I called and spoke with the receptionist to schedule an appointment on a Wednesday for a quick repair estimate. Fernando was able to draft up the estimate to send to my insurance. I then scheduled an appointment to drop it off first thing the following Monday to begin repairs. I also had explained to Fernando that I was paying out of pocket for a rental while my vehicle was going to be repaired, so if the work was going to take longer than expected (about a week and a half), to let me know so I could make new arrangements. A few days went by and I hadn't heard anything or received any updates. I made my boyfriend the point of contact while I was at work. I asked him to call for a status update. We then got a call back from Fernando that Thursday, with not so good news. He mentioned he was having a hard time getting an approval from my insurance to proceed with the repairs. He did mention he called more than once and did not receive a response. Fuming, assuming that my car was being worked on, my car sat there for days and I paid a rental for nothing. Fernando completely dropped the ball and should have communicated to me sooner about the situation. At that point I called my insurance and got the ball rolling. The following week was Thanksgiving and I was informed my car would not be completed the day prior, as I had hoped. Given they were closed for Thanksgiving and the following day, my car sat there again, for another 2 days without being worked on. Ultimately, what should have taken about a week and a half, ended up being 3 weeks from start to finish for the repairs because of the lack of communication in the beginning. My insurance (Aspire) was horrendous, and dealing with them made everything twice as difficult. But had I not called them and lit a fire under their ass to communicate with my shop of choice, I definitely think this process would have taken even longer. On Friday of the 3rd week, my car was finally ready. Here's the kicker. The shop didn't initially want to release my vehicle without confirmation of payment from my insurance. My insurance had agreed to pay a certain amount from the original estimate, but as we know with repairs and it being the holidays, unexpected things come up. Fernando did communicate he was trying to find reasonably priced parts. But given my insurance was so shitty and lacked a reasonable response time, the parts were no longer available, so Fernando had to adjust and order different parts that were a little more in pricing. With that being said, the remaining balance was a few hundred dollars. The reason they wanted to not release my vehicle was because they had another customer previously, with the same insurance that I had, and they had not received payment for repair work that was done. While I am understanding, that was completely separate to my situation. My insurance had already paid for 95% of the repairs. With it being a Friday afternoon, they wouldn't have heard from my insurance until the following Monday regarding the remaining balance. I was not about to go another 2 days without my vehicle because of an issue that had nothing to do with me. If there was a reoccurring issue with a specific insurance, then they should opt to not work with certain insurances going forward. Fernando was able to speak with his manager and get my car released to me that day, and I was grateful. I understand that things come up and don't always go as planned. I also understand they are busy and I am not the only customer. But its not that hard to send a quick text, leave me a voicemail or send a quick email regarding the situation. The work done on my vehicle was A+. Given this was my second experience with them, they do take longer to do repairs compared to previous experiences at other shops, so keep that in mind.

He said they don't paint the cars but there is a menu that shows they paint. All the redflags were going off in my head about the quality of their service. I was able to order replacement parts online, and the fine folks at Caliber Collision took care of the install. The entire process was as easy as it gets. I brought the replacement parts to the shop, and a half-hour later, the broken drip rail was replaced and looked like new. I also had the shop replace the drip rail on the other side of my windshield since I had the extra part. Everything came out great and the folks I worked with were super friendly and fast.
