Drinks: 5/5 The matcha drinks tasted premium and well-made. I tried the hojicha and was really pleased with the overall flavor. The menu also includes short descriptions, which helps when choosing drinks you haven't seen before. Customer Service: 5/5 The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They answered our questions about the unique drink options and made the experience feel welcoming. Ambiance: 5/5 The vibe was chill and mellow, perfect for relaxing and enjoying your drink. There are a few tables inside, plus cute merch available. Parking: 4/5 Parking spaces are a bit tight, but availability was good when we stopped by in the evening. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm around town.
I've been looking for a new cute cafe spot in Long Beach to enjoy some coffee and chill and this was a good spot to go to if you're in the area. I read a few reviews how it's spacious, however I found it to be smaller than I thought. Because of busy it was for a Friday morning, seating was limited as most people were there studying/working or socializing. Staff were very nice and friendly and worked quickly despite the rush. I ordered an iced banana latte and it was good! I would say it was more a hint of banana. I also tried their chocolate croissant which was a good size for breakfast and was perfectly toasted. Most people come here for their matcha so I'd have to give that a try next time. While there is a parking lot, parking was a bit challenging as this coffee shop is in the same lot as a lot of other businesses.
Cute little spot to catch up with a friend! We went with the cashier's recommendations: Banana Matcha Latte & Strawberry Matcha. The matcha was surprisingly dark and thick, but craaazy sweet! I definitely gotta ask for reduced sweetness next time. When I come back, I might try their Banana Latte instead :)
The matcha is smooth and earthy without tasting bitter, while the banana flavor adds this creamy sweetness that almost tastes like banana pudding in drink form. It's rich, balanced, and not overloaded with sugar like a lot of trendy matcha spots. The layers and presentation are super clean too, and you can tell they use quality matcha because the flavor still comes through instead of getting drowned out by milk or syrup. The vibe inside is chill, modern, and perfect for catching up with friends or getting work done. Definitely a spot I'd keep coming back to for matcha runs.
You know what considering how f*cken busy it was... I'm talking line out the door, full house in this mfer I got my drink pretty quick. Especially since I came on a Saturday between 12:30-2:00 PM, which is peak hours. I was a little intimidated at first because it was like 90% women, and I had a shirt on that said "kinda fit kinda fat," so I thought I might offend somebody lol. Anyways, if I'm around the area, I'd definitely stop by again considering how spacious it is and how fast the line moved. The coffee itself was good you can see and taste the crema, which tells me the espresso was pulled correctly. No burnt taste at all. The spot is aesthetically pleasing, super clean, and offers more than just coffee. I also did some research on the company because I was curious, and I respect that the owner really started from the bottom. It was about 4 years in the making as she started by creating her own house-macerated fruit/compotes, doing pop-ups, and selling them in jars before incorporating them into beverages. Those are the kinds of stories I like to hear. It shows she didn't just jump into opening a cafe with no experience she actually put in the work, experimented with flavors for years, and understands what pairs well together. It's a craft I can respect, especially when you see so many new coffee shops opening up using Torani or Monin syrups without really mastering the fundamentals first.
This is my first time at Cafe the Scoop in Long Beach. It is located in a small strip mall. It is a Korean-inspired coffee shop. According to Google, It is known for its high-quality matcha drinks, creative lattes, and house-made puddings, especially the banana pudding. They use fresh ingredients like natural fruit syrups. Some Popular items include scoop lattes, matcha lattes (especially with pudding), and pastries like kouign-amann. See full menu in attached pictures. The Interior is spacious, bright, fresh and inviting with natural elements and a very relaxing jazz music playing in the background. It offers a cozy atmosphere with free Wi-Fi and outlets, making it a great spot for studying, I had the scoop Latté which is a cold drink made with sweetened espresso, milk of choice and vanilla cold foam. It is topped With a Palmier cookie and cocoa powder. I also had an almond croissant. My drink was really good. The croissant was good but no different than anywhere else. Prices are reasonable, and the young staff is really friendly. I was there for about an hour, and it was very busy. The crowd was mostly college students. I really enjoyed my first visit. I highly recommend trying them out.
Super yums! My friend and I came in on a Sunday morning and it wasn't too busy. We got our drinks within 10 minutes and set up shop to get some work done for the next few hours. There are several tables and outlets so it is a good study cafe. But onto the drinks! We got a matcha latte (75% sweet) and a matcha einspanner, both of which were amazing. I will admit that I got almond milk instead of oat which was a mistake because almond milk has a strong flavor so I couldn't taste the matcha as much, but that was definitely my bad. It was still super smooth and the perfect sweetness level so I couldn't complain! My friend for the matcha einspanner which she said was really good, a bit on the sweeter side, but perfect if you like your matcha sweet. She tried the banana matcha before and liked that one more than the einspanner though. Overall, I would come back and try their other offerings! Next time without almond milk though haha. I came here because I heard their matchas are good and they're not... They're amazing! Best flavored matchas around. I love the banana and strawberry matcha. Plus I can get it with oatmilk. It's always so rich in flavor without diminishing the flavor of the matcha. Look how green that drink is! That's some strong matcha Always friendly service here and love that there's enough room to sit and hang out or work.
Yummy coffee shop in a nice area. I saw lots of people going for runs or walking their dogs nearby. This place is right in the corner of a weirdly shaped parking lot. There's a good amount of seating inside and it was a nice place to sit and enjoy our drinks Scoop latte: 4/5 this wasn't bad but I like super sweet coffee so this was a little bitter for me. It's prob pretty sweet to most people though Banana pudding: 4/5 I liked this a lot and ended up putting some of the pudding into my coffee like extra cream top and mixed it in Def would wanna try the banana latte next time I'm back
4.5 stars rounding up to 5 Came on a Saturday right at 9am opening and there was already 5 people ahead of me. The inside looked really aesthetic and clean. The employees were friendly! We ordered the: - Banana Matcha Latte w/ oat milk: delicious! You can taste real banana chunks on the bottom. We got it 50% sweet since the banana makes the drink sweeter - Matcha Latte w/ oat milk: got it 75% sweet and it was the right amount of sweetness. You can taste the matcha and overall refreshing drink. This would be a cute date spot. There's a few tables and seats inside. There's also a restroom inside which was clean. We sat there for a bit and there was consistently a line. Would come back again if in the area!
I was expecting more quality matcha but it was somewhat disappointing...though the store was super busy. This is between boba and a speciality coffee shop ceremonial matcha. Though the color of the matcha was super green, it definitely was not high grade matcha - and a little on the sweeter side for me. We also got their coffee, which I feel the same-a bit too sweet and in between Starbucks and boba shop.
Stopped by Cafe the Scoop and it's a sleeper spot. Clean, minimalist aesthetic with a peaceful ambiance -- the kind of place where you can grab a coffee, lock in, and get some work done without distractions. Service was quick with warm hospitality, which always sets the tone. I ordered the Matcha Latte with oatmilk (hot) and it was smooth, well-balanced, and freshly prepped. If you're in Long Beach and need a calm coffee break or a new workspace vibe, this one's worth the pull-up. Quiet, clean, and dialed in.

I came and got the strawberry matcha with oat milk and it was so good! The matcha taste is very prevalent but not grassy, which is amazing! It was a bit busy when I went but the service was fast. The matcha here is very good. I got a matcha latte with oat milk. The drink comes sweetened, it was a bit too sweet for my liking, but now I know in the future to ask for less sweet. My sister got a strawberry matcha and it was delicious! I will definitely come back again in the future. The baristas were very kind and look like they know what they are doing. The place itself is very, very cute and seems like an excellent work spot, but also a place you may or may not have to fight a seat for. One thing I would pinpoint is that when I got my latte, the matcha was on the side of the cup (for presentation purposes I believe) and on the bottom... Eh... I am not a huge fan of that unless it is an einspanner! Mixing the matcha with my milk seems a bit tedious heh... I rather just get my latte mixed when I first get it, But that's just me! First time here with my sister and the employees were so nice, polite and welcoming!! The atmosphere and vibe of the shop was also nice. The banana matcha latte was great, did not taste like artificial banana but more like a real one which was always my disappointment with previous places. I would def recommend and come back to try the coffee next!! read more
I'm so glad that a cafe that sells quality matcha opened up this close to me! Their matcha einspanner was absolutely DELICIOUS and I thankfully got to snag it at an extra great price on the last day of their grand opening. Would highly recommend their matcha einspanner, just make sure to give it a decent mix since they line the cup with the matcha. My boyfriend ordered the cold brew einspanner~ thought the cream was delicious and the coffee wasn't bitter. He thought it was a little too sweet, so perhaps consider making adjustments if that's your preference. Also, there's a decent amount of seating inside and the decor is cute. I've been here twice already, and both times, the service and drinks were delicious! This is my new go-to place for recommending my friends try it. I tried Scoop latte, which was bomb because you can taste the quality of the coffee they use. It's super cute to take pics with the cookie that the drink comes from. I also tried their Strawberry Matcha and the richness of the matcha is so good! I love how refreshing the strawberry made the drink taste! Can't wait to come back to try their other drinks! read more

Such a hidden gem in Long Beach! The space is calm and beautifully designed, and the staff is incredibly kind. I had their signature matcha and was blown away--so smooth, rich, and clearly made with care. Loved the unique touch of Korean "cheong" syrups too--so refreshing and different. Service was great and everyone was really nice! The store is very clean, spacious, and decorative. The matcha einspanner was a little too sweet for me but they only have half sweet or no sweet, so I just stuck with regular sweetness. Definitely getting half sweet next time. read more
After a nice walk at the nature center, I was craving a little coffee treat. I'm usually a black coffee kind of person, but every now and then I want something a little fancier. My girlfriend found this spot because she loves matcha, and it did not disappoint. I ordered The Scoop Latte--it was so creamy and delicious, with amazing foam on top. I really appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, which is always a win in my book. The presentation was super cute too--especially with the little palmier cookie perched on top. I'm not usually a huge fan of those types of cookies, but I got it anyway just because it made the drink look so pretty (no regrets). The staff was friendly and full of good energy, and the vibe of the place is clean, modern, and inviting. Great seating options too. first time going- soo cute inside and the workers are so kind!! heads up it does get packed in the late afternoon (3ish) on weekdays since it's right by a highschool. i got the scoop latte- comes with a yummy croissant cookie and is on the stronger but also sweeter side of coffee. my boyfriend got the cold brew- wasn't bitter and one of the best ones he's had definitely coming here again!! :) read more
Great spot! Banana matcha was fantastic, tasted like a matcha covered banana. Drinks are sweeter here, however they will adjust it to your liking before and after your order in case it doesn't match your expectations. I got my banana matcha at 50% sweet, but it tasted what I would have expected to be full- sweet. Then again, I usually lean toward less sweet drinks. I would perhaps lower your sugar level by 25% of what you would typically get elsewhere. The customer service is incredibly welcoming, the atmosphere is clean, bright, and cute, bathroom is clean, and they have some awesome homemade syrups that can be purchased for home! Banana and strawberry pudding and excellent pastries also for purchase! So many good points about this place. Extra shout out to the customer service, kindest welcome I've had in a while! My only wish is that they offered reusable cups - so much waste that can be avoided. read more

Small cafe on the corner in Long Beach. Pretty nice vibes and very busy as soon as I walked in. I asked the lady if she would recommend either the Spanish latte or banana latte and she said the banana so I ordered it. Drinks came out quick and the baristas are very nice and friendly. Everything about this cafe seems high quality and exceptional with service; however, my specific drink was too sweet to my preference. The banana greatly overpowered the coffee flavor and left a very pungent aftertaste. Maybe I'll try something other than banana next time! read more

From the deep green color of the drinks, I could tell I would be in for a treat. The matcha here is some of the best (if not, the best) I've had! It was rich and strong, but still smooth and creamy. A matcha einspanner is one of my favorite drinks, and this cafe did not disappoint. Some places lose the matcha flavor within the cream, but the integrity of the matcha at Cafe the Scoop came through deliciously. I also got the strawberry matcha for my sister, and it was delicious as well! Hers had an even deeper color and stronger matcha flavor. I loved that the strawberry syrup didn't overwhelm the drink, and wasn't overly sweet. There were also chunks of real strawberries! I normally don't favor flavored matcha drinks, but this is one I would definitely get for myself. The interior was clean, minimal, and cozy. My favorite design aspect was the handwritten descriptions on the glass of the dessert/drink fridge! Despite it not being the largest space, there was a good amount of seating. It seems like the perfect place for studying, catching up with a friend, or even reading a book. I loved the music they played and thought it was perfect for a chill Saturday. The staff was also very kind and didn't hesitate to help any way they could! This is a cafe I would recommend to anyone. My favorite spot for a matcha einspanner was previously Long Black Coffee in Fountain Valley, but Cafe the Scoop really outdid themselves. At $8, the price is steep, but this seems like a small business worth supporting! I have my eye on one of their desserts to try next time. read more

i've probably been to this cafe an unhealthy amount of times, quite literally my fav cafe i have not had a drink from here that i DIDN'T like. the place is small but so cute (i will say it's always freezing buttttt that's okay) the staff is always nice! genuinely no complaints :') * the matcha einspänner was so yummyyy the cream complimented the matcha very nicely! * zerooo complaints about the strawberry matcha fr, the strawberry puree was delish and mixed in so well with the matcha it wasn't overpowering! super refreshing (best i've had fr) ALSO they make their syrups/purées in house and is all so fresh and delishhhh * banana matcha SO GOOD, chai latte delishhhh, scoop latte simple but so enjoyable read more

Visited on a Sunday morning right before a rush but service was good! Employees were very sweet and recommended the banana and scoop late, which we got, and I really liked them both! The banana latte was one of my favorites, as it tasted real, and the scoop latte was very nice! I had the matcha einspanner and matcha latte and they were delicious! Not so sweet but it was perfect for me! The service was fast despite it being busy. The workers were also very friendly! I also got their strawberry cheong and they even included a little slip for directions and tips for making drinks at home and preserving the cheong! Definitely coming back for their matcha! read more
