After a long absence my wife and I stopped in for lunch at Cafe Wild. To be honest, in those past visits (back when it first opened), we weren't too wowed, it was just ok. So when we got there it was nice to see a fully revamped menu. While we were there service was good, prompt and friendly - perfect for a casual neighborhood restaurant. I ordered the Honey Sriracha Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich with fries and the wife had the Vegan Hash with an egg on top. I've got to say that sandwich was excellent. The combo honey and sriracha was a real winner and put the sandwich way better than the usual fried chicken sandwich. The wife enjoyed her vegan hash as well. Besides the AVERAGE eh meal, I ordered coffee and after my 3rd sip, I felt an odd texture in my mouth, I thought maybe it was some food that got in, and i see that its a dead fly! I showed the owner she was nice about it and apologized BUT all she did was comp my coffee and take 15% of the entire bill. That is something you do if you find hair, but a DEAD FLY?...Completely disgusting and ruined my experience and mood. This was a lovely place for a late brunch! A pleasant surprise, there was no wait (arrived at around 1pm on a Sunday), and boy what a lovely spot! It's a very chill vibe and the service was just perfect! I got the bottomless mimosas and was delighted that our server made sure that my glass was never empty! The Point Break Sandwich made me want to say "I am an FBI Agent", then go grab a board and rip the waves after jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. Idk if that's a thing there but we did, maybe they were short staff idk. Also the waiter brought my French toast out and it was cold. It took like 30 min to bring out my steak and eggs. I believe anyone who was a fan of Four Daughters, which was the name of the restaurant prior to it being Cafe Wild, loves this place even more because it is definitely a lot more up-beat and modern. Personally, I was not a fan of this place before the name change or now. For starters, there is not a large variety of poultry. Everything seems to be pork. They have just a few veggie options. I ordered a breakfast bacon sandwich with potatoes and a stack of pancakes. Everything looked delicious! However, the breakfast sandwich literally only had one piece of bacon. The pancakes were hard and had no flavor. The potatoes were probably the best option. Also, the eggs in my sandwich were not fully cooked. The service completely sucked. It felt like everyone working there had their minds focused on doing everything at all once, that they couldn't keep things right. The waiter had said they would bring us "salsa roja and salsa verde," but they never returned. The coffee was room temperature when served. We waited 30 minutes waiting for the check. We sat outside (**I don't believe you can have mimosas if you choose to enjoy the weather, but we only wanted coffee so we were good!). Went to Cafe Wild today for a very nice brunch. As their name implies, they have made to order gourmet coffee. You can order regular drip, espresso, latte, cappuccino, cortado, macchiato, etc. They use beans from La Colombe which is pretty damn delicious if you're a fan of good coffee. The cortado is one of their specialties which is a shot of espresso with warm or steamed milk which makes for a really smooth way to sip on your caffeine fix while enjoying breakfast. When you take in the aroma and then a little sip, you'll realize that the balance of flavor is just perfect; not overly acidic, and not too bitter. The food is also very good. For brunch my girlfriend and I shared the brioche French toast, she had the veggie omelette and I had the steak and eggs. Their French toast was topped with big blueberries, sliced strawberries, drizzled with syrup, and a dollop of butter; it was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The omelette was filled with a generous amount of spinach and cheese. My steak was cooked perfectly to my order of medium doneness. Service is attentive and willing to accommodate requests. I'll definitely be back again, and if you haven't been, it's worth your time to check it out for a meal or grab a coffee and pastry for a morning walk along the beach. read more

I've been here a few times and really like it, but there are a few issues. $13 for a Bloody Mary is insane. At least it came with a piece of bacon, but still. The fries that come with the sandwiches are mediocre and you need more of them. The fried chicken sandwich is way too spicy! Raw jalapeños are probably not the best idea. My fish tacos were made with salmon, not my favorite type of fish in a taco, I wish they clarified that on the menu. I love the buratta & prosciutto plate and the short rib grilled cheese is amazing! I also love that they are paperless. Everyone is super friendly that works here, but I don't think it's the best service. There is one guy who is really good though. Location: easy to find, but it is hard to find a parking around. So, be ready to walk about 0.3-0.5 miles to get to it unless you go very early. Service: very fast! The waiters were very understanding and took the order right. Food: nothing special! I ordered the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon! The egg part was delicious and the salmon was fresh and well made. Much to our chagrin, it seemed to be the hangout for some of Manhattan Beach's "mommies" as there were a lot of strollers parked in the walkway, but that is not the restaurant's fault, just the mommies who can't seem to figure out how much space they take up. The food was tasty and seemed very fresh. I thought my eggs benedict was just okay, and probably wasn't the best menu item.
