I highly recommend this business. I showed up after they closed, (I meant to go to the other Cains Tires that is open later) but even with the shop closed down the guy went and got his personal air pump out of his truck and filled up my tire so I could make it to the other shop before closing time. My car started signaling that it had low brake fluid every time I hit the brakes. I immediately imagine that rodents had gotten into the bottom of the car and chewed their way through my brake pads and then I was going to get $1000 bill. I always use Cain's tires to get tires and I know that they had a brake shop so I took my car over there today. they did a lovely job assessing the problem and it turned out to just be that I needed. My Blake flushed one hour of waiting and it was all good. Late in the afternoon on a weekday, I had a sudden issue on a newly purchased used car that had me wondering whether I should drive back home across the Richmond Bridge. I called a bunch of mechanics in San Rafael to see if anyone could take a look. Everyone was booked up and told me I wouldn't find someone at that hour. Except.... Cains Tire downtown told me to come by and they would squeeze me in. I was so grateful! I went there and they called up Angel at the Annex and when I got there, he directed me to Fabian (hoping I got his name correct! I read it off his patch). Fabian took the time to go for a test drive with me, put my car on the lift to inspect the tires and took a look at the underside. He said he didn't think it was a tire/wheel issue, it should be OK to drive home, and he also pointed out an oil leak on the underside of the car. I didn't even know that there were still shops out there who would be super kind and help someone in a bind and send them on my way without payment. Always buy tires at Cains Tires, but one day recently my front left wheel started making noise. I figured if it wasn't a tire it was something close to it so I dropped in to the Tire shop. Dylan said it sounded like a bearing, and referred me to Nick at this Annex. Had never heard of this place before, but it's on my radar now for anything connected to tires. I may even buy tires here as well, given how busy the main shop can get. Anyway Fabian diagnosed it as a bad bearing after listening to it during about 100 yards of a test drive. Took a few hours to fix it, not particularly cheap nor expensive given that the car is incredibly reliable, paid for and only relies on a battery to start the petro-fueled motor. I'm not a climate denier, but i do know something about manufacturing. Those big complex ev batteries are simply not "sustainable" given how many different exotic materials are required to be dug up in different parts of the globe by third-worlders living in grinding abject poverty. What's never mentioned is that, unlike the ease with which lead is simply melted out of lead/acid batteries, e.v. batteries contain many different metals that aren't discretely localized in the battery so no method has yet been developed to recycle them. read more

My mechanic highly recommended Cain's Tire Annex and I'm so glad he did. They took great care of me, and they were able to work on my tire repair immediately; the whole thing took about 30 minutes. I wish I could give this place negative stars. This shop was recommend to me by multiple neighbors. They adjusted my brakes for me and then my regular mechanic found that the pins holding my brake calipers on were completely falling out two weeks later! Thankfully they caught it otherwise my brakes would have literally fallen apart and possibly caused me to get in an accident. I called the shop to request a refund and they weren't apologetic in the slightest. Told me I needed to call back another day to talk to another person. Unbelievable. I came here to the brake annex about 3ish years ago. Bad Decision. I went to the tire shop they said tires had lots of life left(they were Michelin). I had a weird noise when braking they sent me to the brake annex. They replaced the pads and got 4 tires. Still had weird noise.They replaced the Master. On my way home the car would slow down going downhill at civic center area on 101.Went back,they didn't bleed the brakes. They "fixed" that . All in all I spent $1000.00 and approximately 12 hours in all waiting for them to fix the problem. I had to go back again to the tire department and they balanced etc. the tires the steering wheel was reducing the circumference of my arms due to the excessive shaking of the steering wheel.After I left there the steering wheel shook like before. I WAS SO DISGUSTED I NEVER WENT BACK. AND I TELL PEOPLE OF MY EXPERIENCE WHEN THE SUBJECT COMES UP. read more
