My husband bought some food here while we were at the mall. He ordered 3 meats (bourbon chicken, blackened chicken, and honey chicken) with white rice. He really enjoyed his order and finished it in the time it took for me to eat a slice of pizza. He said his favorite was the honey chicken and he would order it again if he came back. I tried everything he ordered and found I liked the honey chicken most as well. If we came back I'd probably end up going to the Cajun Grill and Cafe with him to order my own entree. Staff was friendly and the price was fairly reasonable for the amount of food. My husband commented our local restaurants that offer similar things would probably charge double. My son loves their smoothies so we've been buying them for a long time! Their prices have gone up as expected since everything else has as well. What I didn't expect was going by two weeks in a row to discover that they changed their smoothie sizes. First time coming here. I only came to the fruit freeze section. I came here to get a strawberry banana fruit freeze. This fruit smoothie exceeded my expectations. Paid about 4 bucks! They open at 10AM, but don't have any food ready to order. I didn't get the guys name at the counter; just noticed his arms covered in tattoos. I attempted to order my food and was told in broken English, "How am I going to take an order with no food?" It's not my fault that this establishment isn't prepared when they open. A decent choice in the Fox Valley food court; I like the bourbon chicken (wish it was a bit saucier) with white rice, but the horchata was rather watery (as I described it to my companion, it's like horchata that was made by someone who only knew what horchata was from a description but didn't actually have a recipe: quite bland, not enough cinnamon). Reading the other views, I can agree that customer service might not be great, though better than some Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. Stopped by on a weekday night during my break from work when there was nobody in the food court. I approached the counter and looked at the two employees standing there. They were chatting and chilling. I made eye-contact with one of them. He looked back and we maintained eye contact for five seconds. I nodded. Finally, he asked me what I wanted and I told him a mango smoothie without "bubbles" would be excellent ($3.69). By the way, wouldn't recommend the "bubbles" because they're so hard. You'd rather go to Ma Tea House or drive to Joy Yee ask for a cup of tapioca and put that into the smoothie from Cajun Cafe. Their mango smoothie is made of real mangoes. It makes me feel bad about ordering it because making the smoothie was so easy. The guy just added mangoes, sweetened water, and ice. Cajun Cafe is a must when ever we go to the mall. They have the best Lo Mein and their bourbon chicken is delicious. They also have delicious smoothies. So many different options to choose from. I definitely recommend you give it a try. read more

TERRIBLE!!! TERRIBLE!!! TERRIBLE!!! Wifey ordered the 3 Combo plate. We were given the 2 combo plate, and they started arguing with us. The two "gentlemen" there CLEARLY wanted to be elsewhere and made it known. They never asked what beverage we wanted so when Wifey asked for water they have us one tiny half filled cup of water then immediately turned his back to me and acted like I wasn't there. It's like they are PURPOSEFULLY TRYING TO PISS YOU OFF!!! And yes, they do talk SMACK about you to your face! Chicken was dry and tasteless. Toooooo much grease on the Bourbon Chicken. I always get the usual two entree one side as fried rice and bourbon chicken. It's amazing. The sweetness of the chicken. But the only problem I always have also is the serving side. I'll have a lot of rice but not the amount of meat to match the ratio of rice which is very disappointing. Then when you ask for sauce they only give you 2 like it's a problem. Those are my only bad things. Just wish they'd work on their servings of meat when paying 9.19 for a plate. read more

The employees were very rude to me and my boyfriend. I saw that they had watermelon bubble tea, which is my favorite, so we decided to stop in. As my boyfriend was ordering, a man (the manager?) told him to "hurry up" and to "get out of the way". My boyfriend ordered a pineapple smoothie and a watermelon smoothie with tapioca. When we got to the end of the line, my boyfriend received his pineapple smoothie, but I saw them making a strawberry smoothie. I mentioned this to my boyfriend, who brought this to their attention. They said that we had ordered a strawberry smoothie, and they very sternly handed the smoothie to us. Neither of us like strawberries, so I told them that that was not what I had wanted. Surely they could give the strawberry smoothie to the next person who ordered strawberry? They did not offer to remake my smoothie and just gave me annoyed looks. I placed the untouched smoothie on the counter and left. I will not be going back unless they offer to give me the smoothie that I paid for. Instead I ordered the rice and halfway through my meal I found a dead roach. I feel like vomiting and I won't be coming back to this restaurant again. The food is more grease and lard, not a lot of taste to it even though it looks like it would be great. Given their prices, there are two other places steps away that have better food for the same price. One note to the older guy and younger girl at the cashier. Most people don't know I am bilingual and understand Spanish, so please stop trashing your customer and making fun of them when they're standing right in front of you. I asked about the ingredients used for a fruit smoothie and they stared at me like I was stupid and said "the sign says 100% real fruit". I asked what kind of juice they use and they said syrup. I said I don't want fruit concentrate and asked if they could use real fruit juice. They said yes and then I watched them make my strawberry banana smoothie with half a banana, a small handful of strawberries, and 5 cups of water. It was disgusting. I asked for a refund and was explicitly told "you ordered it like that if you don't like it that's your problem". Would have given this place 0 stars if I could have.
