They need operational help in a big way. A man I presume is the owner had children taking orders and running credit cards. They did their best but still, I had to make sure I got the card back and it was a bit awkward. After orders were taken, the adult ran about in a state of disorder and inefficient deployment. I could hear him in the back yelling at someone for making a drink incorrectly and "f-ing it up!" He was also telling the young boy (maybe 8) to make a drink. I ordered two donuts and a boba tea. Donuts were excellent--I'd give 4-5 stars. Bobas were deteriorating as if they'd been sitting around in liquid too long. One star. All this together and outside of the whole unpleasant experience, doesn't inspire confidence that proper food handling is happening. O_o Most upset that he puts the children in a bad spot. Kids don't need unnecessary stress; I can forgive a lot for an owner-run business, but not that. read more

Soft and fluffy donuts and my favorite avocado shake. They use fresh avocado and it's always creamy and never too sweet. The boba in the shake is always chewy and soft. I haven't tried anything else from here besides the donuts and a few of the fruit blended drinks, but everything always comes out great. Support local! read more

This little place is located around the corner from Refugio Park. Kind of stumbled on it by accident heading to the UPS store in the same parking lot. I always wondered how to get to this Home Depot and Big Lots that you can clearly see from the freeway! LOL Now I know. I can also pick up a little boba treat on the way out at this sweet spot! This is the first location that I have ever come across that offered the option to make the drinks less sweet! Which I love, having changed up my eating habits for healthier options I am finding my palate is far more sensitive to sweet, salty etc.. and a little really goes a long way! Arrived just in time ahead of the a rush of people. They have a sign on the wall that says cash only, but they do allow payment by card. I feel like there was only one person working, but maybe there was a hidden talent in the back assisting her as well.. she was able to pump the drinks out pretty quick if she was solo. My only heads up is all the tables are far too low and so hit your knees when sitting down to catch up with friends. The tables outside are the same. If they would upgrade the tables to make them higher or the chairs to make them lower I would easily give this place a 4 star rating. I want to emphasize the customer service at this location because I feel it was a cut above the average. After all the drinks were done, she came out from behind the counter and stopped at our table asking how we liked our drinks and welcomed the feedback very graciously! Review #174 - 2016 This place is conveniently located right around the Refugio Park, which the kids and I have been frequenting lately. The first time we showed up, the place was quite busy so the drinks took a while to make, but the owner was very friendly and accommodating. He personally brought us our drinks rather than just calling us over to get them from the counter. Each of the kids got a different type of drink and said that they were pretty good. Joshua also ordered a tuna croissant sandwich, which he seemed to enjoy as well. We've also had the donut holes, which I thought was pretty decent. I had my usual drink, a jasmine milktea with grass jelly. The drink itself was just average. It's not great, but it does satisfy the milktea cravings. The kids, however, love coming here because they don't enjoy driving more than five minutes to get anywhere. The last few times that I brought the kids back, the owner recognized them and he would always treat them really well, even when I'm waiting in the car. I give them 3 stars for the drinks/food, but the extra star is for great customer service. I live in the community and as much as possible that I'd like to support our businesses in our town but unfortunately with a bad and a hostile attitude of the owner of the Cafe Tapioca is not a place to be comfortable and a friendly place to support. The owner is not open minded to listen from his customer concern and safety. Where can you find a business with a big sign that says "I'm the boss and the owner....." next to his cash register. Do you think this is a place to go and feel comfortable? I only go here to buy my lottery tickets but because of his rude and unprofessional attitude that I've experience today that I will not go back and support the place. I'm thinking to file a formal complaint of harassment. I went there as a decent customer and I feel like that I should be respected as his regular customer. read more

I never knew this place served boba drinks! Aside from that, there's also coffee, donuts, sandwiches, and salads on their menu. I didn't get to try those items as I came here strictly for the boba. The boba is pretty decent. I ordered a regular sized green tea drink without milk and tapioca balls. It was sweet but not overly sweet which I liked. The tapioca balls tasted just about the same as other places which isn't a bad thing. Also, the size is very comparable to other boba places. For about $3-4, I was satisfied with my drink order. Be sure to bring cash though. It's a $6.00 minimum for credit/debit cards. I really like this place and will be coming back soon. The lobby is clean and it's close to other restaurants which is great when you want boba drinks after a meal. The owner is also very nice. If I'm in a mood for a good sandwich this is usually my go-to spot. The Club House sandwich is my favorite, but their other selections are good as well. Different bread such as white and whole wheat is available if you dislike the default bread the sandwich comes with. I have noticed various times that the meat can be a little skimpy, while other instances it's just enough, so beware of that. Also a little pet peeve I have is that when I order a Club House, it is always not cut all of the way through so I have to tear the bread creating a little mess... They're also a bit more expensive than what I would like. ($5-6+) I'm not so much a fan of their beverages. Their boba/bubble tea is just so-so, as I'm not a fan of the artificial flavors and I dislike the chunks of ice they have in it. It's nothing compared to other boba places like Quickley's. They do have a selection using real fruit which I have not tried, but I plan on doing so in the future. The coffee isn't bad. They have, I believe, 2 or 3 different self-serve coffee dispensers. The espressos are a good option if you're not in a mood for Starbucks. I usually get a mocha, but there are times when it comes a bit too sweet and not enough of that nice coffee flavor. The service is good and prompt. Order your drinks and/or food, wait, and there you go. It's always good when they greet you with a smile. Whenever I'm there, it's not really filled with people so it would be a good little spot to hangout and drink boba or have a sandwich. Overall, I would give this little place 3 1/2 stars (since Yelp doesn't allow halves and I don't believe in giving them a 4, I'll just leave it a 3 for now). Finally yelp lets me update this review! I think the shop changed names, because I definitely thought this was a new place when we started going back. Every Sunday we stop in for a donut, and this place is great! Donuts are good, price is good, and the wait isn't bad (even with the surge after the recent incident, it was maybe 10 minutes with the line waaaay out the door). I come here all the time after school(5+ years)! Been here through all their owners haha, but I can say Tony and his family are the best. He always greets me nicely and was the only owner that actually remembered by face from me coming so often. When I'm not there for awhile he asks me where and how I've been. I usually just come for milk tea, but their sandwiches are great for a quick lunch with a friend. My usual order is hot ham and cheese on a croissant and almond milk tea. All kinds of amazing from this place. I have had there boba and donuts and wow am I pleased. When I stop by this place I make sure to pick up my usual strawberry and banana boba. It's amazing. I haven't changed flavors but I realize that I should so I can try something else that will wow me. I picked up a box of assorted donuts for my department today at work and I was loving every bite. Out of that dozen donuts i had a all chocolate sprinkle donut and half of the blueberry donut. I was loving it. This obviously makes Safeway and lucky donut look very sad. Honestly surprised that the Boba from this placed turned out to be decent. I thought it was going to be 2 star quality. When we came here it was pretty dead. No customers at all. I got the Passion Fruit Green Tea and my bf got the Thai tea. The boba was actually really fresh! My passion fruit green tea was a sort of thick consistency but maintained a great tea infused flavor. Really enjoyed it! The Thai tea was a bit too creamy for me, but still good. The crushed ice with the drink was a a good icy, crisp whenever I sipped on my drink. They also sell a variety of donuts and other pastries. There isn't a lot of each type though (probably because it doesn't get too busy to its better to keep their goodies made at a minimum). They have lunch items too, but eating here doesn't look too appealing for actual meals. read more

It's a very cramped place where kids hang out after school. They even closed for 15 minutes during open hours.
