No beer, no cheddar cheese, no grits & a long list of other key ingredients the restaurant was out of. The server even said to her colleague - "This place isn't even real". The sign says "Please wait to be seated", but if I had done that - I'd probably still be standing hours later. Service is laid back. I feel like you have to speak up if you want service here. After my meal arrived, I was informed they didn't have cheese for my scrambled eggs. A can of sprite is $4, but a meal starts around $14. I'd probably return for the vibes, but just for coffee and people watching. Nobody is moving too swiftly around here.

Frenchmen All Day In New Orleans for the first weekend of its Jazz Festival, I chose lodging near Frenchmen Street. My hope was that I would spend the morning and afternoon at the Festival and visit restaurants and music clubs on Frenchmen Street. I had a ticket to see the Dirty Dozen Brass Band at Maison (508 Frenchmen Street) for a show starting at 10 p.m. After finishing the afternoon at the Festival I returned to my hotel (the Hampton Inn French Market Area) and after a brief nap went looking for locations nearby for dinner. Given a recommendation by a local resident, I chose Frenchmen All Day, pretty much right across the street from Maison. Genuine, reasonably priced, and perfectly portioned, I had their crawfish étouffée ($17) and an Abita lager. Mild enough for les Americans, the dish seasoned up nicely with some Tabasco Sauce. Service was friendly and prompt, and I left knowing that this was the real deal, exactly what I was looking for in Cajun cuisine.

Just so good. The place itself is so fun and quaint. The staff was incredibly kind. And the food was amazing - we ordered the Crawfish Benedict and the étouffée and we will be back for both. The coffee was also really good. Overall this is a fantastic spot for lunch or brunch in New Orleans.

Cute little spot for breakfast or brunch/lunch along Frenchman St. between the French Quarter and the Marigny. Very homey. Sitting at a table by the window felt a little like being at a small neighborhood cafe in Paris. We started with roasted shishitos tossed in a spicy sesame ponzu. They were roasted well but it was the heat level of the ponzu that really made the dish. For mains we had traditional New Orleans crawfish etouffee served over white rice (tasty!) and crawfish mac & cheese. The mac & cheese dish was actually a little bland, so we added some of the shishitos and some of their house hot sauce that was on the table to give it some more taste and character. That worked well, so it ended up being good, too. Not a must-visit place, but definitely good, solid food and good service in a quiet neighborhood outside the French Quarter.

Heck yeah! That's what I'm gonna say when we go back to New Orleans and my wife asks me if I want to eat here again. We stayed right off Borboun Street and we decided to walk here which is not too far. I got the Crawfish Hash and I am glad I did, they were not stingy with the crawfish and it had great flavor. We received great customer service and they were very attentive. It's not a quiet setting so you can talk without anyone listening in on your conversation as the seating is not too close to each other. Prices are very fair especially for what you get especially if you compare to California prices.

Crawfish Mac and cheese was amazing! Super creamy, well seasoned and lots of crawfish throughout the dish. Highly recommend

My wife and I were casually hanging out in the Frenchman area and walked by this establishment. We noticed an older couple exiting and saw us checking out the menu posted outdoor. They quickly recommended we get a table to to dine as they said this was one of the best local restaurants in the area. The restaurant is small but like most places in NO, they know how to maximize their space and serve as many customers as they can. You could tell this was a place locals frequented, which is always a good sign. The food was simply amazing! I ordered the shrimp and grits with a cocktail - all of which were very good! The grits were cooked perfectly and contained a good amount of plump and juicy shrimp. Met the chef who was super nice and amazing Black man named Dwayne. He greeted every customer and made sure everyone was satisfied with their meal. This is definitely a place for locals, and it didn't disappoint. Our server Kaykay was super sweet

1000/10 This place is definitely for locals and the vibe was so cute! The staff here are super nice and the decor here was wonderful. I absolutely loved the food, the dishes were perfect and packed with flavor. My favorite which wasn't posted is the bananas foster! BEST thing I've ever eaten in my life. It had the perfect amount of sweetness without being too sweet. Highly recommend!

Awesome atmosphere, friendly service, amazing drinks and delicious food. This was my favorite spot in New Orleans that we tried on our trip and I will go back every time I visit. Food: Red beans and rice - spot on flavor! Burrata Panzanella - light and refreshing, loved the peach compote! Drinks: Rabble Rousers Martini - I could drink these all day! Teeling Irish Coffee - Great hot option with a heck of a kick!

Cute restaurant near the end of Frenchman Street. I was hungry for lunch and they had a few tables outside on a sunny day, so ordered shrimp and grits with a Second Line blonde ale. The lunch was delicious with plenty of shrimp and sausage with creamy grits. Service was a little slow and you need to order at the counter for outside food, but I got the beer after ordering and it wasn't too long until my food came out. The music from the drag brunch next door added to the appeal of the location. Fun place!

This place was great! Food was killer, people were even better! Will definitely add it to my regular list when I'm in town. Probably my favorite Nola breakfast spot since Coulis closed.

Food was AMAZING! I ate the shrimp and grits and i had no notes. The best shrimp and grits i've ever had. The cook, Mildred, was warm and welcoming and so was our server! The restaurant itself felt so cozy. If i lived nearby, i would be here every day.

While you're here, I'd say that the cafe au lait is also worth trying. I noticed that the lines tend to be longer in the morning but there was little to no wait at night time. Service is mixed--some workers are really friendly while others seem rushed and are a bit harsher. It is a casual spot and you can pretty much grab any open table to be seated. One thing to note is that it is cash only. Overall, I'd highly recommend this location of cafe du monde!

I was a little confused when I first walked up, as there isn't a place to order. You simply sit at an empty table and a server comes to take your order. The beignets were warm, crispy, and covered in powdered sugar. It's hard to explain what they even tasted like because they were just that incredible. I ended up getting them again the next day--I genuinely want to make another trip out here just to have them again. Be aware that it's in a heavily tourist-filled area, but besides that, I loved this spot and will definitely be back the next time I'm in New Orleans!

Still a New Orleans Gem - Visitor since 2018!…read more I'm updating my review as of April 2026 because it's important for visitors to know that The Vintage has absolutely "still got it." My last review was in 2020, and I'm happy to report that the quality and atmosphere remain top notch. Whether you are looking for a morning pick up or an evening wind-down, this spot covers all the bases. Their beignets and coffee are a classic must have, and I can personally vouch for their Americano. It is consistently well made and delicious. They also have a great selection of beer and cocktails if you're looking for something a bit stronger. What really sets this place apart, though, is the hospitality. We have always had great interactions with the staff, but a special shout out goes to Jimmy, whom we met this past week. He was incredibly kind and hospitable, truly making us feel right at home.
