AWESOME!! Hands down, this is the best restaurant we've tried in Destin! The experience is similar to dining at one of the smaller, top notch, local restaurants in NOLA - like Brigsten's, Patois, Clancy's, Boucherie, Bistro Daisy or Dante's Kitchen. The restaurant is in a converted bungalow and the entire dining experience is first class all the way. Service, food, atmosphere, ambiance. I would have given them 5 stars except we happened to have our meal on a very chilly evening (40 degrees) and we were seated in their converted porch area and it was quite cold out there (note: it did improve after we asked our server to kick up the heat). The restaurant is quite small - 9 tables - so GET RESERVATIONS! And finally, they only serve wine and beer - no liquor license. Cheers!

Have no problem spending for exceptional food, but this was nothing more than mediocre for the price.

Here again for our mandatory stop on vacation. Always at least an hour wait for a table (larger…read moregroup, longer wait ) They were friendly as usual. The service was very quick. When we got there, there was a 30 minute wait which turned to be around 60 for our party of 11. We even asked if we could break up our party to get seated quicker. Once seated , there were lots of open high tops available ! We were seated at a makeshift table in the covered patio area. Our server was really nice and on top of serving our table. Quick serving. If you like fried seafood (fish, crab claws app, shrimp) po boy or fried platter this is their main service. There are salads and gumbo , burger, and a couple other entree dishes. Dessert is available, but we didn't get any this time. Fried Oreos are the usual go to here. This is probably our 5th time coming to this place. Dependable and consistent (especially the waiting time ). Likely be back when we come again in a few years.

BLUF: Excellent food in a casual atmosphere…read more Local Catch has an unassuming building on 30A with an equally casual interior. Although this place has bar vibes, the food is elevated. We landed at Local Catch in search of grouper and we found it! I loved their blackened grouper with beurre blanc sauce, green beans and mashed potatoes. Before diving into the grouper, I shared nachos with the table and they too were surprisingly awesome. Local Catch makes their nachos with home made tortillas and something about how they topped them with pork, lots of cheese, and a little bit of a sweet salsa, madee them memorable. Other items on the seafood and American fare inspired menu include tacos, burgers, po' boys, steaks and salad. If I wasn't craving grouper, it would have been hard to choose. Service was excellent as well. We visited during the busy spring break season and there was plenty of parking in the private lot. In addition to indoor seating, there are also some tables on the front patio. I'd love to return and try many more menu items and my leam with a draft beer or cocktail.

Came out tasting fishy and not fresh. Sent it back after trying two, just to make sure the first one wasn't off. Sent it back and they said they took half off the charge for the crabs. I let them know that was unacceptable and I wanted to remove my entree from being made. They came back and said they took the whole cost off, but it's what should have been done from the beginning. I still didn't get my entree. I completely understand that it could have just been a bad batch, but ingredient issues are the problem of the restaurant and not the customer. Fried pickles were breaded in corn meal. They were crispy and tasty. Son got the spaghetti (linguine noodles) off the kids menu. Said he didn't like it because it had a weird texture. I tried it and the noodles were over cooked. Sent it back to be remade. Came back a little over again. He ended up not eating it. My wife got the triple tail (blackened) from the catch of the day. It came covered in a remoulaude, with green beans and a garlic mashed potatoes. She loved her entire meal. My daughter got the fried shrimp with a side of fries. Fries were perfectly crispy but a little under seasoned. Fried shrimp was crispy and seasoned well. She enjoyed her meal. (Son also approved of the meal as he ate some of hers due to not liking his food.) Slight off smell when you walk in, but it fades quickly. (Could just be a me issue as I am hyper sensitive to smells.) Lights dimmed to give a nice ambiance, but then they sit you in hard metal chairs. Kind of confused as to what they are trying to be. Michael was a decent server. Really disappointed because I wanted this to be a great experience.

Our family of 10 from Texas had such a wonderful experience at Goatfeathers!…read more From the moment we walked in, our host, Caitlin, made us feel so welcome. She genuinely enjoyed talking with us, made great conversation, and set the tone for a fantastic visit. Our waitress, Jen, was hands down a 10/10--the best waitress we've ever had! I seriously wish I could clone her. The kitchen was taking a very long time to get our food out, but Jen never let it affect our experience. She took matters into her own hands by bringing us fresh hush puppies while we waited. Even though a food runner was supposed to deliver our meals, she personally brought everything out herself because she cared about making sure we were taken care of. The kitchen delay wasn't her fault, but she handled it with professionalism, kindness, and a smile the entire time. To top it all off, she surprised us with a variety of complimentary desserts to take home because she felt so bad about the wait. That's exceptional customer service! And one more thing... try the gumbo! It was the best I've ever had. Thank you, Jen, for turning what could have been a frustrating wait into such a memorable dining experience. Goatfeathers is lucky to have you!
