This cafe had the most amazing bungeoppang (fish-shaped break)! I was blown away. I've had lots of it in Korea, but NEVER like this. It was like mochi and bread mixed into what. I loved it! This little cafe was a nice surprise. I thought we were just dropping in for some ice cream, but it turned out to be a hodge-podge of ice cream, bungeoppang, patbingsu (Korean shave ice) and cake. Caffe bene is great because it has parking and lots of seats. It has a nice decor and many seats. It also has many plugs for students, also free wifi. bring cash because there is a $10 minimum. Caffe bene can get super packed and loud during the rush hours, which doesn't make this place the best place to study. bene has many dessert options and drinks, including smoothies. with all the Korean bakeries there is one thing that they specialize in and for caffe bene its their toasts and waffles. my favorite is the cinnamon with whipped cream. I live walking distance from here and decided to take a look at this place because I would always see that there was a lot of people even during late nights. But I was disappointed with this place. I got a simple coffee, Iced Bubble Milk Tea, and 6 Macaroons. and Pros: The store has a very modern theme that is clean and cozy. My grandma said the coffee was good. Cons: The staff would mumble to me and started to give attitude because I asked literally 5 questions. The Bubble tea was horrible. The boba/bubble jelly was dried out and I ended up split most of it out because I could not even chew it. The Macaroons tasted as if it was previously frozen then thawed out. Overall, the place is good for a get together but there are definitely better places to go to. I used to come here pretty often due to the location to The Modern. However this would all change due to a multitude of incidents. I would have to agree that most, if not all, of the staff are measurably rude, racist, and anti-semitic. I've dealt with racism before but here is where it can be very apparent and obvious. The team member of concern is perhaps in her 30s, usually in a low-lying ponytail, and with anterior bangs. She told me that I could not sit in the "4-person-only" table because I was simply there by myself (or was my religion, ethnicity, facial features, or complexion the real reason?). Fair enough, I politely moved to another table. About a moment later, I notice a Korean lady sit in the 4-person-only table by herself for over 30 minutes. At that point I told and reported this to the staff, and they seemed confused, until I called them out on their microaggression. They then begrudgingly told the lady to move to a single-person seat. In a multicultural liberal region such as Fort Lee, NJ, I expect and have zero tolerance for racism and/or antisemitism. I tend not to be the Karen here, but I did report this to the better business bureau, and to city hall- hopefully mayor Mark Sokolich would agree that anti-semitism and racism have no place in Fort Lee. I will also report this antisemitic establishment to the anti defamation league, the ADL. I wish this place the best and a better effort to improve. read more

Beautiful atmosphere. All wood surrounding, plenty of light. Definitely a good place to hang out and catch up. And that's the problem. With free wifi, I can see people lingering here for the whole day. Their beverages are on the weaker side. I feel that the coffee is quite watered down. The waffle dessert is pricy but quite good. Their efficiency can use a lot of work. It took us close to 20 minutes to get our orders, which included a cup of coffee and plain waffle. I am not sure if they are profitable with the low client turnover and snail service and they are well staffed. A good addition to the neighborhood for sure regardless. read more

Very spacious, nice decor and ambiance, not loud so good for conversation. Came for some caffeine, but wasn't sure what I wanted. I was excited to see a cinnamon pumpkin latte advertised but then the lady said they didn't have it. So I said what about a pumpkin latte, she said no to that too. ): False advertising. They should really update those signs on the register. Had gotten my hopes up. Settled for a caramel latte which was pretty good so I'll give them that. Also my friend does come here a lot so that says something. They have ample parking and a wide variety of desserts and drinks, other than not having the cinnamon pumpkin latte. I always tell myself I will be adventurous and try some of the other flavors, like Taro, and yet I always find myself going for the green tea. Tried the vanilla latte and misugaru latte. Go for the misugaru latte. For Koreans, a misugaru latte is the opposite of frozen hot chocolate- a hot version of a very good summer drink that I drank cold all my life. Tons of seating and cozy wooden box atmosphere- u have to be in it to understand. (It is not a coffin.) Ever have your name butchered by the barista? I usually make up names to avoid that. Here, no one asks for your name. You get vibrating disks identical to the ones you get at Cheesecake Factory so you can be seated. These disks at Caffe Bene let you know that your coffee drinks are ready. I approve. I hope Caffe Bene opens up in SF... for all the gourmet coffee shops in this town, I need less artisanal beans and more Korean cafes with ambiance!!! read more

This is another typical caffebene. At least for me the coffee was mediocre, honey due bubble tea was mediocre. Waffle was alright. Then the server was not that attentive while being busy talking to her coworkers. To top it off, Internet didn't work for the whole two hours I stayed there. I think three star was a generous one. A while ago the coffee was great, not so much anymore even in the Palisades Park location. The lattes are good, but if it is really crowded you have to wait a while. They have an assortment of different pasteries including scones and muffins which are good. The red velvet cake is really good and the pistachio cheesecake is too, although a stingy slice for $5. I come here all the time to study simply because of the atmosphere/ambience. The place is reminiscent of a library with bookshelves and random decorative pieces. Although wi-fi can get spotty, especially with a lot of people, and it can get quite loud, it beats the local library for me just because with kids running around, THAT could get even louder! I tried patbingsoo, chocolate cake, red velvet cake, and a croissant sandwich a few times and all were delicious. I mean i felt bad since the workers behind the counter seemed stressed already from the piling orders, but I've experienced similar service almost every single time I come in here. This is a really spacious cafe right in the middle of Fort Lee. Quiet and good seating makes it pretty good place to just hang out with friends or study alone. We didn't try their bakery or food so could only speak about the cold drinks. Had couple bubble teas here that I was very pleased with. The coffee was good! Even if I did steal the one, two...ten sips from my husband's coffee. I opted for the green tea ice cream which was also very delightful. Someone introduced us by saying let's get some coffee there's this really great new coffee shop in our area. And so we went. It was very much occupied on a typical Saturday afternoon. We had to manage 3 people with a table for two, but our neighbor wasn't too sad to let us have a third chair. Many patrons worked/read/played/watched something on their laptops. Many singles (as in people sitting by themselves), I don't really know their marital status. Some groups of 3 or more chatting away. Despite all the chatting it wasn't too overbearingly loud, as some other coffee shops tend to get. A good place to grab bubble tea after eats. This is one of the few places that doesn't overload on the sugar, which is a delicate like. They have gelato that they serve here as well which is very tasty. Real cozy atmosphere, feels like a wide open cabin/library combined. You'll get what I mean when you enter the building. Decided to get some dessert after dinner on Valentine's day and did not regret it. 1. The price is a little much for a slice of cake but since I don't indulge often with desserts it was worth it 2. I got the pistachio cheesecake and it had actual pieces of pistachios in it. If I could give no stars I would.. just came here during my lunch break.. BEWARE of their pastries, (forgot to take a photo) of it since I was livid that they would even sell moldy goods. Because the lighting is dim u can't tell when you buy it. I went out side and saw that the muffin I bought was colored weird (blueberry muffin) shouldn't be green.. Then when I looked closer there were spores of mold everywhere it was hairy and disgusting.. I went back to see if the other muffins on the shelf had them too.. which they did!!! Man. I really want to hate this place and never give them my business but I end up going because people I'm with suggest it and/or it's convenient. The area is spacious. There's free wi-fi. The handful of desserts that I've gotten here have not been that great (and definitely not worth the cost). Waffle is just ok (I think that idea of the waffle was more delicious than when I actually ate it), the cakes were meh (the 2.99 cakes you can get at shoprite are way better), the honey toast was probably the best thing i had there and even that was just ok (I mean how can honey toast not be delicious?) i usually like to get the misugaru latte - it's definitely a rip off - i could/should probably make it at home... but that's what i usually get. yeah, so it doesn't seem completely terrible, right? well, except for the SLOW and sometimes TERRIBLE service it's not that bad. EXCEPT, there's a woman at the register - who is apparently the owner - who has RBF, is really curt and is actually downright rude. you would think the owner would be nicer/friendlier? but she's worse than the employees there, or more accurately, the employees are nicer/friendlier/more helpful than her. smh. this lady does not know the meaning of customer service. i haven't seen her there recently... but even when she's not there - i really don't want to go because... she owns the place... and i don't really want to give her my business. you might think, who cares? and yeah, maybe i would agree with you. because when you don't want to go to starbucks, there are limited options because crome sucks. paris baguette doesn't have enough seating. and tea bar is overpriced. read more

Absolutely ridiculous employee. I write this review not to prevent you from going to caffe bene but to share this story to warn you from the experience we experienced. I came here with my parents and our family friends. We ordered the Misugaru Bingsu. The order came out and we heard our name called, so we came to the pick up station & the employee gave it to us. HE gave it to us and we accepted. Halfway done with our bingsu, he comes up to us and asks to see our receipt. Confused but we listened. He then continues to say "You said your name was Daniel. You remember me giving you the bingsu. I gave it to you because you said you were Daniel." All of us, especially my mother, who he was directly speaking to. My mother said she did not hear the name Daniel when the bingsu came out, nor did the rest of us. Even though it was not our fault, we simply took what was given to us. He continued to look directly at my mom and state to her "Why did you take it when you're not Daniel? We're busy and you just messed me up. Next time hear it correctly and don't take what isn't yours." And he walked away. All of us were completely shook. I'm not sure what he expected to get out of speaking to customer like that and scolding us, when it was he who made the mistake. This was beyond disrespectful and ridiculous. Where did my order of bingsu go then? Clearly someone only made 1 bingsu when there should have been 2. And they gave it to the wrong person without checking if this order was for the right customer. And didn't make the second one. And then he the audacity to scold a customer???!!!!!! Confused and shook. Absolutely RIDICULOUS. I hope you see this caffe bene and I hope you, the employee, who spoke to my mother that way is reading this. I will be back to get your name. I love Caffé Bene. It's definitely one of my favorite local caffe. Not only do they have amazing customer service but their drinks are amazing. The taro bubble tea tastes great as well as their dark hot chocolate which is super frothy and smooth. I recommend their waffles. They are worth the price and are really cheap for a combination of a waffle and toppings of fruits (depending on which waffle order you choose.) I will definitely come more often. read more
