Came here for lunch while we were walking the strip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice family friendly resturant with good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My catfish was really good. Flaky and great breading. The dipping tartar had a nice flavor too. Everyone says their food was really good except the burnt ends. I didn't try them but others said the bacon wrapped threw the taste off. Outside of that, the food and drinks were good. We had a really cool server too. I can't recall his name but he was patient with our party and attentive. This is a place I would return to when in the area.

Was here for a work trip & our team came here for the dinner. Service, food and drinks were amazing! It's not pictured but the loaded potatoes skins are reallyyyyy good.

I thought about this white chicken chili for 20 years. It's so good. I've never had such light fried catfish. The salmon was very good. The strawberry shortcake w ice cream was the perfect ending

Food was ok, nothing spectacular that would make me come back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere was quiet but it's February.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] LOL Service was wonderful - Waitress was attentive and stopped by often.

We were lured into Calhoun by the 3 hour parking validation and the road sign promising great BBQ. Service was fast and friendly, they also provided bread basket for the table after taking our orders. We ordered the kick back burger and Calhoun's Trio Calhoun's Trio (1/5) - sadly this dish was very disappointing. The chicken tender had a wet texture and batter fell apart the second we took a bite. The BBQ pork ribs was on par with premade ribs you can get at Costco or grocer stores. The smoked pork was bland and close to room temp, which showed they didn't even microwave it long enough before serving. If this is the Tennessee BBQ standard, they got nothing on Texas. Kick Back burger (2/5) - This was the better of the two dishes. The burger patty was cooked medium, and the favor was solid, however the burger buns seem to be smashed and doesn't taste too fresh. Sadly, this place is below my expectation even for a small touristy town, and I would not recommend others to try the place.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot, so convenient and loved the atmosphere, very welcoming and homey to a large group who decided to stop by.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service with our waitress was 5 out of 5 - she was amazing, thank you Janice. Food was hot and arrived in a timely matter, just wasn't my favorite, besides the coleslaw. If you eat the coleslaw with some ribs, tastes amazing together. Coleslaw was very fresh, with a hint of sweetness and creaminess and the saltiness of the ribs makes it delightful. The ribs all by itself were very tender but salty from the smokiness. The catfish was cooked to perfection but lacked seasoning, the batter took me by surprise because it reminded me of fried chicken batter. I would prefer cornmeal. All in All, I give service 5 out of 5 and food 4 out of 5! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice spot for family and I would recommend for everyone![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great playlist too![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you Calhoun's!

We were seated, greeted, ordered drinks and appetizer and it went even further down hill from there. Our server never brought my husbands drink, finally had to find the manager to get it. She never came to take our order, so had to find the manager again. I know you might be thinking, why didn't you leave? We purposely came later to avoid crowds and didn't know if we would be able to find anywhere else to go. Our server had a huge table that she messed up, so she was flustered, I get it, but never came back. Manager finally took our order, food came out, food was good, maybe not best choice to come at end of night, felt quality might have been better earlier in the evening. I had to yell across the booths at my server and ask for a refill of tea, she literally brought me a glass of tea, no ice. I said, can I have ice, still giving her benefit of doubt as she was visibly upset; never came back to our table, swept the floors, cleaned booths and walked by twice, and then she said, as we were still eating, you want your check? The service was HORRIBLE!! I get it, you had a bad table, but take care of the one you still have!! She also swept right in front of our table as we were eating and said, I won't sweep under you since your still eating, gee thanks! IDK if this is the norm, but we weren't impressed. So sad when you are excited to go somewhere and it turns out like this :(

They definitely don't skimp on portions. The chips are seasoned really well, the cheese sauce has great flavor without being overly spicy, and if you're not a fan of heat, the jalapeños can be served on the side. One thing I appreciated was being able to choose our own BBQ sauce from the options available at the table. Both sauces were solid, and it was nice to customize each bite to our taste - one more sweet and the other more savory. The rest of our group was equally happy with their meals. My mom ordered the brisket sandwich and loved it, while my brother-in-law got the quarter BBQ chicken and said it was cooked perfectly: juicy, flavorful, and with just the right amount of pinkness that good smoked chicken often has. A great bonus is that you can add their ultimate salad bar to any entrée for only $8, which is a fantastic value. The staff was wonderful throughout our visit: kind, patient, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. They answered questions without making us feel rushed and kept everything running smoothly for our group. We walked over after spending time at Ober Mountain, and it made for the perfect meal after a busy day. My only "complaint" is that they serve Pepsi products, but that's really just because I'm a devoted Coke fan, so I'll chalk that up to a personal character flaw rather than a restaurant problem. Highly recommend if you're looking for generous portions, great BBQ, and friendly service in Gatlinburg.

It was okay. The green beans were lifeless and flavorless. I ate them because...nutrients?! P.S. The cashier was soliciting tips from the customers. I overheard another customer complaining about it and then I confirmed it with my husband, who had stood in line to pay. Apparently, it's a situation where you can tip on your card and that doesn't need to be pointed out, but the cashier was applying the pressure by asking folks outright if they would like to leave a tip. It was just slightly uncomfortable, and effective. Both my husband and the other customer who was complaining left a tip. The meat is falling-off-the-bone tender. And there are three BBQ sauces: mild, sweet and spicy. Here's the bad: The food is only as good as the sum of its parts. The ribs alone, okay. The pulled pork, practically bland. Potato salad and BBQ sauces, they're okay. Everything is not bad, but not good either. It's like BBQ made for people who are supposed to be watching their diet. Low sugar. Low salt. Low flavour. Here's the solution: Combine everything. Order the pretty good potato salad and the better than average baked beans, get a bit of each in your mouth, and boom: You've got a yummy mouthful. Did you get the well cooked but bland pulled pork? Worry not friends. Combine the BBQ sauces. Soak that pulled pork with two parts of the okay Spicy sauce, one part of the meh Sweet sauce and three parts of the, more flavorful but still missing something, Mild sauce. And tadaah, You've got the most amazing Pulled Pork Sandwich. Then, use that same sauce combo for your ribs to kick them up. Ultimately, it's a DIY BBQ situation and up to you to decide if the taste is worth the effort.
