AWESOME!! Hands down, this is the best restaurant we've tried in Destin! The experience is similar to dining at one of the smaller, top notch, local restaurants in NOLA - like Brigsten's, Patois, Clancy's, Boucherie, Bistro Daisy or Dante's Kitchen. The restaurant is in a converted bungalow and the entire dining experience is first class all the way. Service, food, atmosphere, ambiance. I would have given them 5 stars except we happened to have our meal on a very chilly evening (40 degrees) and we were seated in their converted porch area and it was quite cold out there (note: it did improve after we asked our server to kick up the heat). The restaurant is quite small - 9 tables - so GET RESERVATIONS! And finally, they only serve wine and beer - no liquor license. Cheers!

Have no problem spending for exceptional food, but this was nothing more than mediocre for the price.

BLUF: Cute little shop with strong coffee, baked goods and breakfast favorites…read more As a black coffee drinker, I really appreciate a good cup of joe. Also, I like it strong. Coffeee Shoppe delivered on both fronts! I originally visited this cute little shop on 30A to get caffeinated but then I also felt the call to order some food. The baked goods in the case were super tempting, as was the Avocado Toast, but I eventually went with breakfast tacos. They were fairly basic with just eggs, cheese and avocados but they were the perfect pairing for my black, cold brew. The interior of the shop was nice, very chill. No one was particularly moving at a fast pace, myself included!

When the door was opened briefly, I asked if they were open and received a response that felt a little unwelcoming. I understand it was New Year's Day, and if they were closed, a simple explanation would have helped avoid the confusion. That said, the coffee itself was strong and very delicious, which is why I still wanted to leave a positive review. The quality of the coffee definitely stood out, and I'd love to try it again, hopefully during regular hours next time.

BLUF: Neat building, ok food, bar out back looks like a good time…read more I love the building that Cowgirl Kitchen is located in. It reminds me of a mid-century diner or service station that you would have seen on historic Route 66. While indeed a mid-century building dating back to the 1950s, it was originally a cottage in Seagrove Beach. I love that the owners had the historic cottage relocated when it was threatened by a new subdivision being built in Seagrove. The logistics at Cowgirl Kitchen are that you order inside and then a server will bring the food out to you. We choose to sit on the front patio for a serene environment but I can tell the people out back at Boxcar Annie's were having a great time enjoy live music and cocktails. For food we had a round of grouper sandwiches and a side of chips. My sandwich was good. My sister's was undercooked - pink and jelly-like at the thickest portion. I am sure the staff would have been glad to remedy the situation but we frankly didn't feel like waiting in line at the counter again and then waiting for them to put the fish back on the flattop, or however its cooked. She ate around the undercooked part and we moved on with our day. Another thing that is nice about Cowgirl Kitchen is that it's right net to "The Stalls of 30A" - a unique and fun shopping experience. I always appreciate when I can eat, drink and shop and not have to move the car!

This is one of the best coffee shops I have ever been to and I'm so jealous it's not close to me…read more We popped in on our way home from vacation and it was such a special experience. The interior is stunning. They have so many lovely sitting areas with modern style and a comfy feel. They share a windowed wall with a trendy furniture store which really adds to the ambiance. The menu was super unique and it was so hard to pick a drink. I chose the orange blossom shaken espresso. It was absolutely fantastic. The espresso was rich and the orange blossom flavor was strong without being too perfumed or overpowering. Service was friendly and fast. My friends loved the Sun Bum and the quad shot. Truly amazing!

And I LOVE their club sandwich, it's typically pretty reliable regardless of who might be making it. That said, a couple areas for improvement. Probably once a month I DoorDash the club sandwich and/or a coffee. The chips that are "included" with the sandwich are NEVER bagged with my order for the dasher. I always write a note and I think I've gotten chips one time. Also, I got a chocolate croissant/pain au chocolat for my kids one morning on the way to school and didn't realize until too late that it was SEVEN DOLLARS for a very modest sized croissant/pain. I was so upset, but in too much of a hurry to try to rectify the situation. Very disappointing that a basic staple is priced for a luxury resort/vacation when there are locals who appreciate good food without the millionaire pricing.

BLUF: Excellent breakfast all day and delicious, fresh donuts in a diner-like atmosphere…read more My party of three arrived at The Donut Hole to a long-ish line down the ramp and I was wondering if it's worth it. It is! The Donut Hole most certainly has diner vibes and I suspect the booths are original to its 1978 origins - both of which made for a nostalgic experience. Although named for the sweet, fried confections, The Donut Hole has a huge menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. My table all ordered breakfast even though it was lunch time. The breakfast was awesome - omelettes, pancakes, poached eggs, cheese grits, coffee and the most delicious rye bread. I had the sausage and cheese omelet and there was something about it that made it better than other omelettes I've had. Also, I loved the rye bread - it was sliced thicker than what I am used to and it was very pillowy. I enjoyed it dry but it was also good with a little butter. We waited about 20 or so minutes for a table, but once seated we enjoyed prompt, attentive, excellent service. And's let's not forget to talk about the fresh made donuts! Oh my, there were a lot of flavors to choose from and none of them disappointed. Initially I went with a chocolate frosted and Bavarian cream filled donut. But then a fresh tray of key line donuts came out and I had to get one of those too. My sister ordered a few and we took them back to our rental, cut them in quarters and had a donut tasting party. Delicious! I am looking forward to my return trip to The Donut Hole. A visit to Santa Rosa Beach would not be complete without a stop at The Donut Hole.

Holy tortugas! This place rocks and no wonder it is packed, the word is out…read moreVery smart scheme, they don't need any advertising because it is by word of mouth, our next door neighbor from Pensacola told us about the donuts and other items in the menu I ordered an omelette with mushrooms and cheese and it was like they would have told me to go in the kitchen and make it myself disregarding how big my stomach and my appetite would be, very generous that not even the picture makes justice to how well and generous was. Do you think I left any in my plate? no sir! Wife ordered two fried eggs that come with hash browns and biscuit and she barely finished too. Kathy was our server with a smile from ear to ear that made our day, very patient and took our order quickly and accurately. Considering the number of people in the restaurant our food came out quickly. We asked Kathy about something we saw next table and could not guess what it was on the menu. Apple fritters she said so we ordered one to go, well have it with coffee tomorrow There is a well known breakfast franchise across the highway but they are no competition to the Donut Hole, just simply there is no other place I have been in the Nation that serves as good as this and I have been to quite a few, I wish there was one near home. Place is well lit and inviting with enough personnel to tackle the crowd Place is crazy busy and when we left the line was all the way to the front porch Are we coming back? you bet we will in the week and a half we have left in Paradise. Only about a mile from Topsail Hill State Park and next time we will take the bikes, easy ride on the bike lane on Highway 98
