I come here often with my family when in the area because we think it's one of the best brunch spots around. Today we came and were not disappointed. It is was a little crowded but they did a good job of handling it and provided good service. I ordered the breakfast quesadillas, my father got the veggie Rueben, my grandfather got the three egg omelet, my sisters got short stacks of pancakes, and my mother got the Creme Brûlée French toast. Our food took about twenty minutes, a normal wait time. When it came it was very good. The breakfast quesadilla was stuffed with scrambled eggs, peppers, beans, etc. On the side was some avocado salsa. It was delicious and very flavourful. The creme brûlée French toast was also good, with thick slices of creamy french toast thinly covered in creamy sauce. The veggie Rueben was good too, with potatoes, imitation beef (which was amazing considering some i've had) and all the classic elements of a good Rueben. My grandfather claimed the three egg omelet was good too and well cooked with the perfect amount of spice. My sisters both seemed satisfied with their pancakes and quickly devoured them. The drinks were good too. I got raspberry tea and they provided lots of hot water which I liked. (I've been to places where they barely provide enough water for a full cup of tea.) I hosted a brunch of 25 people at Caleb's and everything was great! The set up was perfect; there were two large tables in the sun room, very pretty. The food portions were large and delicious. The waitresses were very nice and on top of everything. read more

Had a great experience at Calebs this morning. We had a wait and the staff made sure to continually check on us and accommodate accordingly. Caleb's American kitchen is a great place to eat. The food is wonderful and they always have a delightful menu. The fact that I am gluten-free is an added bonus to eating at Caleb's. They are very efficient and very careful in the kitchen and can tell you at a moments notice what is gluten-free on their menu as it is marked for you I have had many a good meal there and it is a very enjoyable place. Thereis one drawback, The noise level is pretty high at Caleb's but it is something that you are willing to overlook for the great food great service and wonderful atmosphere and having a great meal with friends. read more

Caleb's is a real treat! Clean and casual with modern flair, the staff was attentive and the food was several notches above standard breakfast fare. Start with the BYOB - you can get pitchers or glasses of OJ and Bloody Mary mix (both were great and the mix was made fresh) and the fact that they don't rush you in and out - it made for a memorable and relaxed dining experience. We had a party of 8 and although it took a bit longer than expected to get the Bloody Mary mix to the table, our server did a great job of getting everyone set up with coffee, water and of course, let us get situated with Bloodies and Mimosa's before taking our orders. Bacon pancakes, banana's foster French toast, eggs Benedict, the breakfast sandwich and the thanksgiving turkey sandwich were all thoroughly enjoyed at our table along with several sides of rosemary home fries and hickory smoked bacon. The only complaint I heard was about the maple glazed ham on the eggs Benedict - it may have been fresh sliced in the kitchen but it did look more like lunch meat than the standard thick slice you might expect. All in all, I would certainly return and hope to do so next time we are back visiting this area! read more

My last two visits were outstanding. I had breakfast both trips to this Lahaska gem. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is bright and cheerful. I love the original artwork on the walls and the large windows that light up the place with beautiful natural light. My only ding is that it was over 35 dollars for two people for breakfast. That is tea and coffee to drink only with two breakfast meals and an extra order of toast. I just wish it was a little less pricey. read more

We rejoiced at the opening of a high-potential BYOB in our area, so we quickly made a dinner reservation. The prices looked a trifle high, but the connection to the local restaurant scene and interesting menu convinced us. Unfortunately, the experience didn't meet expectations, and fell significantly short in a few key areas. Caleb's gets 2 stars - the food is good, not great, the prices are high, and several service missteps lost our confidence altogether. First, the setting. The 2 dining rooms are noisy when crowded, brightly lit and decorated. That's not unusual or overtly negative these days, but if you want intimate, keep it in mind. Our table was topped by a glass slab, which didn't fit properly and left the impression that attention to detail might be an issue, which was in fact borne out by the rest of the evening. Other tables were topped by paper, which was occasionally ripped from a large roll adjacent to our table. The ripping sound punctuating our conversation was an annoyance, and we left feeling like the paper table covering cheapened the experience in light of the prices. Caleb, you should do linens. Next the food. First up was a very nice cheese and meat plate, though at $17 it seemed small-ish (4 slices of domestic proscuitto, several halved slices of salami and 4 or so small chunks of cheese). The paper-thin toast medallions were useless as a cheese conveyance as they were quite fragile, making for awkward eating. The quality of the meats and cheese was good, though, so as an appetizer sufficient for a not very hungry 4 it was encouraging. We all bought the Harvest Salad, described by the waitress as using local greens, artichokes and a house-made dressing. The salads arrived without the artichokes. We asked about the missing ingredient, and were brought a small cup with about 2 tablespoons of diced artichoke bottom. Not much for 4 salads. Again, the salad was good despite the assembly mistake, so we forged ahead hopefully. The 4 entrees were all delivered on huge plates, crowding the small table. All but one (the mixed grill) was overwhelmed by the plates (AKA pretty small). My special, a bouillabaisse-like fish stew, was well prepared but unremarkable. At $32 I'd have expected more variety and substance - there seemed to be more potatoes than shellfish, and other than a decent flaky fish (I forget the species) there were several very tender pieces of calamari, about 4 mussels and 2 tiny clams. Once I was past the calamari, there was little to capture my interest. The others agreed that their entrees were good, not great. Again, if you have a big appetite, you need to order accordingly, driving up the cost with appetizers, I guess. Now, the service. The staff wasn't terribly attentive, and we had to ask for water more than once - and the water seemed to us to be tap water delivered in glass bottles. We weren't offered upgraded water or other non-alcoholic drinks at all. The mortal sin to us was how the waitress handled our glasses. While delivering entrees she grabbed the rim of one person's water glass with one finger in and one outside the glass to move it. He set the glass aside and asked for another. The same person later moved my wine glass by grabbing it across the top rim and setting it down a few inches away. No way I was drinking from that glass, and I'm glad it was nearly empty, or I'd have wasted some of my wine. I stopped her and asked for another glass, explaining why. This focused our conversation on the kinds of gross things that could be going on elsewhere, not a good vibe for a new restaurant. We were too put-off at this point to be interested in dessert, so I have no idea if they are good or not. Caleb, I wish you well, since I would really like to believe that we can have a great little BYOB close to home. Your team needs training, both in the kitchen and in the dining room. I so wished to be able to rave about Caleb's and I had planned to check out the breakfast menu soon. No more. read more

Birthday dinner for my friend. Turned into the parking lot off of 263 across busy traffic and some jerk double parked his Tesla causing a near-miss accident. (Stay tuned.) We were seated and the waitress brought margarita mix and placed our taco and app order. So far so good. After half hour, I flagged down our waitress to get a second drink for my friend. The waitress dropped the drink down and never asked if we wanted more water which we did. Somehow other tables had cold Perrier. Finally, after a long wait, the couple next to us was served their appetizer. The woman looked at us and said "You were here before us. You should have ordered what we ordered". We did. The place was chaos. I watched as people went up to the hostess stand to ask for things because they couldn't get attention from their server and as other people got up and stopped their server to ask for a check. After an hour of sitting there waiting and being completely ignored, I flagged down our waitress and told her we no longer wanted our appetizer. She apologized and said they were backed up which was apparent. Shortly thereafter she brought out tacos, and they were awful. But I am not writing this review because of any of that. I'm writing because Caleb showed up at our table and asked "How is everything?" When I said, "Well, we waited..." He cut me off and leaned over me with his long greasy hair and very aggressively said, "That is not what I asked. How was the FOOD. That is what matters -the food." But that is NOT what he asked. He asked how was "everything". And of course, what matters is the whole experience. I could have told him that and also that the food was awful, that it was 8 PM at night and my starving friend only ate one taco because they were so bad. But I did what he wanted and said, "It is great". And then he had the further audacity to say, "See. That is what matters. The food". He further made an excuse about a new menu item. 30 years as a chef and you can't handle adding tacos to your menu? Five minutes later he walked out of the restaurant and got into the double-parked Tesla to leave. What a guy! But don't trust my review. Was extremely excited to try this restaurant and we have been looking to try for a while. Finally went this morning and was immediately disappointed by the service. Understand that the morning is always busy but we were treated like we were completely rude for showing up. Hostess was nasty and overwhelmed. It was extremely packed but the server was short, order was completely wrong, poached eggs tasted like pure vinegar, and everything was cold. When we tried to get our order fixed, it took us 20 minutes to get our servers attention. Save your money and go to Chive Cafe or Cock N Bull. read more

I read all of the poor reviews on this restaurant very briefly before spontaneously obtaining a short notice reservation. After my meal here I can generalize the previous reviewers as impatient and miserable. If the staff is friendly and you're having an exceptional meal with company of your choice, there should be extremely little room for complaint. The wait staff couldn't have been more personable and knowledgable about the menu. Even the hostess was able to detail the gaminess of the antelope that was on the intriguing list of specials. The chef greeted every table in the restaurant and even cleared most of the plates, from what I was able to observe. To start I had a salad of local crisp greens. My meal of veal short rib was tender and hot. Will definitely be returning, possibly even within the next week. read more

cute little place on 202. friendly staff, good food, bright and inviting atmosphere albeit a little modern for my taste. my boyfriend got the quesadillas, I got the breakfast tacos and we split banana Nutella pancakes because we're fat asses. the eggs were fluffy and warm. I got a good bit of feta cheese on mine which I enjoyed. the home fries were SO SO good- we both loved them. the pancakes were super fluffy. my only complaint was there wasn't much Nutella on the pancakes- just a smattering on top, none in between the 3 pancakes, but let's be honest, I don't NEED that much Nutella anyway. anyway, if you're in the area, this is a good spot to stop, at least for breakfast! read more

We came here after shopping in Peddler's Square. We had an 8:15 reservation but wandered in earlier and they were able to accommodate us! The service was wonderful, the food was superb and the atmosphere was modern and tranquil. I had the soup with kale and vegetables and the salmon for my entree. Everything was cooked to perfection! We went there with another couple and was delighted the overall experience. The atmosphere was very clean and contemporary. Each of us ordered different dishes and everything was superb! The service was quick and thorough, we did not wait to be seated or served. We were even greeted by the chef in the the few minutes he could even though it was really busy. The restaurant was a bit loud, but not overwhelming and mostly because it was full. We'll definitely be back for another visit. read more

This is my second time dining at Caleb's American Kitchen and it once again lived up to the hype. Our wonderful hostess/waitress was attentive and we enjoyed a plentiful basket of hot french bread as well as a solid grilled romaine salad. The main course was phenomenal; my boyfriend had the bacon burger which was cooked to perfection with high quality meat (steak-like quality). I had the salmon which was crispy and delicious. Prior to dessert, we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Caleb himself, who walked around the dining room to introduce himself and check on guests. It was a pleasure to meet him. The flourless chocolate cake was a perfect portion for two to split and not feel overwhelmed. Overall an amazing experience; we will be back again by the end of the week! One noteworthy anecdote: our first time dining at Caleb's we failed to BYO wine due to the early closing of nearby wine & spirits stores. Free of charge, the kitchen kicked in a nice red blend wine. This is a testament to the experience this restaurant strives to produce. read more

Don't judge this place by its unassuming exterior, because inside are exceptional decor, food, and service which will thoroughly delight you! The bright, sunny, modernist interior is actually warm and inviting, with big windows and bucolic views from every table. The dishes on the menu may be familiar, but everything is just an extra notch or more tastier and pleasing to the eye than expected. The service was warm, gracious, and efficient--just right! The best part about this place is that most of the items are GF. Terrific steaks... My buddy had the ribeye and it was fantastic and I had the NY Strip that was very taste. My wife had the scallops that were non-fish tasting and good. The tuna poke hit the spot while the others enjoyed a nice prepared salad. I will go back! X read more

HORRIBLE experience. We ordered and the waitress was messy spilling coffee and cream all over. We order and then 20 minutes later she comes back saying the system crashed and she had to take our order again. We then waited ANOTHER 30 minutes for our meal to come. Once the meal came, 3/5 meals were okay. The 4th meal was an omelet with sausage and bacon and there were minuscule amounts of meat in it. The last dish was a special french toast that was cold. They did not even apologize or compensate us for any dish. TERRIBLE experience! read more

We just had our 6 th meal at Caleb's and, like all of the others, it was wonderful. It was a Tuesday night (take that Craig LeBan) and everything was superb, as usual. The crab tacos and lobster rolls could not have been better. The integrity of the ingredients was complimented with wonderful sauce and seasoning. Main courses of a lobster, shrimp, scallop risotto glistened with saffron color and, again, the flavors were wonderful. I cannot get my wife to stop ordering Caleb's burger which she swears is the best ever and again to night was great. A fresh Harvest salad accompanied the meal followed by the flourless choclate cake and the fruit crisp desserts. We really don't think there is anyone in the New Hope-Doylestown-Lambertville area who is a better chef than Caleb, try him. read more

Should have known service would be poor from the moment we walked in the door. We weren't even shown to our table, the hostess just said you'll be sitting there and pointed to our table then brought the menus over later. Had to wait for the waitress several times during the meal. After we paid our bill and we'd been there exactly two hours from the time we sat down, the chef asked us to leave because another reservation was waiting for table. We told him he lost our business, and that we wouldn't be coming back but he said he didn't care. I've never been asked to leave in all my meals from NYC, to New Orleans to Las Vegas. It's a shame since it was good food and it was a convenient meeting point for the three of us. read more

We just had a lovely Monday Local's Night at Caleb's! The special soup, named San Morejo, I think, is a lovely twist on a gazpacho. Our ahi tuna and "turkey dinner," entrees were super tasty. Lunch for 2 today. Arrived just after 1130 to a mostly empty restaurant. After a cheerful greeting from the hostess, we were seated at a table at the window overlooking the parking lot and our car. The room is spacious, modern and clean. There is a second, smaller room with doors that could easily be a party room. Our waitress came over with fresh, cold water in a bottle, poured some into glasses and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. A diet soda and an iced tea sent her away for a few moments. We studied the menu, trying to decide on breakfast (available until noon) or lunch (starting @ 1130). When our waitress returned, my partner asked for her favorite item on the menu, and when the answer was the Cobb Salad, she ordered it. I decided on a burger with aged cheddar & bacon, well done, which is how it arrived ... kudos to the chef! Accompanied by terrific, crispy & nicely salted fries and whole grain Dijon mustard (by request), my lunch was excellent, as was Lynn's salad. While we were eating, the restaurant filled up, even into the smaller room ... for a Tuesday, it was crowded! Our waitress paid attention to us, checking if the food was okay, refilling soda and tea and, in general doing a good job in a crowded restaurant. She noticed we were done and offered dessert menus. We chose the pear, blueberry, strawberry crisp with vanilla ice-cream, and I ordered a hot Earl Grey tea. Dessert was fresh, hot & outstanding. Tea was also excellent ... not Lipton or Twining. All in all, highly recommended, and we can't wait to go back to try breakfast & dinner. read more

I loved it here. It made for such an intimate, cozy night with my boyfriend. I had the Cowboy Pork Chop, which was delicious. They substituted mashed potatoes for french fries with no issue, and it still went with the meal very well. My boyfriend had the beef medallions, he said they were very good as well. He loved the veggies from both of our plates. Caleb himself came and shook our hands and wished us happy holidays. It was a great night, and I hope we will return. read more

Just returned from dinner at Caleb's and we liked it very much! We liked the former Waterlillies, but this is a step up. It's still BYO, but they've upgraded the glassware. The decor is up a notch, too, although we miss the aquarium. The chop chop salad was excellent. The salmon was very tasty and nicely proportioned. The service was attentive and efficient. read more
