Gf recommendation before getting boba. This Korean-pho place is five minutes walking distance from Boba Bear. Parking is limited during peak times Inside is kind of small from a typical pho place. Menu is diverse but carries the traditional of appetizers, vermicelli, pho and rice dishes. Each table has the traditional hoisin sauce, siracha, and chilli paste. Fork is available on request. Water is free. Order the cali pho which is the pho combination but has seafood in it. So that's a plus But here's the major difference with this place. The spoon you are using...is what you normally get if you order something that feeds at least 4 people. The bowl is huge. Onions, cilantro, jalepenos and bean sprouts are all on the side. It's not on the bowl so that's a good thing. Can request extra lime but don't know if it's charge. Broth is not too oily. Majority of the negative reviews come from the service which I agree. You have to constantly raise your hand if you need something. Party order two lemonades and I was almost done with my bowl and place wasn't even busy around 8pm Overall, recommend on giving this place a try. read more

The pho from Cali-Pho-Nia is so-so because the soup lacks substance and tastes artificial. Everything in the bowl of noodle soup comes from pre-prepared ingredients sourced from a large food supplier. The soup tasted artificial, flat, and utterly devoid of fat and aromatic oils. This is a strong indication that the soup was made from a pre-mixed package. Because when you eat authentic pho, you get a real beef broth made from meat, bones, and aromatics like roasted garlic, ginger, onions, and spices. This means there will be fat and oils--the good stuff--present in the soup.  To be clear, sourcing from a food supplier isn't a bad thing. For many businesses, this is the most economical way of staying in business. But this also means the restaurant would likely serve lower-quality food and wouldn't stand out from other restaurants in the same genre. read more

Although the food is delicious, there is one lady who works there who makes it an obligation to give tip. We were sitting there and she stopped a customer who had already paid and was about to walk out the door come back to give tip. This is very discouraging because although tip is not obligated people give it to how they are helped. This is something the owner should really discuss with their employees. read more

Ordered the brisket pho. Very clean light weight broth. Good quality of brisket. I did add some of the extras to mine like the chili sauce and the hoisin sauce. Love adding the optional limes. They do not greet you when you come. I have come here a couple of times. Every time I order they always forget one thing I ordered and I never get it or remind them. So it's their loss. My friend told me about this place and wanted to try it out. When I went with my friend she didn't tip because the service wasn't good and the lady yelled and followed her to the door asking for a tip. That is so rude of her to yell at my friend. This place has Korean style pho with cilantro, not with Thai basil... which is good for Korean people. I prefer Thai basil. The quantity of the pho is only large size available. The size of noodle with soup is huge which can be good for men or people with big stomach. I wish this place has choice to order a regular size like other pho places. Strange choice of vegetables for vegan pho . It said eight different kinds of vegetables on the details on Uber Eats and all it had was green onions, onions, broccoli, and cauliflower which really doesn't taste good inside of pho. t's just more of an Americanized pho, but the vegetables were pretty soggy and bland. I would recommend changing the veggies. There was bean sprouts and slices of jalapeño so I don't know if they were acting like those were part of the vegetables, but that's not really what I feel like you would assume for a vegan pho of veggies, those are toppings. There was no herbs, just cilantro, which I feel like as a big part of Vietnamese pho. I understand not everyone does the same thing but just making this comment in case people wanted a lot of herbs and lime because this one doesn't have many. What really disappointed me as they put one slice of lime for the entire soup and you can't even taste it. One baby slice :( the lime is my favorite part so this was sad. The broth had a decent flavor, and taste pretty good when you add all the sauces but the vegetables made the pho lower in taste . Overall, it was pretty tasty with the sauces, but the choice of vegetables and one lime slice made me not want come back here again. All in all, not bad not excellent , but good. read more

Originally this was my favorite go to pho place. but the service there has been getting worse and worse. The broth was my favorite, but this weekend I found a literal bug/parasite in my soup! Plus the white rice that I ordered was very hard, and and my veggies were wilted, just like last time. I tried to give it another chance but NO. The service, just like last time, was rude. Tried to be quiet about the bug to not mess up their business, as sometimes flies could get into things. but I was met with the employee trying to embarrass me in front of everyone, saying I was lying and just didn't want to pay. It was so much better before Covid.. I feel just a little bad leaving this review because of the husband ( he didn't seem rude but who knows ) but the lady...RUDE. We arrive and she just kind of throws the menu on the table and walks off, no smile or nothing. You can feel the hostility. We get there first but a couple minutes after a man and women of their race walk in and she automatically starts greeting them with a smile & takes their order first even though we were ready! Don't know who they were but either she is racist or they have $$$ so she was kissing a** Besides bringing our food she never came back to the table to ask if we needed anything & there was only 4 people in there. All she did was stand by the counter and stare to see when we would finish. Asked for check and she brought it but then when I asked for to go cup she took the check back and added $2!!! $2 for to go cups / boxes is ridiculous. ALSO demanded a tip even though no service was provided besides bringing the food we ordered.Basically saying I couldn't leave till I tipped. This is ILLEGAL in California you cannot demand a tip! At one point they even had a parking man / valet and you had to pay $5 to park in there ! I wonder if they was losing customers and that's why they took it off. First time customer here. Came in close to midnight for a warm bowl of noodles which turned out to be a complete nightmare. To start off, there's a guy controlling the parking lot and charging $3 for parking which isn't a lot so that wasn't a big deal. My partner and I got to choose our own seats and the waiter came to take our orders about 10 minutes later. We got the brisket pho and chicken pho. Let me just say that the chicken was super over cooked and tough. No matter how good or bad the food was, this is what ruined the entire experience for me.. The waiter comes to place both bowls down and the bowl which was placed in front of me completely spilled all over me. The bowl cracked in half and the piping hot soup spilled all over me. It happened so fast that I couldn't even jump up in time to avoid it. The waiters reacted so slowly and on top of it all, I HAD TO REQUEST for napkins to dry myself up. There's no surprise that the soup is hot, but all the waiter did was say sorry. There wasn't even any curiosity on if I was fine or anything. I obviously had to change tables since the current one, chairs and surrounding floors had soup everywhere. The employees also didn't even clean up the mess during the entire time I was there. Just left everything wet and filthy. I also had to flag the waiters down in order to get refill on water, and for the check. They were too busy chatting and dancing...??????? This place opens the latest out of a lot of pho places that I've found. The noodle portions are huge and even the spoon they give you is huge. The soup was kind of bland so I did put a lot of ingredients and it could be due to how much soup they give you. Next time I would definitely share my bowl.
