is a hidden gem! Tucked away in a quiet Oak Park shopping center, it is very unassuming on the outside. As soon as you walk in, many tables are filled with folks studying, chatting with friends, or just relaxing with a latte. It is a very chill vibe and friendly atmosphere. The baristas are always very friendly and accommodating. The selection of drinks and food options are solid, packed with flavor and variety. I love the tuna sandwich, paninis, herbal teas, and lattes. They also have delicious desserts and baked goods. Every time I come here I always have a positive experience. Highly recommend this local neighborhood spot!

lox avocado toast, chive and cream cheese taiyaki, iced matcha latte, hazelnut latte
    Reyna J.

This place absolutely lives up to the good things people have to say about it. We went at about midday on a weekday, and it wasn't too crowded, and everything came out relatively quickly. We got the avocado toast with lox which was excellent, as well as the chive cream cheese taiyaki which was also quite good. Drinks didn't blow us away, but they were both quite solid (matcha latte and hazelnut latte). Not the cheapest, but that's to be expected for the area. Definitely see myself coming back here!

Matcha is my best! My hubby likes original. Their shaved ice form keeps long time. They are keeping serving bowl in freezer. Their snow powder ice is unbelievably soft. I recommend you to try sweet, good flavor ice melt in your mouth.

Well imagine having your own personal dessert truck coming directly to you for that private party at a specified time arranged by you and the owners. Well guess what?? Your wildest dreams are about to come true! In the midst of everything going on in the world, we decided to give Kona Ice Thousand Oaks a shot and have them come out to one of our family members residence. The minimum order amount to have them come out was easy to hit, it was for sure less 50 bucks. We were able to select the sizing of our shaved ice's prior to the event and prepay so everything was already settled. On the day of the event, all of the kids and adults patiently waited in the driveway and we all got excited when we saw the Kona Ice truck coming down the street playing some Hawaiian style music. Once they pulled up to the curb, we each stood in line and picked out our flavors (up to two flavors per shaved ice cup). Once we individually ordered, they handed up our shaved ice's following their strict pandemic guidelines. Within about 15 minutes, we all had our shaved ice's in hand and the driver of the Kona Ice said their goodbyes as they headed to their next event. We enjoyed the Kona Ice experience so much, we actually ordered them a couple weeks later. Great idea for kids birthday parties, block parties or just a special treat for the kids in the neighborhood. When I arrived, I was greeted and waited to place my order. An employee suggested that I use one of the kiosks instead. I noticed several customers waiting to order, so I decided to place my order directly through the Ubatuba website on my phone while inside the restaurant. After ordering, I waited quite a while. During that time, I noticed customers who had arrived after me receiving their orders first. Eventually, I heard my name called, went to pick up the order, and returned to my car. Once I got to my car, I realized the bowl I had received was not my order. I immediately returned to the restaurant to let the staff know. The employee took the bowl, threw it away, and said, "Yeah, I know you took her order. Next time listen for your name." I found that comment both unfair and unprofessional. This was clearly an honest mistake. I genuinely believed I had heard my name called. If I had intentionally taken someone else's order, I certainly would not have returned to correct the mistake. The employee then told me that I had placed my order through DoorDash and that my order was separated from the others. This was confusing because I did not place my order through DoorDash; I ordered directly through the Ubatuba website. If the company uses a third-party system behind the scenes, that is not something customers are made aware of during the ordering process. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What was disappointing was not the mix-up itself, but the way the situation was handled. A simple explanation or a courteous response would have gone a long way. Instead, I was made to feel as though I had done something wrong when I was trying to correct an honest mistake. I have always enjoyed Ubatuba and have had positive experiences in the past, which is why this interaction stood out. I hope situations like this are handled so future customers are treated with more professionalism and respect.
