I ordered a Cortadillo latte for me and an Ube matcha latte for my daughter. They were playing the World cup game in the background so the speakers were extremely loud, at some point there was a miscommunication and I heard him say "matcha latte?" Which I confirmed because I didn't want him to just give her a regular matcha. What he was asking was if I wanted a matcha latte or a regular latte, But because of the loud announcers in the background and he's behind a screen with AC on where he is I couldn't hear the first part of what he said. I found this out when he served me a matcha latte, when I pointed this out he got angry and said "I asked you if it was a matcha latte" And I told him that I only ordered The regular one, as I was saying this he said "forget it" snatch my drink back angrily made another one, in a bent cup and practically threw it at me. ( He didn't throw it he just slid it out angrily and it almost fell over so he had to catch the cup, which ruined his angry exit, lol) I'm laughing,but he was past rude and if this coffee shop was more than just a stand I would have spoken to a manager, and I'm not the person to do that because I really don't want to be bothered. I was also going to just take the regular matcha and ask for a shot of espresso, but he snatched the drink back so fast and said "forget it" . So I let it go. I would've given 4 stars, since the first time I came here last month, I got a matcha latte with oatmilk that was decent, but this time, I got an horchata latte with almond milk and perhaps it's just me being picky, but at least in The Bay Area, when I order an "horchata latte" it's actually made horchata and then a shot of espresso added to the mixture.... This particular place had syrups and flavoring! Ughhhh- so it was basically Almond milk with cinnamon syrup added to an espresso shot over ice. Ugh..... This was a cute coffee spot right outside our hotel. It was so convenient and easily accessible, all we had to do was step outside into the courtyard area and we had access to the mall and this perfect refueling station! We were able to order and quickly get our orders. I had the Latte Campesino and my daughter the Cortadillo Latte. Both were delicious (because you know I tried hers ). Got thirsty while shopping at The Ovation & decided to try this cafe despite seeing the mixed reviews. Horchata con espresso - Decent. You can taste the horchata. Nothing to go back for though. Thai style cold brew - Would not recommend. The cardamom overwhelmed the entire drink & made it taste funky (not in the good way). We asked for more condensed milk but that barely helped. Decided to give this spot a try since it's near my office and looking for a staple/good coffee shop near by. I'm a little surprised the reviews are so low. I ordered an Iced Mexi Mocha and my coworker ordered an Iced Ube Matcha Latte. We both agree it's pretty good and that we'll come back! I think the sweetness was perfect on my drink, with a good espresso roast. The staff member was also very nice and pleasant. See ya soon! Update: Day 2 - Came back again this morning. CAFE DE LECHE is a food stand in the heart of the Hollywood and Highland Center. Can't miss it. So glad Cafe De Leche has a location here because, though I love Highland Park, it's not as easy for me to get there. Also, so glad there is decent coffee offered in this tourist spot. If I had to go into another Starbucks while taking out of town guests around, I swear.... The VANILLA LATTE is lightly sweetened and is great as an afternoon pick-me-upper. Another great afternoon-pick-me-upper is their CAMPESINO. It's spiced and lightly sweetened and has a citrus (orange) flavor. There was a short line to order and a shorter line to get our orders. I love café de leche! Ever since I tried it out in their York Blvd location I fell in love with it. My two favorites are their latte campesino which is like café de olla but better because it's coffee brew with star anise, piloncillo and orange peels, their drip coffee and their Mexi mocha. You can't go wrong with any of their drinks. Today I tried their Thai style cold brew and eventhough I am not a big fan of iced coffee it was amazing! FYI this location is a coffee stand inside Ovation in Hollywood Blvd; so if you're visiting this side of town you already know where you can get delicious coffee while wandering around the stores/plaza. They also have pastries, smoothies and burritos. Nicest people working here for sure. read more

They have a brief menu with many of the basics like teas, pastries, and smoothies, in addition to a few unique drinks like the latte campesino and horchata con espresso. There was a small line during my visit but I did notice that after the line is taken care of it easily fills right back up with more customers. The cashier during my visit did not offer any greeting or customer service. She remained silent when I greeted her and ordered, she only spoke to tell me my total.
