Cozy dining experience with delicious food. I've tried all 3 other sister restaurants (Savio Volpe, Pepino's, and Elio Volpe), and this was on par! I'd say Savio is still my favourite out of the 4, but Caffe La Tana didn't disappoint. Loved their plate of warm assorted olives for $6. Pine Mushroom arancini ($20) was deep fried perfectly with a crunch, but the mushroom flavour was too light. Dip was good, but very generic, like a lightly flavoured mayo/aioli. Deep fried scallop and prawn In Carozza ($19) was flavourful and so juicy, while the outer shell was light and crispy. Lastly, the pasta was amazing, sort of like a gnocchi with braised beef (or was it pork)? Anyways, the meat was very tender and the sauce works perfectly. Lovely pasta dish that I'd order again and would recommend! The table next to us told us we had to order it, and I'm glad we listened. Small menu, there's 1 pasta permanently on the menu, and I believe the other 2 are rotational. Also got 2 alcoholic drinks. Bill total for two people was about $120 without tax and top. Staff were friendly. It's a small dimly lit and casual restaurant, with tightly packed tables that you'll need to squeeze by to get into your seat. Great for date night, and I highly recommend a reservation as the restaurant is quite small. It's physically attached to Pepino, which is also worth checking out! (Especially their pizza).

My friend recommended this spot, so I went here for brunch on a recent weekend. I made reservations online, and arrived on time and was seated immediately. This place is very cozy. We tried the following: - Flame Seared Albacore: Good. Nicely presented, and you could taste each and every ingredient on the plate. - Burrata for Two: Good. I liked the addition of the grape conserva to add sweetness, and he crispy sage to add some earthiness and texture - Featured Pasta: Good. This is what I really wanted to try, and it delivered. Nice sauce, but thought the pasta was slightly overcooked. Service was friendly, but otherwise pretty standard. Overall a good meal. I feel it's a comfortable spot where I feel old friends could just spend a couple hours on good, simple food and socializing. Prices were fairy reasonable too. I would come back if in the area.

We absolutely loved Caffe La Tana! Went there for a date night on a random Wednesday - the atmosphere is intimate but slightly laid back. Very cute decor. I would recommend making a reservation as it's a cozy space and seems quite popular. We shared several dishes and loved everything although I think instead add of sharing appies we would just share 2 pastas as we found those to be the best.

Went here for dinner on the recommendation of my dinner companions. I had been here once before but forgot! Yesterday it was better than I remembered but I went at 5 PM. The service was most excellent. The place itself was very nice but it's too small and crowded for me. At least it wasn't as loud as it was the last time I went (we left at 7 and the place was packed!!! I guess that's to show the popularity). I could still hear the other people I was with but I guess I don't like that level of noise when I'm trying to have a meaningful conversation. But that's just me. No one else had a problem. The food was very good. The focaccia was delicious and they were generous with portions (not one piece per guest). The pasta was cooked just right. I recommend the radiatore and the meatballs!!! Two of us had the vongole - we always have that everywhere we go and I can't say it was the best I've had but it was tasty. Prices were reasonable as well. Oh yeah - The tiramisu was excellent!!

Small plates. Good Italian wine and very friendly and efficient service. We arrived with no reservations hoping to get in. They said an hour or more for a wait but it was less than 20 minutes. Really great food, fresh and delicious. The stuffed pasta was so light and delicious with a great passata fresh sauce. They usually have one or two special pasta dishes. Just a very little neighborhood place and doesn't appear to be in a great neighborhood but I would go here every time in Vancouver. Just go there!

A small, intimate, Italian cafe-style setting. It's part of the Banda Volpi restaurants - Savio Volpe, Elio Volpe, Pepinos (which is next door). This place is smaller than the others and feels more like a casual Italian cafe/wine bar in comparison. We shared a few different plates and drinks. They recommend 4 or 5 plates between two people, depending on how hungry you're feeling. We tried: - Burrata with House Foccacia ($26): It's garnished with some apple, pine and herbs. Good, but perhaps not so good for the price. - Beet & Citrus Salad ($24): It's a vibrant salad, lots of good flavours with some orange, feta, nuts, and beets. -Braised Beef Shin ($34): This was great. A decent hunk of delightfully tender beef shin. Comes with a celeriac purée, mushrooms, and some salsa. - Pappardelle (one of the specials): Can't recall too many specifics on this one. I think it would have been better to go with their radiatore pasta option, which is a fixed classic on their menu. - Pepino's Mini Tiramisu ($9): Tasty. Perhaps being overly picky, but the ratio was more in favour of the mascarpone. Could have done with a smidgen more sponge cake for my tastes. Drinks: - Italian Firing Squad: unexpectedly sweet but a good balance of flavours. Very quaffable. - Rivera 'Pungirosa' Rosé: would have been ideal for a sunny patio. Service is great - good knowledge of the food, things moved quickly, and they changed plates between courses. Overall, a fun place to visit. Would go back to try out more of their classic menu options or to try the fixed price menu they do Mon-Fri.

This place really knows how to make comforting Italian dishes feel special. The black pasta with shrimp immediately stood out to me the moment it arrived. The noodles had a great bite, the sauce was rich and savory without being heavy, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I also tried the focaccia style dish topped with creamy cheese and herbs, which was indulgent in the best way. Crispy on the outside, soft and airy inside, with a generous amount of cheese that didn't overpower the bread.

We tried a few dishes and everything was genuinely enjoyable from start to finish. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, coated in a rich and well balanced sauce that felt comforting without being too heavy. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients, especially with the generous amount of cheese and the subtle kick from the chili flakes. The fried dough dessert was a highlight. Light and crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and finished with powdered sugar and crushed pistachio. It was indulgent without being overly sweet, making it a great way to end the meal. Overall, the food felt thoughtfully prepared and satisfying, the kind of place you'd happily come back to when craving something comforting and well executed.

I've been to this café twice and I loved it both times. The pastas are absolutely favourable and perfectly balanced. I love their coffee and desserts too! The service is friendly and welcoming, and the space is a cozy, welcoming vibe. It's a fantastic spot for lunch if you're in the area.

Had an intimate dinner with the girls here recently. They had a three-course menù fisso for $59, featuring a variety of foraged funghi. You can also add on wine pairings. We were offered three choices each for courses 1 and 2, and two choices for course 3. Since we had more than three people, we ended up sharing everything so we could try a bit of each. Of all the dishes, I loved the spinach sformato in course 1 as I don't usually see this on the menu. You gotta try the olive oil cake with mushroom chantilly and pears for dessert - sounds wild but it works!

I made a reservation to celebrate my friends birthday. The staff were sooo amazing, we had to wait a bit for our table as people were still settling up, but they sat us at the bar while we waited. When our table was ready they had brought out complimentary prosecco and italian soda!! We ended up ordering the pasta of the day and absolutely loved both, but my fave was the ricotta and spinach stuffed "boats". we were blown away! Drinks were also delicious. Before we could order dessert, they brought out a birthday cannoli for my friend with a candle. It was also delish!! We also ordered the cheesecake which was a 7/10 or so. all in all, the staff here were AMAZING. they were so friendly, accommodating and kind. This is such a gem of a spot!

Second #DOVF24 #mydineoutstory @dineoutvanfest was at @caffelatana lunch set for $39.Highlight was definitely the Radiatore alla Vodka. Love the vodka sauce. I think it's the best I've tried in Vancouver. Both pasta dishes were generous in portion (including the massive meatballs). The appetiser and desserts were ok, nice but not mind blowing. The cannoli shell was very hard.... Things we got: 1. Chickpea and farro salad 2. Stracciatella alla Romana 3. Pepino's spaghetti and meatball 4. Radiatore alla vodka 5. Caramelised chocolate mousse 6. Cannoli

I wish it had a few more apple chunks to every bite, I think that would add some extra freshness to the taste. They also sell a lot of goods in the store like canned fish, jams, and chocolates!

I was glad to visit on a Sunday morning while taking a walk with my boyfriend in his neighbourhood. When we arrived, it was quite busy. The coffee shop is small, but charming with limited seating available. The menu mainly contains basic coffee shop items as well as a variety of baked goods. We ordered an iced specialty coffee with ice cream and a small latte. I also chose the Tiramisu danish and we nibbled on it while waiting for our coffee. The danish was suggested by the cashier as one of the more popular items. She was completely right, because this baked treat was heavenly. The outside was like a croissant, flakey and buttery and paired with a delicious tiramisu custard on the inside. We also grabbed a scone for our walk home (which turned out to be delicious as well). The shop also sells local artisanal goods such as chocolate, sauces, and even loaves of bread. It's nice to gander around while waiting for your order. We enjoyed our coffee on the walk back home. The coffee is quite strong, which would be optimal for most coffee lovers. The flavour was deep and chocolate-y, but not bitter at all. I read on their site that they regularly rotate their bean selection. I would love to return to try more of their food items!
