I love this place because it's laid-back, consistently great, and somehow always knows exactly what my post-flight soul needs: gumbo and an old-fashioned. Unfortunately, after years of coming here, I've realized I may have been so focused on eating that I've never actually remembered to take a picture before attacking the food. A true professional mistake. Started off with the gumbo, obviously, along with some Brussels sprouts that were crispy enough to make me briefly consider becoming a vegetable person. Absolutely delicious. Dangerous, honestly. For the entrée, I went with the red fish -- because when something works, why introduce chaos into your life? Zero disappointment. The food here is consistently excellent, the service is impeccable, and the old-fashioned did exactly what an old-fashioned is supposed to do after a long flight: convince me I suddenly have no responsibilities. If you're traveling for work, exhausted from airports, delayed boarding, and pretending your carry-on fits in the overhead bin, this is the kind of spot that resets your mood immediately.
