    #1 chicken sandwich and fries
    Steve C.

Had lunch here and sat outside. The inside of the bar was a bit disheveled with various boxes of booze stacked throughout. Add the #1 chicken sandwich, which was good, but nothing noteworthy. Fries were good. Not the greatest place to sit outside as there are a lot of vagrants along with an unkept gas station across the street with people just milling about.

I spent the afternoon in Newport with Meg M the other day and we ended our day at Caleb & Broad. We sat at the bar and our server, Austin, was wonderful! He took great care of us and even showed us a picture of his dog (bonus points in my book.) I asked for his opinion on the least sweet margarita on the menu and he said he'd make me a house margarita, which was perfect! My friend got a delicious drink too, she likes the sweeter drinks, the menu has something for everyone. We did half price apps. My friend got the chicken parm dip which let me tell you... looked and smelled amazing. If I could eat cheese, I would have devoured it. I had the falafel bites and asked for the dip on the side. I'm picky with falafel and these were great. They were super flavorful and soft. My app, drink, and tip was $20!!! So inexpensive. Definitely coming back for happy hour. But the best part... while we were there a golden retriever, Maverick, tried to come in since the front gates were open for the patio. All the staff clearly knew him! It was so sweet! They brought him out bacon and a water bowl. He sat on the patio with his owner and then another regular customer came by with their dog and same thing! I love when restaurant patios are dog friendly and dog encouraged!

Why choose between a peanut butter or Oreo Mudslide when you can have both?
    Michael S.

What a great discovery! Walking in and being greeted by the cool, eclectic, and sometimes weird (that is a term of endearment from me) decor set the visit off on the right foot. But it was the service and menu that made it memorable! I love an inventive menu, so I'd be happy to have tried a grilled cheese with blueberry thyme jam and pickle egg rolls even if they were just okay - except everything was delicious! When our server told me I didn't have to make the impossible choice of peanut butter OR Oreo Mudslide but that they could do both, well, that sealed it. (Also the best Mudslide I've ever had!)

Daisy was awesome! It's rare to find good service. Especially in Newport! She really made me and my family feel super welcome. We love her!!! Also excited for the steak to be back. Super happy about the chicken parm app. Ambiance always great. I miss paper menus. DAISY ROCKS!!

Daisy made the whole night worth it! She had a great attitude and amazing service. We always come here but she really made us feel special. We love her!! We love this restaurant and we love daisy!! Can't wait for the steak to be back!!

I walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar on a monday afternoon, enjoyed the ambiance and the friendly staff. I ordered the lollipop chicken and the short ribs which were all delicious but huge portion sizes so I ended up having leftovers. Good spot for a casual meal, I plan on returning.

On certain Mondays, all entrees are $12! This was honestly a great deal. The steak was cooked to a lovely medium rare, came over a bed of sweet potatoes mixed with other veggies, that matched the flavor profile well. The steak was tender, and came with a little seasoned butter too. The ribs were super tasty with a great sauce, fell right off the bone, and a great portion size. The ribs came with a Mediterranean couscous, which didn't match the sauce on the ribs at all, and was a bit acidic. The zucchini and squash were a great touch but also didn't really go with the ribs. Chicken lollipops were dry, was expecting more curry. Restaurant was definitely busy, mostly locals. Service was mediocre, but could be attributed to the fact that they were busy! Full bar available, with drinks in cans offered. Restaurant is a little on the smaller side, but cozy environment for sure.

Incredible breakfast burrito - Short Rib Burrito! So yummy and flavorful.

Food was very good! Wasn't crowded on a Sunday morning. Not pictured but had a Blueberry Pancake espresso martini that was so frothy and amazing. I want it every morning

I brought my Dad in to celebrate his 83rd birthday and Courtney and the entire team were fantastic to him! I thought the food was great, especially the chorizo soup! Dad says he had a great time and ins in love with Courtney

My good friend Edson brought me to Caleb and Broad. Within 10 minutes I felt the cool vibe from the art on the walls and the people, especially Courtney who has the most vibrant, friendly personality. She turned my whole night around with hugs and sass. I will definitely be back. I get west coast chill vibes at this establishment and I love it.

We just had another fabulous dinner at Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant--our second time dining here…read moresince last fall, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. We arrived a little early for our 4:00 p.m. reservation, and the place was already packed. While we waited by the bar, a very nice waitress took our drink order--a lemon drop martini, beautifully crafted, well-balanced, and pleasantly strong. We were seated shortly after and, of course, ordered another. (Both times, I took several sips before remembering to take a photo!) Our waitress, Mikela, was truly lovely--sincere, sweet, and very courteous. She was attentive throughout the meal without ever being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and effortless. At the end, I told her I wished I could give her 6 stars, but Yelp only allows 5. For dinner, we both ordered the seared rare ahi tuna steak. I had mine with garlic bread, while my husband chose mashed potatoes. I also added the $9.95 salad buffet, which is such a great deal--you definitely won't leave hungry. I especially love their buffet-style salad bar, which offers nearly every option one could want. Both of our ahi tuna steaks were fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Once again, I dug into my tuna before remembering to take a photo! We finished the meal with a cheesecake to share--another delicious ending to a wonderful dinner. We're already planning our next visit--there are still so many dishes and drinks we'd love to try.

It is a legitimate original tavern - not a theme park restaurant made to look era appropriate. Very impressive. It's all dark wood and fireplaces - the ambiance is real. It does get a bit noisy from other diners, but that's expected in a place that uses and preserves the original materials and doesn't have rugs or decorations to muffle sounds. The place is a bit cramped, but that is expected as well. Original dwellings were not spacious. The steps at the door were awkward and upon leaving it was sort of surprising - you have to be careful upon exit. If you're nimble and aware then it won't be an issue, but if you're unsteady for whatever reason it could be bad. The food was dynamite. I had the beef Wellington - it was very delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I look forward to another visit.

She was nice enough to let me try them and I chose the Trevino which was very good and paired great with my food. The bread was nothing special but solid and the high quality olive oil made up for it. For my main I got the chicken milanese and it was divine. I loved the vinaigrette on top perfectly acidic and vinegary. It cut though the oil and heaviness of the breading which was perfectly salted by the way. The arugula bean salad was sooo good and created such a well balanced meal. The one thing I will say is I believe their fryer does fish and chicken bc my chicken had a slight ocean taste but since I like fish I was not bothered but non fish people beware!

We started off with drinks --gin dirty martini and a classic old fashion, both were perfectly made and crisp. Food: Appetizer-warm bread with butter was a nice starter. However I wish we got the escargot with bone marrow as we watched it being made it looked and smelled delicious. Entrees- we split a 27 oz ribeye and the scallops. The steak was a beautiful cut of meat, well marbled, cooked to perfection and seared so nicely. It was sooo tasty and seared with Malden salt. We are pretty snobby when it comes to steak and this was probably the best steak I've ever had out at a restaurant. The scallops similarly were cooked and seared perfectly and seasoned correctly. Laid on a bed of watercress and potato fondant it was the perfect delicate bite and contrasted nicely with the steak. We got the side of brussel sprouts with peanut Rayu which was a beautiful flavor bomb. I can't say enough about the food. Every single thing we ordered was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I find that to be a rarity in today's restaurant scene. I could not recommend this place more. We really enjoyed it and this will be used as a comparison to every restaurant I go to going forward. 6/5 stars! Come here
