I went to Calibunga for the first time during the last day of the season (September 7, 2025) for my birthday. It was a great time overall! But I will stress coming early. My friends and I basically came at opening, and the lines were minimal but definitely got more crowded as the day went on. The workers also aren't really that efficient on some of the slides, so I can understand people waiting long when it's busier. A big pro is that the food prices were pretty good (compared to Six Flags at least). $3.50 for a 24 ounce fountain drink, $3 for an ice cream sandwich, $12 for a cheese pizza... I couldn't think of any other amusement/water park with prices as low. I got the fountain drink included with the pizza by purchasing a meal ticket online. When I also asked for a cup of water, I was given it in the big 24 ounce cup. It was cold and didn't have that tap water taste, so that was very appreciated! The showers in the women's room didn't work, but there's some outside to the right of the changing rooms. You just have to hold the button for water to come out. I do wish the employees assisted a bit more - There was one slide where my friend and I (skinny and not the strongest people) struggle to get our tube down the slide at the start. The employee just watched us? In every other waterpark I've been to, the employee would give a push. I just generally got the feeling that employees didn't really care at the park. Was super excited to revisit after their rebranding from raging waters, but left super disappointed. We lined up for the Barracuda and after about 40 mins of waiting, someone in the line passed out and they closed the whole thing down. We walked over to try out another slide and the same thing happened, someone else passed out and they closed it down again. (Which btw it's hot, please make sure you're hydrating yourselves lol). Most of the staff seem to be young adults who don't really know what they're doing, didn't really feel any sense of urgency when these medical emergencies were happening. We even tried to go in the lazy river and that was closed too, genuinely so confused why everything was just closing. By the time the lazy river opened back up, there wasn't even enough tubes for people to use!! A majority of the slides are closed down for renovation, a bit confused why this park is even operating especially paying after $40 for the half the slides to be down. Eventually when the slides opened back up, the lines were so long that we only had time to get on barracuda before the park closed. Wow it's been years since I came here. I remember getting season passes when it was Raging waters. They have cool season pass options. I came as a buddy for my friend's birthday, she got a season pass and was able to invite us for a cheaper price than a day pass. Definitely recommend doing that if you want to host a party. Some of the rides were closed down but a good chunk of the good ones were open. My all time favorites are Dragons Den, Barracuda Blaster, the Serpentines (do the yellow, it's the best), shotgun falls, and the Great White Shark. They have you remove slippers, glasses/goggles, and you have to hold it while going down the slides. Food is sooo expensive. And basic. But for the convenience of not having to leave it's better than nothing. HOWEVER they were very generous with water, they give it out in tall soda cups. Also, DO NOT bother with the salad. It's like a Safeway or Costco salad kit. We got dippn dots but they were in the packet. And also got Dole whip. When I was a kid my family would bring food and we would eat it outside, easy to return back inside, you just get a stamp. read more

Rented a cabana by the wave pool and it was the best. It came with a table and 4 chairs, two lounge chairs, a locker for you valuables and mini cooler. Very shady and worth the money. My family and I went in on a Sunday and it wasn't terribly packed but still a lot of foot traffic. The water slides were so much fun! Wait time of no more than 10 mins. Also the lawn is so dry, you would think before opening they would've cleaned that up.. all the money people spend clean it up no one wants to step on dry grass.. there was so many birds and squirrels.. we didn't try any of the food shacks but there are a few and they also sell beer. Purchased a Slide Creek Cabana and 6 park tickets. Had never been prior to this visit. The cabana really helped out with shade for the kids and adults. The server was okay but not attentive. The food was all deep fried and processed. The food shacks listed all kinds of different wraps which sounded really good, but they don't have them in stock. From other reviews, It sounds like they haven't had the wraps since they opened for the season. There were some patrons who were clearly under the influence of something. One of them passed out multiple times and then puked in one of the pools. Speaking as a trained first responder, don't have a medical emergency here. Let's be honest--this is still Raging Waters, but it looks like they've really cleaned up the place. Calibunga was a pleasant experience, and here's how it went down. The entire park feels refreshed with new paint jobs here and there, making it look much better than before. All your old-time favorites are still here, like the Endless River, Shotgun Falls, the Great White Shark slide, and more. The three main slides now have new colors, giving them a fresh look. However, some slides are still not open, suggesting that this might have been somewhat of a soft opening. The staff was friendly, and the lifeguards were attentive. The food options are new and look decent--I saw pizzas and fries being delivered to cabanas quite often. The cost of admission is $49, or $39 if you buy it online ahead of time. Overall, the park now has more of an amusement park vibe, and you can tell they're planning to continue expanding. I see a lot of potential here, and it was a good time. read more

Today was grand opening day and walking in took me back to those good old days when it was raging waters. Honestly there's nothing new looks the same just the name change. My sister in law did reserve two cabanas and we were seated right next to the wave pool. Service was great we order through the QR code and employee brought out our food and endless water The day was perfect not too hot not too cold and it wasn't really packed for first day opening. I would say this what I didn't like was a few slides were not working plus the wave pool and the food choices are terrible. Me and my mom were in line to buy food and asked for water which the girl helping us was going to give us water but found out it was cashless so we had to turn our cash into a card machine which you can use to purchase food and merchandise so we had to egg out of line to do that as we returned we ended up in a different line than the original which then I asked for water and was told they don't sell water and there not allowed to give water in a cup like what and they were out of all wraps they offer on the menu for the crazy price we paid for chicken tenders and fries $16.99 the amount they give was definitely not worth it. Just okay. There aren't many water parks in the area so I guess beggars can't be choosers, but...compared to water parks I enjoyed as a kid, this place is very mid. Surprisingly few options, especially given the price - several slides were not open even though you're still paying full price. Some annoying patron behavior - in the lazy river, I watched a duo of middle aged moms hoard two of the limited-supply inner tubes each for about 45 minutes, sprawling their bodies across the multiple tubes they claimed while many folks trying to enter the river could not find even one free tube. The youth lifeguards don't monitor behavior so if folks choose to be selfish, there's nothing stopping them. Similarly, once the gates open, folks run to claim all the seats with shade with a towel - so if you want a place to sit down that's not in full beating sun, you better get there right at opening. There's definitely an intense "tragedy of the commons" vibe here. Food is meh, heavy, and expensive, like any theme park - but the taco truck was an okay bet. Big theme park markup and they were out of a lot of things on the menu, but tasty enough. Nonetheless, the kiddos had fun and the wave pool in particular was a hit. Shoot we had our senior trip there in 1988! Yes it's run by a bunch of teens and young adults. Yes not all the slides are open yet. Yes it's water park prices for the food. Not Disney prices. The park was clean, well organized, lots of employees, the fries were very crispy and oh so good. We recently visited CaliBunga Waterpark (formerly Raging Waters) for my niece's birthday. Growing up, my family came here every summer for church trips, family reunions, and birthdays. The last time we visited was for my son's first birthday, so now that the kids are older, we were excited to return to the water park we knew and loved. Unfortunately, it is just not the same anymore. Prices are way too high for what is offered. At the gate, admission was $65.99, but they advertised $43.99 online. We bought tickets online and still got charged $59.99 for adults and $55.99 for kids. I get that it is a big waterpark, but it never used to be this expensive. To make things worse, a lot of rides were not even open. The park itself has not changed much. They just added more chairs around. Even the little kid areas like the Little Dipper and Activity Pool slides were shut down, which was really disappointing. My youngest only got to go on one slide, Slide Creek Falls, and even that ride was cut short. They would not let kids float through the full area, just a quick slide then out. Not worth the wait at all. We also went to get Dole Whip, which was advertised everywhere, only to be told, "We do not have pineapples right now." Then why advertise it? That was one of the few things that made their food stand out. They were also out of other items like the wrap. I will always have love for the old Raging Waters, but this experience was a letdown. Only a couple of big slides were open, and most of our time was spent in the Wave Pool and Lazy River. Those are things we could have done at any other waterpark for much less. My kids still had fun because they love water, but for the price, it just was not worth it. If you are going to charge this much for a half-open park and limited food options, the least you could do is allow outside food. We went yesterday and had a blast! We had a range of little kids to adults in a group of 18. We rented a pirate cove cabana and because of our dietary restrictions brought in our own food. Note that you can bring food in soft cooler bags no hard ones. The cabanas are super clean and nice with plenty of seating and plenty of shady room for us all! The pirate cove cabanas specifically were larger and came with a cooler and a safe for your belongings. We were right by a few slides and the big pirate play structure for the kids which worked out perfectly as we got the choice of keeping an eye on them from the cabana. Every person rode slides and had a blast, the lines were reasonable it wasn't crowded for a Saturday. Overall we can't wait to come back and do it again, the area is really pretty and vibes are great. Oh also the huge beers and cocktails are $10-11, the cocktails (beach juice) were so good I thought it was worth it. And Yes - There were lots of closed slides, and the wave pool doesn't start waving until the 4th of July... but the park is so big with a bunch of options we didn't get bored at all. read more

However, the events of yesterday compel me to speak out. During my visit with my child, I chose to enjoy one of the three water slides. While entering the orange slide, my sunglasses--an irreplaceable gift from my late father--fell off in front of me. I immediately informed the first lifeguard on duty, who advised me that only a supervisor could assist. A short while later, a supervisor arrived and informed me that retrieval could not take place until after 6:00 PM when a diver would go down. She directed me to register the item at the Guest Service Center, which I did without hesitation. I emphasized to another staff member how important these sunglasses were, both emotionally and practically, and asked for their help in watching for them. At the time, another guest had a similar issue and I explained the same process to her. At around 2:00 PM, I encountered the same guest at another attraction. She mentioned that two pairs of sunglasses had been retrieved and that she had claimed one. I immediately returned to Guest Services to inquire again, but was told nothing had been found and asked to come back later. Due to the importance of this item, I canceled a private flight scheduled for 4:30 PM and extended my stay. I returned around 5:50 PM and waited until 6:40 PM, but my sunglasses were still not returned. While a female manager acknowledged my concerns, and another male supervisor was sincerely helpful, the sunglasses were still missing. Out of urgency and hope, I increased the reward from $1,000 to $10,000 in gift card value. Today, I have called your facility over 250 times between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM, with no answer. This prolonged silence and lack of follow-up have added to my frustration and sadness. I do not wish to accuse any staff member of wrongdoing. I know how hard your team works. But the possibility that such a personally meaningful item may have been recovered but not returned deeply saddens me. I respectfully request that you conduct a thorough internal review of this matter. I am still hopeful--however faint that hope may be--that this item might be returned. Last Wednesday my friend and I visited Calibunga in San Jose for the first time! I had never went when it was raging waters but had always meant to go. Admission was about $40 online, the parking was supposed to be $6 which compared to other theme/waterparks in the Bay Area is affordable. But when we arrived there was no one at the booth, us and several other cars didn't have to pay for parking which was nice! Once inside we bought a locker for $18 to put our stuff in, we did the smaller of the 2 sizes and it was big enough for us both to fit all we needed! Rides: We did the monkey bars above the water first and honestly it's harder then it looks! I think it's cool they allow both adults and kids to try that one. After that we did the blue water slide that was rated 4 for thrills and it was pretty intense, I even caught air at one point on it! I'd recommend wearing a secure swimsuit for this ride especially as well as the other slide we rode which had an inner tube and shoots you down into like a mini lazy River. Both were fun rides but I'm not a big slide person so once on each was enough for me! We also checked out the lazy River a number of times, they have some inner tubes available but you have to get lucky and grab one when you have a chance. I liked that we didn't have to buy an inner tube like you do at hurricane harbor in concord. However I really think they should have more tubes available because there's not enough for everyone so a lot of people walk/swim it. I think everyone should be able to get a tube and it be included in the admission. We also checked out the wave pool and the pirate themed play structure, both were great! The pirate play structure is a fun one to walk around in and even take pics at, also on the stairs to some slides offer a great backdrop for photos too! For lunch we decided to go to the food truck area, there was only one truck there. I got the chorizo torta and horchata from 3 Hermanos food truck. I think it was a bit overpriced at $20 for the torta and $10 for the horchata but the portions were very big and it was at a water park so not surprising the prices were high. The torta was pretty good, a little plain but I asked for salsa and that really added a nice touch. The horchata was tasty too! There is quite a few food places nearby though so next time I might do that instead. We went for ice cream at the East Ridge Mall right after our day at the water park to MoMaCaDo, which was only about a 5 min drive away. Overall this waterpark is very beautiful and seems well maintained, even when it was crowded it didn't feel overwhelmingly crowded how some water parks do. The setting is also so picturesque being right next to Lake Cunningham. They have quite a lot of seating which is great for people to find a spot to relax or eat some lunch, I do wish there was a little bit more shade though for the seats. It felt very clean for a water park and the water was clear and not cloudy. The bathrooms/changing rooms also were pretty clean too just a lil bit dated. The gift shop had some cute stuff too, i got an adorable Mini Stanley like shot glass and hat. We stayed there for almost the whole day! Loved our time here, I'll definitely be back next summer! They also offer a season pass upgrade in the park from your daily ticket or online they are not expensive either. Might have to get a season pass next summer! read more

I drive from Tracy ca , with my family and when got there it was nice in tell we found out that. 4 of the roads were not operating correctly for today the blue slide next to the pirate ship the snakes were down and the two blue slides next to the lazy not was the wave pool and we came all the way Tracy to go to Cali Bunga just ride half of them were broken. then it was and we ordered a meal a cheeseburger. It was OK. It was still red. Then we ordered chicken tenders. They were burnt then we ordered french fries and they were soggy and then we didn't know that the burgers came with fries. We didn't know tenders came with fries so ordered another box of fries and the shack. The people who cooked they didn't tell us that they came with fries. Also, they didn't even give us our other soda that we ordered. That's supposed to be a meal. but at the end of the day, there was some nice lifeguards there doing their and they were pretty cool and we did enjoy meeting some nice people, but you when you live really far from one city to another and you're going you sure that your team knows what is going on for the day. So my family and I drove from Tracy California all the way to the east side of San Jose to go to Cali Bunga after the remodel we haven't been there in years. When we got into the park, we set our stuff down and we went on some rides, but then at the end of the day we found out within an hour or two that a lot of the ride for working the wave pool wasn't working the blue slide doesn't work by the lazy river the other blue side by the pirate playground that one was broken and the snakes was broken. We haven't been there in years so when we went, we thought it would all be working and having a good time.. So then during lunch, we went and got food. The shack people didn't tell us that it was a meal so we didn't get our soda. We didn't get our other soda and they didn't tell us. The fries came with the meal because you know we haven't been there for so long the girl just told us. Oh yeah you just get a burger and you get chicken tenders. The burger was red and Pink the meat. The chicken tenders were burnt and then after that we got extra fries because no one told us that it was a meal, but. At the end of the day we had to drive to Safeway pick up some food and come back to the park because we were hungry. I wasn't gonna starve my daughter and buy more food there so after that we came back got food and we went back on rides went on the lazy river. A lot of the slides were closed and the kiddie pool looked to be in distress. The employees are teenagers/ early 20's who didn't have answers to our questions. You still have to pay the $6 if you're disabled despite it saying that it was four dollars cheaper on the website and nobody could explain to me why I couldn't get my military discount. So disappointed!! We spent almost $300 to get into a park that was not running at 100%. No where on their website or anywhere else did they announce that the park was doing a "soft opening" until after we entered the actual park. Soft opening meant that not all of the attractions were open and those that were only had one side of the double tubes running which meant long lines. There were only two of the larger water rides open, all the rest were meant specifically for little ones. No line control was taking place at ride entrances. Twice we experienced getting in a line only to have one single individual call out for their friends/family members to come join them when they got closer to the top of the ride. In one instance a group of 12 people walked past us and all joined one single individual that was "saving their place". The second time a group of 6 people did this. Upon entering the park there were no bag checks, which to me if you are going to enforce this, why not start at day 1 to train your employees? We rented a cabana that we had to kick individuals out because no one was monitoring its use. The lockbox that is provided was not working properly so our phones and money was all locked away for well over an hour while we tried to chase down someone to help us. We approached five different individuals to tell them the key pad was not working, three came over, touched the button "oh, it's not working" and walked away. Asked for a supervisor, they came over, touched the keypad, "it's not working" and walked away because they had to find someone with a key. We were locked out of the box for over an hour and had to sit and wait for someone to finally come over to open the box with a key. Since everything was locked away and the park is cashless, we couldn't get food or beverages for our kids because our phones and wallets were locked away. After an hour someone finally came by, got the door open, saw that the batteries were falling out of the unit because there was no backing and instead of fixing that issue, just told us to be careful when we close it because if we slam it the batteries might fall out again!! All in all, we spent two hours standing in long lines for only two big attractions, an hour trying to get our lockbox for a total of 3 hours of wasted time and money. To start off, I've been coming to this water park since I was a kid, over 10+ years, so I am somewhat biased. Though I haven't been to it in years until last week for the new opening under the new name. Going into it, I know that bringing water shoes is basically a must for water parks in general. As the ground can get hot and the cement at raging waters prior used to be VERY grainy, it seems they've fixed that now. Though I still recommend wearing water shoes. (I got mine from Amazon for $6) There's a lot more shade and seating areas around the park (the one in front of the wave pool looks like the nicest one) I saw a lot of reviews talking about how not a lot of stuff was open such as slides, waves for the wave pool etc. I knew this going in and had low expectations. (It's a soft opening after all) I just wanted to take my niece and nephew on a fun water park day and that's exactly how it turned out to be! There was little wait time (we went on a weekday) for slides and rides and even though the wave pool wasn't working it's still a big pool to enjoy. We also got a locker for our items such as phones and wallets since I'm usually very cautious about leaving my valuables unattended. There was someone to help us order a locker for the day and she was actually very nice and helpful! She even gave us a discount which we really appreciated. As for food and drinks, we brought our own lunches which we couldn't bring inside obviously, and when we asked an attendant if we could come back inside the park after eating in the parking lot, they said 'I don't think so' so we basically had to buy snacks for the meantime until we decided to leave the park for the day. The food does look ridiculously overpriced, I think I saw a burger for $18? Needless to say, but maybe eat before coming! The tickets were also pretty pricey, but as a special occasion I thought it was fine. Other than that, the park was overall an enjoyable experience and my niece and nephew had a fun time so that's all that matters to me! Nice time at Raging Waters 2.0. I'm quite shocked at all the scathing reviews. Yes, it's very much the same but the added turf and additional shade makes a major difference (less dirt and mud!). No need to bring your own chair there is a ton of seating options. It's very well-staffed and the lifeguards seem very attentive. All but one slide is open and no waves in the wave pool - not a big deal. There's also a Mexican food truck that looks pretty decent if you want skip "theme park food." Also, with regards to the ride range... it's perfect for folks of all ages ... there's a lot to do for the little ones who aren't ready for the slides and plenty of fun to be had for slide-goers. We have been visiting at this facility (under San Jose Raging waters park management) from the past 5 years with every year taking Season pass except last year as Raging waters announced closing and we were not aware of Calibunga taking over also we ended up buying seasonal pass of Fremont Aqua adventure last year. This year we took the season pass for all our family members as we used to buy this every year for Raging waters. Our first visit of Calibunga was absolutely horrible, here are all the problems in the order of criticality or priority. We were surprised to see so few people today as compared to all our past visits to Raging waters. We easily found the parking, but after visiting we realized why they do not have enough customers. 1) Raging waters used to keep water heated, which is very important for kids. Calibunga is just looking to keep the price high and their operational cost super low. They are not keeping the heated water anywhere (This is the biggest reason why we wont be buying the seasonal passes or visiting Calibunga starting next year). There were infants in the park and they were shivering in the water, which was not the case with Raging waters as they had heated water almost everywhere. 2) Raging waters membership was cheaper (~$60), we bought Calibunga membership for around $99 each, however they are not even running all the slides and closed most of the slides when we visited today. 3) The Calibunga staff doesn't care about the visitors, on asking about heated water, they literally lied about heated water was never there even in Raging waters and some staff did not even bother to take our feedback. 4) Calibunga seasonal passes does not have any clause for refunds. After visiting first time this weekend, I started feeling that this was not worth it and asked about the refunds, and they mentioned its a final sale, there is no refund. To be honest, we can definitely compromise on low options for slides and high prices, but the heated water is a deal breaker for us and we are not planning to visit this place again. read more

Deceptive website height limits to attract advance purchase tickets. Every waterpark has the duty and right to dictate height limits for safety. What's unfair and unethical is advertising a variety of slides for 36-42" guests that don't actually accommodate people under 44" in practice to facilitate more website ticket purchases in advance from guests who might have otherwise opted for Great America. 4 of the slides were advertised on the website for 36" and above but only offered inner tubes that could safely hold adult guests, we got denied at boarding. One two person ride was advertised for guests 42" and above with a height marker at the ride without any numerical inch markers that grossly overshot the height our pediatrician, measuring tape at home, and another water park's 42" minimum. Our child who was just over 42" at literally every other objective measure could only get on one slide due to the fact the slides in the kid zones were all closed. Despite knowing that many dudes would not be operational, we went in believing our child could go on many more functioning slides than they actually could. The park managed to scam 2 adult tickets and one child ticket out of our family that would have been better spent at Great America. Deceptive advertising as a money grab to fund renovations is a pretty cruel to thing to do to your prime demographic. Calibunga should accurately reflect height limits on the website. read more

We came and were very disappointed in our purchase of a year pass for all 4 of us; 1. No discount for vets or seniors (although we were told there would be at the gate) 2. Over sold cabanas so we had to put up with a picnic table away from attractions 3. Food was terrible. Ran out of products and when my wife asked to not have condiments on a burger she was told they MUST put them on every burger! Allergy law suit anyone? 4. Staff not trained to answer simple questions and we got different answers to the same query to a few staff members. 5. Many, many slides not working 6. BATHROOMS are awful! No privacy even in stalls and zero privacy in changing room by wave pool and almost zero in changing room by the front store. 6. Zero indoor showers available! We are requesting someone either fix and address all issues or immediate refund and post exactly how the park is online and not how you WANT people to view it. I wish the burger we got was cooked also asked the cashier and cook for food allergy since my daughter is allergic to treenuts and dairy but they ddnt know what ingredients they had for chicken tenders. Had to go to guest service waited for 10-15 mins since the lady kept going back and forth to the bathroom to fix her hair and put on some make up and all i got was "im sorry i dont know what they have on any food we serve" i asked for the manager so i could get a better answer but she said i had to ask other worker because she's going on her lunch... Staff needs a better/proper training and more knowledge about food they serve for customers! Bathrooms are horrible! So many spiders and cockroaches Shower arent working, i asked the staff if they could help me or show me how to turn on the shower but 3 of them said "i dont know how" now i regret getting the longboard season pass!! read more

Formerly Raging Waters. Now it is Calibunga. I appreciate how they are keeping this long time San Jose attraction alive. It's a great place to go during the summer to have fun in the sun. read more

After being there on Saturday both my 4 year old and my 7 month old ended up in the hospital with a viral bacterial infection from the water. Please parents be careful with your babies this place is a cesspool for bacteria. The service was poor..and no one seems to care that children are getting sick. read more
