FOOD: The açaí bowls are amazing!! The iced lattes for the large ones are so close in price to the regular size, it makes it worth it to just get the big one. The lattes are generally pretty good, though there could be more flavor variety. I'm not sure if they have a sugar free syrup option, but if so, that would be awesome and totally add to their selection. The bagels are good as well, my husband loves that they offer garlic cream cheese. SERVICE: I've had not great service here honestly, but the interactions here are pretty minimal with staff so I don't seem to mind. One time, my açaí bowl was ready but my husbands bagel was not ready yet and even though my bowl was out to be picked up, the lady at the counter said I shouldn't take it until all items were available. But it took at least 10 more minutes for my husbands bagel to be finished. This has happened every time we have gone there, the smoothie bowl is done nearly 10 minutes before his bagel is done. I would personally recommend ordering them in separate transactions so that they don't let your smoothie bowl begin to melt while waiting for your bagel. However, I went this weekend and even though it was 10 extra minutes for his bagel, they let me take my bowl this time to eat while we waited. AMBIANCE: The seating here is AWESOME! Really enjoyed my first time at Caje! Such a cute vibe and plenty of outdoor seating for 10am on a holiday weekend. Service was surprisingly pretty quick despite how busy it was. I tried their Bella Rose matcha (my first time trying matcha) and it was so beautiful and delicious I had a hard time not slurping it down in 30 seconds. The avocado toast was also perfectly satisfying. My friend tried Juniper's Forest and was a little underwhelmed. In the video there's three coffees, all three were the lavender honey lattes. The two iced ones were made with almond milk. The hot one had whole milk. I definitely recommend this latte with whole milk, iced. The flavor is a little softer in my opinion. I tried their coast toast and it was delicious! I've gone to this place a few times! The rosemary Thai iced tea is my favorite, and the honey lavender latte is good as well. Love their bagels and toasts too. The atmosphere is adorable! Only suggestion would be accessiblity: I use a walker and followed the signs up the ramp inside, but the entrance was blocked, so I had to send my friend up to order for me instead. I know it's an old house, so if there's not a way to make it accessible, I'd recommend taking down the disabled entrance signage on the ramp. This time, I went with my boyfriend and he got an iced Mocha. Personally I thought it was extremely strong but my boyfriend seemed to love it. I got the Bella Rose and was not expecting much because a lot of matcha here in Ventura County are not good, but this was one was sweet and had of a bit fruity undertone in it, making it better. Again, the presentation was pretty and I enjoyed drinking it, even though certain drinks have no take out option, in this case, the Bella Rose. The coffee here is amazing. We live in Ventura and stop here every Saturday when we go to the farmers market. However, they need to get online ordering for faster service. Waiting in a line for 15 minutes in the single door, where everyone has to enter an exit is a bit much for coffee. I've tried several of their breakfast delicacies and they are quite amazing but when you order just a plain bagel with cream cheese, prepared to be disappointed. This is my third experience, ordering a plain bagel with cream cheese. And each time it is came out like this. I'm sure you ask why keep trying? The answer is hopefully they figure it out. When you're paying five dollars for a bagel would there be more than just a swipe of cream cheese, please see pictures. Also- having the ramp blocked off so no wheelchair or stroller access? Gorgeous little cafe with beautifully presented food. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The layout is a bit intimate indoors as tables aren't spaced out much & a small bar - every seat was taken by 11am on a Friday when I arrived. A menu outside at the entrance of the store or QR code to their menu would help out as, the menu is near the register/ordering area- it is hard to see when people are standing in front of it. The foyer has limited space to stand afterward to wait for your name to be called. It was a little awkward for me. Expext a simple menu of acai bowls or toast/bagel options and extensive drink options. Expect to spend about $24 per person for a drink and a bite + tip. I got the Bella Rose strawberry matcha 4/5, it wasn't sweet at all, which I liked but, room temp kinda threw me off. The avocado toast was okay 3/5 but the winner was the bagel with cream cheese, greens and dill - to die for 5/5. It is definitely a luxury to visit this aesthetic cafe, but it is worth the experience. The outdoor spaces were all so inviting with tables, couches with shaded and sunlit Gazebo style layout. Parking is limited to paid street parking nearby or free parking lot a couple blocks away. I think Caje is a successful downtown cafe option & perfect for brunch buddy gatherings, a solo trip, or even a study spot. read more

Came here with a friend a couple months ago cuz I wanted to try their signature coffee. The place is super cozy with lots of seating however we couldn't really hold a conversation since the music was pretty loud cuz the seats we got were too close to the speakers. I think this place doubles as a restaurant in the evening and a coffee shop in the morning. I got the burnout coffee which I thought tasted really good. I could still taste the actual coffee which I liked cuz sometimes some "craft" coffees come out too sweet for me. I just wish that it was a bigger serving at $10. My friend ordered the rosemary Thai tea which I tried and I thought it was very good and refreshing. We both got the works bagels which were very filling for the price. However I still wish there was an option to add some protein to it. Definitely would come back when I wanna splurge on coffee whenever I'm back in town visiting my family. read more
