A tech from cal climate said they saw zero proof of leaks on my roof. This attached picture is from 5 days ago which clearly shows leaks. I called cal climate today at 4:20pm and asked to speak to the tech that went to my home within the past hour. I was very rudely told i am forbidden to speak with the tech on the phone and that I will have to schedule another in person appointment and pay an additional fee. The tech literally left my home 30 minutes ago. The rude female I spoke with on the phone yelled at me, spoke over me, and laughed at me when she heard my frustration. She then hung up on me. I'm sure that had nothing to do with the fact that they close in 7 minutes. These people care zero about customer service.

Cannot say enough great things about Cal Climate! Mike is the man and knows his stuff! We had an issue with our HVAC unit which turned out to be a bad switch causing a trip on n the system. I requested service for my furnace which had a couple of issues and required more than one service visit. Throughout the process, the servicemen where patient, courteous, and competent. I really thought Cal Climate was going to be the solution to my A/C problem. The initial visit by Bob Sauer was very professional. He quickly identified the problem, even recharged the unit at no cost knowing it was a temporary fix until the faulty part was replaced. He was to get back to me with an estimate in a couple of days. Well, it's now almost 2 weeks later and the unit is blowing warm air again. No estimate has been submitted, no date has been set as to when the repair will be done. I have left 3 phone messages with no response. Considering this experience I am not able to share the enthusiasm of the previous 12 reviews. I would not recommended this this company to anyone. read more

Cal Climate is AWESOME! I called them for a second opinion. The first guy said my unit was so old and he needed to replace the entire furnace and it would cost $3,000. OR he said he would "try" to repair it IF he could find the parts but it would run me $1,700-2,000. Then I had Bob with Cal Climate come by and he repaired my unit that same day for $625. Bob is very honest, reliable, and trustworthy. He saved me a lot of money and I will most definitely be referring other customers to him. read more

About 10 years ago, the air conditioner in my computer room at work had a weird problem that nobody could figure out. Somehow, I got in touch with Bob Sauer at Cal Climate, and he came over to have a look. He figured out what was wrong and fixed it. And because of that, I figured that he knows what he's doing, and I saved his card in case I ever needed work on my AC at home. Last week, it broke down. I called, and Bob came out. He remembered fixing my computer room air conditioner, and he diagnosed and fixed my home air conditioner in about 10 minutes. Like I said, he knows his stuff. read more

I contacted Cal Climate during the first heat wave in June 2016. I repeatedly left voice mail after voice mail at the office that morning. No one ever answered the phone nor returned my calls. The person who referred me gave me one of the owner's cell phone. I continued to call and again left several messages on the cell. Again, no one returned me calls. I spent the entire day trying to reach someone at Cal Climate but to no avail. Finally, he answered his cell during late afternoon and was very displeased because I called his cell. He told me that I would have to wait ONE MONTH for an appointment. I did wait for one month in this over 100 degree weather with no A/C, which was a huge mistake. He showed up early on that day. Gave me an estimate which includes a 4 ton Lennox condenser but the cheapest model. I researched it on the internet and found that consumer satisfaction for that particular model was extremely low. I requested for an upgrade to a model which was slightly better. He added an additional $1000 for the upgrade. I also needed a UV light bulb replaced. He sent me an e mail stating that if my UV light fixture was still under warranty, I should contact the original installer. I pointed out to him that if I buy a lighting fixture, which is under warranty, would I return the entire lighting fixture just because the light bulb is burned out? Same holds true for the UV light fixture. All I needed was a new bulb. There was nothing wrong with the housing unit. At that point, he told me to go get the UV bulb on my own and he would put it in for me. This is like taking your car to the auto mechanic and is told to go get your own auto parts and the mechanic would install it for you. Furthermore, it would require a LICENSED contractor with air conditioning and heating specialty to purchase a UV bulb at a specialty store that only sells air conditioning and heating parts and materials. I am just a consumer and not a licensed contractor. This bulb is also not available on line or I would have ordered it myself. It is laughable for him to even suggest that I go buy it myself. Having waited for him for one month in over 100 degree weather, he decided to cancel his estimate. He is in the air conditioning business but he said he did not know where to go buy the UV bulb. My main concern was if I had spent 4,000 to $5,000 to have a new condenser installed by Cal Climate, I would not be able to reach anyone should something happened to the new condenser and needed service even if it was under warranty because this company NEVER return calls according to my experience. In my opinion and having dealt with this owner for several days, he was not only arrogant, impatient, he also dispensed unsound and impractical advice. Not knowing where to buy a part makes me wonder how knowledgeable and resourceful is he. You draw your own conclusion. I think the initial contact is very telling that no one bothered to return my calls. I should have moved on and find another service provider. read more

My husband and I are so glad we called Cal Climate! Professional family run business. They were on time, knowledgable, friendly and honest! We had a brand new A/C, furnace and brand new duct work installed. Reasonable prices, with the job done quickly. The whole experience couldn't have been better. We have a house that is very hard to cool down on any day over 92 degrees. A/C people would come over and then leave and not return our calls. But Cal Climate knew exactly what to do. Our house is toasty warm in the winter and cool as a cucumber in the summer! I appreciate their exceptional customer service! read more

The best referrals come from friends. I asked around about replacing our 50 year old furnace and A/C unit, and one friend mentioned Bob. The other reviews pretty much say what I have to say. I have a feeling there is something going unsaid by the guy who wrote that bad review. We're not getting the whole story, because these guys are honest, straight-up. This is a horrible company. I made an appointment for a general service of my heating & air conditioning system for yesterday and they were to come between 1 - 5. I called around 3 and was told they'd be there before 5. When five o'clock came and went, I called the office and it was closed. Imagine leaving the office before making sure all the clients for that day were taken care of! I left a message and have not received a return call, let alone an apology. A company that does not respect their commitment or my time would not take care of my heating system. Do yourself a favor and call someone else! read more

I called Cal Climate Corp for a routine service check up. My technician, Mike, was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything he did to the AC/heater unit. Mike also caught a big problem with the wiring on my temperature thermometer regarding the heater. It was wired incorrectly so that when I turned on the heater, it also turned on the AC and sent cool air into the heater to then be warmed up. He will have saved me a ton of money this winter, as last winter I had to stop using my heater when it was really cold because I couldn't afford the bill. It was ridiculously high and I even called the electric company to complain that something was wrong. But now I understand where the problem lay. Thank you Mike so very much!! I can't wait to have a nice toasty home this winter! read more

They helped me understand options and worked with me on what I wanted. They did what they said they would do. They were flexible and took the time to finesse the work where it was needed. Good quality work. Permits went fine, and everything passed the first time. My 1930 property has a 2-story duplex and a house. I live in one unit and have renters in the other units. I talked to several companies about the work. So Cal Air was more responsive than other companies. Menooa was very knowledgeable and helpful during the first meeting, offering me options. Their proposal was competitive with other proposals. They helped me understand options and were flexible, and worked with me through the installation of what I wanted. They installed 3 separate systems for me, one system for each unit. Each system had 3 zones. I've had many repairs to my property over the years, and the details matter to me. I wanted to hide the lines as much as practical, preserve the architectural look. My contractor handled the electrical installation and opened and repaired the drywall after the lines were installed. SoCal Air worked well with my contractor. Renovation of older construction is often complicated and takes extra effort. We had to come up with some creative solutions, and SoCal Air did a great job! My units were installed above doors and windows. My contractor modified the living room cove ceilings so the indoor units would fit close to the ceiling. So Cal Air did everything else. Everything fits great and looks great! I appreciated that Manooa gave good recommendations to steer me away from difficulties, but he also listened to me and headed my wishes when it mattered to me. So Cal Air handled the permits for the heat pumps. The installation passed the LA Building and Safety inspections with no issues. The work was finished late summer, early fall of 2025, after the heat, but in time for winter. Heating worked great in winter. We had a chance to use the cooling during a recent heat wave, and it worked great! I bought the heat pumps primarily for cooling, since the apartments had only heating and had never had cooling before. The units work great! The temperature stays very comfortable. Everything is very quiet. I barely know they are on, except when I open the door and am shocked by how hot it is outside. My tenants gave me positive feedback and have been very happy with the heat pumps. My property still looks like 1930, but it doesn't feel like 1930 anymore! I am very happy with their work and the results. I've recommended So Cal Air to several friends.

They also enlarged one of my return air vents to meet the higher airflow needs of the new HVAC system. The work required widening the opening in the ceiling and installing a new return grille. The crew handled it neatly and professionally. When they finished, it looked like new. The new system is working great, airflow is noticeably improved, and the entire project was completed fast and as promised. It's not often that a major home improvement project goes this smoothly. Between 2020 and 2025, all seemed "tolerable" with my old Payne/Carrier AC + furnace. But last fall, it was clear my system had given up the ghost... and unbeknownst to me, the fabulous older gentleman who'd been coming here off and on for years, retired and moved out of state. I needed some new AC geniuses! Let the research and bidding/quoting madness begin! * FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESSES ARE BEST! I know everyone says "go local," and avoid things (giant franchises, etc.) that rhyme with "Bosco," for such an install (as well as gear sharing the first name of a famous 1990s-era heavyweight boxer w/the last name of Lewis). I'll let you imagine how that "almost" experience went... The FAMILY-OWNED business that is GREEN PLANET not only saved me heaps, but educated me about what would truly be needed, to go the "heat pump" route (my initial intention). Given that I have ancient, single-pane windows, and am in a tricky financial spot (I can't really upgrade my insulation to seal up the home to make a heat pump be 100% effective, let alone, replace windows), I ended up going with a rock solid, super efficient, side discharge AC condenser (due to vertical clearance limitations) and a new furnace (more details below). Nice! * "OFFICE" ETTIQUETTE Anyone curious about GREEN PLANET's "office" coordination... I wrote to Jay through their website... he phoned within an hour... I explained as best I could (background / issues / wants), he made an appointment to come out on Tuesday... He was on time, inspected the premises and advised... and his entire crew was out here THE NEXT DAY, taking care of business. I've had no AC since last September. (Though I've survived in here for 4 years without it, ages ago.) And now I'm CHILLIN'!!!!! (For PARENTS: I also appreciate the fact that the crew were extra aware of their environment, given that my son was home from school, sick; they were always mindful of him, in their midst.) * SOME INSTALLATION SPECIFICS A 2-ton unit was installed, replacing/upgrading from basically what I had... and my existing ducting is still rock solid, which also saved me some cash (by not needing new ducting). Another company had quoted me $3200 for a new freezer compressor. Art said that wasn't necessary. He performed a cleaning of the coiling springs and took the bottom vent cover off to let the refrigerator breathe in the future. Instead of spending $3200 I spent $185. He also serviced my older HVAC unit, a more obscure water source heat pump model that not alot of people service. Two other companies told me the unit needed to be replaced at a cost of anywhere from $5000 to 12,000. I told Art a third company had already done a very expensive deep clean. He said it was good that I did the cleaning but that it only needed to be done every five years. He replaced some of the freon for $130 and colder air was blowing thru my vents in no time. All in all, this company saved me a boatload of money and I appreciate it.

In January 2006 we replaced our 21-year-old furnace and air conditioner due to some safety issues that developed with the furnace. I did a lot of research and determined that a heat pump would be the best choice for our one-story home in Los Angeles. I did research about the best rated heat pump brands and sought several estimates from highly rated contractors. I was really impressed by Tom from Cal Climate as we talked about what we needed. I learned that Tom is the son of the founder of Cal Climate, which his father started in the 1970s. He was happy to answer all of my questions and I sensed his love for installing HVAC systems. I also learned that Cal Climate is a certified Lennox dealer, and Lennox heat pumps are very highly rated. Although reviews suggest that some Lennox parts may be hard to get, Tom said that they have no trouble getting parts. I also sensed that he wasn't going to push us to get more than we needed. Cal Climate's estimates were very, very reasonable, and the Lennox one stage heat pump we selected was highly rated. Tom and his colleague Mike from Cal Climate removed our old HVAC system and installed the new heat pump and air handler in 2 days. They were very hard working and careful about the installation process. They were also very courteous and friendly, and were happy to answer all of my questions about the installation process and how heat pumps work. And, the heat pump works great! 110% recommend Calclimate HVAC for anyone who needs heating and cooling services in the Burbank area. I recently had them install a new HVAC system in my elderly father's condo, and I was very impressed with their work. The system hadn't been turned on in decades, so it was in pretty bad shape. Calclimate's technicians were professional and knowledgeable, and they did a great job of assessing the situation and recommending the best system given that there are no natural gas hookups to the home. They were also very patient and understanding. The installation process went smoothly, and the technicians were very clean and organized. They also took the time to explain how the system worked. I'm so grateful to Calclimate for their help. My father is now comfortable and cool in his condo, and he can finally enjoy the benefits of central heating and cooling. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for HVAC services in Burbank. read more

As far as I can tell, incredibly honest. Show up on time, do the work requested and don't "upsell" you into something you don't want or need. First call was a routine maintenance service. Second call months later for a clogged condensation pump on the A/C. Checked A/C and furnace for routine service this time as well. Mike is a good explainer. People in the office that answer the phone are friendly and are HAPPY to help you. This review is long overdue, but I need to praise Calclimate for their excellent service! Tom and Chris were professional, reliable, and provided quality work. Tom replaced my father's AC unit last summer on a short notice and provided much needed relief for my father, who was physically impaired at the time. Great business and service. Making an appointment was simple and got a confirmation email. Bob was wonderful. He knew a lot about ACs and gave me plenty of useful information. He examined all the AC vents and fixed the problem and did not try selling additional stuff. I wish more businesses were like Cal Climate. Highly recommend. read more

Highly recommend this family owned Co. Honest, knowledgeable, competitive prices. Bob is a great guy to work with and is a pleasure to work with. Cal Climate installed a new heating and A/C 14 ton variable speed high efficiency unit at my home in Pasadena 1.5 years ago. Very pleased with the unit, the installation and the price. read more
