Ok first off I want to say it's such a cute place and the coffee is really good. I want to give 5 stars but I was super taken back today as I ordered an iced vanilla latte and sat at the bar area to wait for my drink. I could see them making the drinks and one girl asked her coworker to check on more milk in the back because it had passed the date on the milk container. The girl said "oh that's just the sell by date". They continued to smell the milk with weird facial expressions. That made me super uncomfortable as they then gave me my drink and I don't know which milk was used. Just not a very good look to do in front of costumers.... Pretty food that tastes equally amazing too, yes please! I'm not a huge coffee drinker but the Maui Bard and Bella Rose were extremely good and extremely pretty. The flowers are even edible! If you r in Ventura check out this place... off of Main Street in Downtown on Palm! One Yelper described it as a visit to Maui in an hour which is what made up my mind to visit with my coffee loving teen. This place is amazing, everything we tried was so good and the restaurant itself is very cute. I saw Caje on social media and it was more than just "instagrammable" food but actually tasted great. Not sure what it was about the açaí bowl but it was one of the best I've had. Their specialty drinks are definitely creative and a must try. I am a Caje fan so I had to try this new location! As always, they impressed me. The shop is located just off Main Street in Ventura in a beautiful two story white house. It's gorgeous on the outside and inside with plenty of seating. You order at the counter and your drink is placed on top of a counter off to the side. This confused me a bit as the pickup counter was high and i had to reach up to get my drinks. Not sure how someone who is short or in a wheelchair could grab their drink. It was also stuffy on the inside so my friend and I had our drinks outside. The vanilla oat latte was phenomenal! So creamy and delicious. My friend enjoyed her iced caramel latte. Review number two. Second here. It really is a very cute place but a little more attention to detail is needed. I had the bagels works and it was yummy. I had to clean my own table about was dirty but they have wet clothes for customers to clean the tables....how nice. Latte was nice and my wife ordered a bowl. About ten spoonfuls into the bowl she found a blonde hair. That wasn't on the menu so I guess that was an extra added item. Sorry not coming back. The blonde lady was nice enough to remake the bowl. Honestly I have been here a few times and it's been great. The iced caramel latte was watery and not a good flavor at all. But today my friend ordered my drink incorrectly so I went in and asked if I could get an add shot since it was too sweet. I even offered to pay for it since it was technically our fault. One of the girls seemed kind about it but the other eye rolled me and was rude in her tone. She then re made both but seemed pissed. Caje Coffee has an ambiance that's upbeat and modern with a bohemian vibe. There's limited seating inside, but there's additional outdoor seating that's welcoming and comfortable. Service was great and the staff were friendly. They ran out of bagels during our visit, so we opted for the Avo Toast and an Acai Bowl. The Avo toast was great and a must try. The Lil' Bowl Blue Acai Bowl was fresh and tasty (nothing special tbh and would try another bowl next time). I wasn't a fan of the Jupiter's Forest and was prettier than it tastes. The Vanilla Latte was good, and the Hojicha was a bit watered down. I would come back for the ambiance and to try other items. read more

My wife and I were going through a rough patch last week, so we decided to see our marriage counselor. Our counselor recommended that we go to a public place for a meal or coffee so that we'd be encouraged to resolve our differences in a cordial, mature and civilized manner. We found a great new coffee shop on Yelp that we thought might do the trick. Caje Coffee Roasters is a sparkling new addition to the coffee scene in Ventura. It's a wonderfully renovated antique-style building at the bottom of a sloped road with ample seating on several levels and a clean open interior. Caje serves açai bowls, smoothies, bagels, avo toast, and other snacks - all in a wonderfully airy and light-infused space. I ordered a Fastidious Golf Pro on a Spanish Galleon, and my wife had a Reticent Proletarian with extra whip and Caje's unbelievably tasty avo toast. Unfortunately, the Caje ambiance and delicious fare was wasted on our undisciplined arguing style and messy communication habits, which soon reared their ugly head. After some preliminary bickering, I made a regrettable comment about her mother's drinking habits, which resulted in a stinging rejoinder directed at me via the elderly Canadian couple at the next table. She wondered aloud to them whether 'a real emotional attachment to my own mother might have resolved the bed wetting issues that I had until I was twelve.' While that's not the kind of information that you want to hear about yourself in front of Canadians while sitting on a lovely white-washed veranda in a canopied wicker chair, I decided to model emotional regulation, redirect the problem and problem solve rather than react. My wife and I were eventually able to find common ground once the horrified Canadian couple ambled off leaving most of their shared bagel behind. Working through issues with a partner can be a tumultuous process, but it's worth it in the end. And we got to try most of one of Caje's famous bagels! Delicious. Location is beautifully decorated with lots of bohemian inspired furniture including swings in the front patio and large indoor and outdoor patio seating. The Westside Bagel ($14) and PNutty Bowl ($13) are pretty filling and feel reasonably priced, the PNutty bowl is quite big and full of walnuts, strawberries, and bananas. The Westside bagel was delicious but would benefit from a bit more salmon lox. The service was fast and staff are friendly!
