First time here. And the service was great along with the taro milk tea. They have donuts and breakfast sandwiches and lunch also. When you come in you grab a piece of paper and write your order. This makes the process faster. We don't know ... oops. But it wasn't a problem :) definitely will return... better than going all the way to el cerrito! read more

Its a good spot. Donuts r fresh. Drinks r good. Caramel Frappe is the best. 4 star bcus of bagel sandwich. They r filled with hella lettuce, big ass pieces of cucumbers and fat tomato slice. And it makes the bagel looks huge but its just a waste of veggies. They need to slow down a bit on loading the veggies. Boba here is great, nice to have somewhere close without having to drive to Berkeley or San Francisco. The owner is SUPER friendly and seems to genuinely enjoy owning this place. When I was in High School, I didn't know anything about BOBA. I would get it with smoothies and think that was good stuff. Until I went to fantasia tea cafe and it completely blew my mind. I never knew what good boba was because I only had this location growing up. Now that I have a car I'll just drive to a good place to get it. Granted if I'm feeling lazy this is a pretty decent place to go and get some boba. They are cash only which sucks if you never carry cash on you like me. Also they have a bunch of computers there that customers who pay get to go on and use the internet and play games and such. Pretty much a virgin's paradise. Dear Tony, Please change your donut supplier. I can tell just by looking at it that they aren't fresh. I suggest getting donuts from Alamode in Pinole. To my Yelp readers: Most importantly, know that I do not recommend the donuts. Me being an optimistic risk taker every now and then will try a donut hole hoping the last time was just a bad experience, BUT I'm certain that the donuts are just days old leftovers from an actual donut shop. Boba drinks here will suffice only if you're craving boba and unwilling to drive far for fresh fruit smoothies/fresh brewed tea. These drinks are the knock offs, artificially-flavored fruit syrups that should never be compared to real boba milk tea spots. If you understand and accept that, you'll be content or at least not disappointed. Unless you are the only person there, you'll have to wait. Nice people but slow! read more

Boba places in my immediate area is pretty much non-existent so this place will have to suffice. The tapioca drinks are just ok. You can choose to have it over ice or slush. They use flavored syrups which make the drinks uber sweet and the tapioca is, more often than not, over cooked. They also serve sandwiches...not disgusting but you'll probably find it disappointing and a waste of money. 2 stars for the drinks, 1 star for being conveniently located. I'll go back because I need my boba fix, however, I know I'll be settling. read more

I love having the Cafe Tapioca in Hercules. Their donuts are fresh and they make great boba drinks. This morning I went in to buy some donuts and the owner, who is a bit on the gruffy side, was filling my order when I noticed another customer in the shop who was talking to himself loudly. It was obvious she wasn't bothered by his presence as he was helping himself to coffee while mumbling. It became clear to me that this was a homeless person who she said comes daily to get coffee. She was definitely not warm and fuzzy to him and scolded him for not bringing back his paper cup to reuse. But it warmed my heart to see the owner have such a giving heart to this man. Although the service hasn't always been perfect at the Cafe Tapioca I understand staffing can be a problem But I'm definitely committed to giving this place my business whenever I can because I want to support the generosity she shows to someone in the community who has far less than most of us. On point w/ service and in my eyes Coffee is Coffee since im not a drinker. Free W-Fi or internet on a local PC in the cafe. One thing that erks me is when the place is full of these online gamer geeks LOL then they all hog up the PC's. It might be a coffee and small baked good; at lunchtime it's always their turkey/cranberry sandwich. (I develop serious cravings for this). The staff is always warm and friendly, they will even bring water out to the dogs when we recover from a warm summer walk. I've been coming to Creekside Cafe on a fairly regular basis for quite some time. I remember when it was run by a young Chinese couple. They were cool, but they had computers set up along one of the walls. That side of the shop was always filled with dorky teens playing World of Warcraft. Since then, a young Cambodian lady named Amy has taken over at CC. Amy is always cheerful and polite. And the cafe is much nicer now. The computers are gone, along with the dirty wooden tables that had tons of graffiti scrawled on them. The place is much cleaner, brighter, and quieter. My kids love their donuts and I love their coffee. Win, win. The only reason I don't give Creekside Cafe a five-star rating is because they don't run the AC enough during the summertime. I really wanted to like this place and support a local mom and pop coffee shop. The place is pretty clean but needs a couch or something, those chairs are uncomfortable and old. Reminded me of the creaky chairs in high school. They do have FREE Wifi so that's a plus, I guess. The service was pretty good, the girl who helped me was very nice. Then came my drink...BORING, BLAH. Tasted more like watered down milk with a hint of espresso than a latte. Not sure, how you mess up on a latte but clearly they did. Last month we stopped here on a whim since I had been craving boba tea for a while. It was pretty busy and the workers seemed a bit overwhelmed, but super sweet! I had the Thai tea and he had some sort of fruit smoothie. Both were yummy! The part about this business that impressed me the most was not the drinks - after I paid (different person than the one who took our order) and started to walk out the door, the gentleman ran after me with some money in his hand stating that he over charged me. Okay, so...I kind of take back half of what I said in my last rating. After going to the dry cleaner's next door, I was walking to my car, saw the cafe, and decided, "Bah, why not. Maybe I'll just go for a simple Thai iced tea." With the new management, the place has gone through yet another makeover--one quite drastic enough that I seriously almost stepped back out of the cafe thinking "is this Creekside Cafe?" It may have been because it was late in the afternoon when I was there, but the place seemed darker. Counter was red, and the ceiling lights were now noticeably only on one side of the room. Well, anyway... I'm not sure if I just didn't realize during the times was last here that there actually exists a boba menu. What more, I'm talking about the Taiwanese-style boba that comes in the film-sealed plastic cups. It may have been that last time, I ordered a slush tapioca drink instead (the menu gives options for either iced or slush)...or maybe this menu really is a new thing? Tried the Mango Milk green tea with tapioca this time. A decent $2.95. When the drink came, I was delighted to find it in the cup I described a second ago. Not as much milk as I was expecting, but it still suited my taste. The tapioca was...alright. I'm thinking it's still the same as they've been making. The texture was a little better. A third of it ended up being stuck together as one big blob, which I fished out later with a spoon at home. Oh, well. Just for this, though, my hope for decent boba in Hercules has been restored. Still not the best, but it gets a fair regard in my book. I'll try another drink next time and see how it goes. Still haven't tried their donuts. Think I'll try some next time, too. One of the highlights of my trip! The turkey and cranberry on toasted sourdough with avocado sauce was delicious as was the blueberry donut, and the caramel tapioca iced drink was also really good. But bar far the most enjoyable part was the service. Owner Tony strives to take care of you and it was a joy to see him multi-task. Found this place for lunch, I wanted something different than Subway. I had the Turkey and ham on a croissant. The sandwich was fresh and the croissant was flaky and buttery. I don't normally order ham on a sandwich but this was good. Went back again today and had the combo on sourdough bread. Didn't like the dourbread as much as the croissant. Tony spoke to me in a tone and manner of disrespect no customer should ever experience. I called him to discuss this issue and he hung up the phone in my face. I first started coming here 6 years ago when I attended the high school down the street. It was mandatory that I had boba from here at least once a week. Now in my adult life it's mandatory I have the turkey bacon egg & cheese breakfast sandwich at least twice a week. I love this family business and hope it stays around many more years read more

Creekside Cafe is one of the first places I started to patronize three years ago. They have GREAT blueberry muffins. They are soft, not oily and have plump juicy blueberries in them. I found out they get it from a vendor in Concord. They actually remind me of the muffins I used to get at Javaholics in SF which make them fresh every morning. The staff seems to have changed recently, but the old staff always remembered what I liked and wanted. Plusses are the community bulletin board that they have where local businesses can place their cards and small ads. And the free wi-fi at the cafe which came in handy for me while I was killing time between meetings. Their food pickings are slim but their prices and the prices are average. read more

This place is alright, but the coffee was luke warm at best. The pasteries are presented in the case still in their bakery boxes, a little effort presentation would be good. The cookie I got though was pretty good. They also seemed to have other impulse buys like toys or something still in the shipping boxes? Kinda tacky. Lighting isn't that great. I do have to say that the place did have a TON of kids playing on the computers. I might be back as alternative to Starbucks down the road, but the coffee and cookie was good, although the coffee was cold. read more
