This was absolutely terrible all the way around. Came in at 2pm and the line is out the door. The service was extremely slow and the tables were all dirty and unsanitary. My salad order came with rubber chicken, I could not even eat. The supply area was completely out of crackers as well as Fresca! The chickpea soup was mushy and tasted old. I then was going to get a cup of chocolate strawberries until they told me it was 15$ are they crazy?? I brought this all up to the on duty manager who didn't seem to even care. Very disappointed, I ordered online through the app and paid extra for getting some items added to my soup and they were not added and literally it's written on the box very clearly. Also the salad has like hardly any fruit and I was like in basically just eating straight lettuce, this also happened the last time I ordered online too!!! Had to order from a screen in a drive through :( like what? Then the screen asked for a tip, for what? I had to order it myself through a screen and climb out my window lol. Then I paid in cash, and the guy took his own tip out of my change I guess. Pretty sucky, places should really just pay their workers enough especially if they're using screen to take orders anyways. Multiple drive- thru orders have been wrong, including missing chicken in a protein bowl. Last time I went in to order I paid for the food with a card, then while putting the card away the person helping me just walked away. As I stood there wondering if he was coming back, a different person came over and asked what I was waiting for. I asked about a receipt so she reached over and pulled it off the printer. I don't think it's too much to expect to be asked if I want a receipt, or even hear a "thank you". Maybe businesses have trouble hiring competent people, maybe employees need more training, but I'm not willing to go back to that Zuppas again. read more

Not gonna lie I normally love zupas, and the food isn't the issue. The issue is I order online 30 minutes ahead of time for a single bowl of soup. Then proceed to wait for another 20 mins. Honestly i work in fast food service and I don't care how busy you might be which by the looks of it didn't seem super busy. It shouldn't be taking longer than 5 minutes to scoop up a bowl of soup. The food was great and all the staff were super nice and friendly BUTTTTTT they need to hire separately or rotate their staff and managers to make sure the utensil, drink and area there is wiped down!!!! Like every hour if not more, especially when busy! It was a mess, their homemade house cream sitting there with the lid off so therefore not kept cold, the floor below was a mess, napkins, straw wrappers etc and under it too. We stopped by this location at this place this weekend. Yuck! The place is filthy. The floor around the drinks was full of dirt and debris. The drinks were a mess and the three special drink dispensers were whirring around basically empty . The tables were all grubby with random pieces of food. I ordered soup and it tasted fine but I was seriously worried about the food safety. I ate a few spoons and tossed it just in case. They were pouring old soup into new soup. The door was grubby . This is place is fairly new so the level of grime surprised me. I will say we're were fine and the staff were all sweet and polite young people. The state of the place is very off putting. read more

I've been to several Cafe Zupas locations, and I hate to say this, but this was one of the filthiest restaurants I've ever been to. Every single part of the seating area, drink bar, tables, chairs, windows, etc. were dirty. Every single trash was overflowing, the utensils and drink lids were out, the soda machines were malfunctioning and spewing soda water out of the sides of the tap, and the matcha and other drinks were low and curdled. I really hope the kitchen was in better shape than the front of the house. Maybe they were understaffed today, but I will never go back. Clean your restaurant please. read more

I have heard people rave about Cafe Zupas but for fear of high expectations due to all the hype, I waited to visit. I'm so regretful I waited. What an amazing meal. Ordered the try 2 deal. I had the chicken pesto sandwich with the chicken enchilada chili. Hubby had the brisket grilled cheese with the potato green chili soup. Meals came with a roll, chocolate covered strawberries and oyster crackers for the soup. Both sandwiches were incredibly fresh, bread was soft and the veggies were at the peak of perfection. Chicken pesto actually gave me a moment of pause where I thought I had tasted heaven. So scrumptious. The chili definitely held its own with being hearty, very tolerable spice level, with chunks of chicken. Definitely splurge for the tortilla strip topping. Hubby loved his brisket sandwich...he ordered without tomato, but it came with, which was the only bummer for him. Otherwise the brisket was fork tender and literally fell apart in his mouth. He gobbled that sandwich up in a hot minute which he never does. He was only so/so on the soup but he's not a fan of cilantro...I however, love it! Thought the soup was savory without being heavy. We were stuffed and opted to take the rolls and strawberries home. Had later and the rolls were soft with a mildly crusty outside. Excellent. It's a little clunky and disconcerting to order with the touch screen, but I guess that's the future. I really like the options and variety that Cafe Zupas offers. Sometimes the toppings seem a little skimpy and it seems like employees are encouraged to save pennies by making the scoops of toppings just a little bit less. I absolutely love the Wisconsin Cauliflower soup for people who are hospitalized or recovering. It's just such a lovely comfort food. I'm absolutely loving the Mediterranean Bowl lately, although with my last order they forgot the vinaigrette which left the arugula tasting very bitter. I just moved to Idaho very recently and saw on Facebook a new location of a restaurant called "Cafe Zupas" was opening up in the Meridian area near ten mile rd. I have never been to a Cafe Zupas restaurant before today and just recently even heard of them but when I saw an event on Facebook I knew I had to attend their grand opening as they were offering half off an order, samples, free food every week for one month and chances to win more free food !! I'm so glad I attended as this cafe is just awesome!! The employees are so friendly and the food is outstanding! There's plenty of healthier options and something for everyone's taste buds here. It reminds me of Panera but it's WAY BETTER!!! I got the cranberry turkey brie sandwich and a Chipotle glazed chicken salad in a pick 2 combo which came with a small chocolate covered strawberry and dinner roll. I also tried their honey lemonade, the caramel brownie and a sample of their pumpkin chorizo and chicken enchilada soups. Everything was soooo dang delicious!!! Never been to a Cafe Zupas before, driving through Boise and stopped. Salad and sandwich combo looked good. I ordered the mangoberry salad with roasted chicken and the ultimate grilled cheese combo. I did not ask for a roll or chocolate covered strawberry but received both. Maybe they came with it the combo? Not sure but they were additional options I could have selected. Wasn't sure they got my order correct at first. Salad had grilled chicken, not roasted. Not a huge deal but why offer both if you'll just get the grilled. The sandwich looked just like a regular grilled cheese as there were no tomatoes. Or at least none I could initially see. But I looked inside and there it was! I was really hoping this new location would have been an improvement over the Eagle location. I really liked the sandwich I got when I visited after they first opened. The place was clean and service was good. Fast forward to yesterday... the place was not very clean, there was no one wiping tables so when we were there customers had to just eat at dirty tables. We both got salads and spending $20 for two 1/2 salads with pretty much just lettuce was so disappointing. We watched the girl very carefully put the few pieces of strawberries, apples and chicken on the salads. They are obviously cautioned about how many very small slices they can put on a salad. I have written to a place called Mad Greens and begged them to come to our area. This place does not skimp on portions and keeps their stores clean. Hopefully some day... read more

Oh! My! Gosh! Yum! ‼ this place is bangin!! Fresh everything! You feel so healthy when you eat their food! Prices are pretty comparable for the quantity you get and they even give you a little treat! You can mix and match, half salad with Sammy, half soup with salad... and it's all absolutely delicious!!! we were so hungry when we went, we forgot to take photos of our food but we will definitely be coming back! The crew were all so helpful and sweet at helping us figure out what we wanted to order, they were on top of it and we got our food quickly! The ONLY thing I have to comment on improving is the cleanliness... I get they are super busy but it might be good to put someone on cleaning up after guests leave so new customers have a clean place to sit. read more

Tonight took my granddaughter to Zupas for dinner. This is not the first time it's happened, but we got up there. They charged us for our meal no bread no chocolate covered strawberries. So I walked back over to the girl at the register that they didn't give it she said she would get it right to us. In the meantime she visits with all the girls around there 10 minutes goes by she still hasn't brought the bread to us. She hasn't even checked anyone out one of the other girls has done that so I get up and go back over and another girl had to give me my order, but I had to wait 10 minutes for the bread and the strawberries which are right there which she all she should do is put them in the little sacks and hand them to me. We come to Idaho twice a year and always stop at Cafe Zupas. The food is very good and we appreciate having a healthier option in the road. It's also reasonably priced and my family always appreciated the chocolate dipped strawberries added to the meal. I don't always leave Yelp reviews when I should, but today I was really impressed with what I experienced/saw. I accidentally ordered in the wrong location and the manager quickly took care of it and was very kind and understanding. My husband and I ate here last week, and I was disappointed with the quality of my southwest protein-bowl salad. (I had the rice left off.) The picture shows a nice sampling of different ingredients, including avocado. The meat protein and pine nuts were good, but the avocado and other veggies were scarce. The picture shows four or five nice-sized slices of avocado, but what I got was a few bits of the vegetables and practically no avocado for $11.95. It was almost all lettuce. I visited this Zupas twice within a week. The first time I went in to grab a couple of bowls of soup for a sick husband. The soup choices are some of the best around. The chorizo pumpkin is delicious. That visit the service was meh . I took hubby back to eat there after he felt better because I was craving the chorizo pumpkin soup . It was just as delicious. Hubby had a sandwich and soup and liked both items. The service this day was much better. A little more friendly and personable. If you have a restricted diet- like keto or GF or DF, there are choices for you! If you just like to pick what goes on your sandwich or salad-this is a great place. It is fast food- but it's nice and has a lot of choices. The chocolate covered strawberry that comes with every meal is an added bonus. read more

Update: Cafe Z thanked me for the good review but failed to address my concern about the hair hanging over food being prepared. Hummmm. First time here and I loved it. My husband has been here and knew I would appreciate the fresh salads, tasty soups and yummy sandwiches. We ordered one of each item (soup, salad and sandwich) and shared. Delish!! The sandwich bread is light. We ate here and noticed the steady flow of customers and how quickly they were served. Also, the drive through has a long but moving line. Friday evening and Zupas is hopping. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the two young ladies preparing food both have their hair all over their face. Kinda grossed me out for fear that there would be a hair in my food. Usually I say something when I see that but didn't feel like being that person today. IF there was a hair in my food I would have given 1 star. Someone will one day if the gals don't pull their hair back away from their faces. This time my wife got a pickle and coleslaw sandwich with 5 small chunks of... beef? I took two bites and never hit meat. My "bowl" was more a salad with a tiny bit of this and that, nothing like the pictures. If you are out of stuff, say so, don't try to stretch things because we are paying full price. The operating manager Chris does a terrible job making his restaurant a place that I like to be. I live right next to this location and I make an effort to avoid it. The quality here is subpar at best compared to other locations in the valley. I have given him and his staff many opportunities as I try not to be too quick to judge. Do not waste your money at this location. Go anywhere else where your money will get you better quality food from staff that is more detail oriented and not skimping on portions to make it through a rush. It is also very frustrating that the operating manager has taken one order from our group just to jump back into drive through. If they added another person on expo to focus on quality and not just quantity this place could be much better. Do better read more

Now this is one of my favorite places to eat because I really enjoy a good soup a good salad and a good sandwich. I come here often however this time around on June 3, 2025 between the hours of 2 PM and 3 PM. I bought meals for my family and I I usually get the chicken Caesar salad with extra avocado extra dressing and the Wisconsin soup. I'm leaving this review because I want the quality to be considered. I believe that there needs to be an inventory taken up on quality because every bite of my salad today was very gritty. I had absolutely no idea what I was biting down into with how gritty it was. It has never been like this before either something was put in my food or the salad or chicken was not properly handled or washed properly. I have no clue, but I hope and pray that my body does not respond to anything from this food because if it does, you will be hearing from me. I really like this place and I'm giving grace with the potentially being an error. However, there's no way should I have eaten this salad with that amount of grit that I was chewing down on other than chicken, avocado, and lettuce with cheese.
