Have been coming to Cali Fish grill ( handful of SoCal locations ) for over 12 years. This was one of my worst experiences. Loved this chain for their generous portions and tasty fish. What I received for $17 today was beyond a joke. A dry, small, credit card thin piece of fish, with few sad sides. Even the guy working the service saw that and brought me an extra piece of salmon, which wasn't a big help. Glad I ordered the $5 shrimp skewer on top of my meal. Left the restaurant as hungry as I arrived. I remember two juicy slabs of salmon on a big bed of rice for about $11-$12. This will influence my future visits big time. Very disappointed read more

I had a very upsetting experience with one of the staff members named Cici. While I was in the restroom with my child, she appeared to be using drugs in front of us. When I confronted her and asked what she was doing, she responded with a very rude attitude and tried to excuse her behavior by saying she was on her break. I tried to contact one of the managers, but unfortunately he was also on his break. I also attempted to call the establishment, but no one answered the phone. In my opinion, this is completely inappropriate behavior, especially in a place where families and children are present. I have been a loyal customer here for a long time, and I have never experienced anything this disturbing before. The first thing I noticed walking in was how clean everything was. Ordering is done through a screen, but I never felt unwelcome. Staff greeted me right away and checked in to make sure I knew how to navigate the ordering process, which was a really nice touch. I got the Mediterranean chicken salad with an extra shrimp skewer and they did not hold back on the shrimp! The mix of kale and romaine was so good, and the dressing paired perfectly with the chicken and shrimp. I also added the garlic sauce and it honestly took the whole salad to another level. I was completely full by the end of it. My husband got the jumbo shrimp plate with a side of fries and gave it a solid 10 out of 10. Our son had the kids mac and cheese, which is more of a Kraft style, but he loved every bite. We also shared a side of cheesy bread and that was a great call too. They also have a solid lineup of high protein options, which caught my eye before I landed on the salad. Finally got a chance to try this place out. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. I really like the customizable option they offer on their menu. The staff was friendly, fast and professional. Interior and restrooms are clean. The ambience is casual but many people were also dressed business casual due to sharing a parking lot with a hotel. Parking is a little difficult. Since they share a parking lot with several other businesses and a hotel, it can be dicey at best. Still worth a visit. Definitely going back soon read more

I ordered the salmon and swai with brown rice and Brussels sprouts for a up charge. The swai was delightfully delicious. It is a thick, yet light and a little flaky fish with a cream sauce on top. The salmon was a tiny piece of fish in comparison to the other fish and it was a bit on the dry side. The brown rice was fluffy and nicely seasoned. Oh my, the brussel sprouts were very flavorful and delicious. The Brussels sprouts were good as always. I forgot to ask for light cheese. They had a guy that was helping people place orders and I noticed he was pressing buttons on the screen that I did not ask him to press. I kindly asked him to step back so I could place my order myself. Unfortunately, my husband did not stop the guy on his order and he ended up with things he didn't want. Updated review: we had still been coming, but deducted a star for removing a favorite for no reason, and another one for giving you half the fish in your tacos. I can no longer recommend this place. We still come in, but we've noticed some changes. My +1's go to was the ahi poke bowl, which was completely eliminated from their menu. You can still order ahi with chips as a starter, so why not still offer it as a bowl? We had to shift to the fish tacos, which are still good, though they've noticeably suffered from "shrinkflation" - the price went up and they give you half the fish. They used to have two large fillets per taco, but I noticed they've started only coming with one. Still, portions aside it's hard to go wrong with the battered ones, though the cajun ones have a good black pepper kick. I've tried a couple of their salmon bowls, which are pretty good, but I still ordered an extra fish taco on the side. They've updated the kids menu with fish and chips, Mac and cheese, teriyaki chicken, and chicken tenders. Of course, they range from $6-8 which is exorbitant but not unexpected. We're pretty disappointed by the changes and they've probably lost our business. read more

We have these restaurants in Arizona, so I have tried their food before. California Fish Grill is a counter-service eatery that serves affordable-yet-sustainable seafood. This chain started out in the late 90's in California and offers a variety of seafood options on their menu. You can choose from one of their grilled plates with side choices, salads, sandwiches or a bowl. Here at California Fish Grill, the customer places their order on the computer screen and then they call you when your food is ready. It is a pretty simple concept. I was a little frustrated that they added an automatic tip to my order and I didn't notice until after I paid. So I had the manager refund me. I don't mind paying a tip for table service. But when I do all the work on the order screen and then have to walk to the counter to get my food, why am I paying for gratuity? Anyway, I got my refund and ate my food. I am a big shellfish lover and usually order something with shrimp. They have a number of shrimp options on their menu, so I ordered the Shrimp Skewers. I enjoyed my meal that included rice and sweet potato fries as my sides. If you are a seafood lover and on a budget, you can't beat the prices for fresh seafood here. Other than the tip fiasco, everything was good here. Also, we ordered the AVOCADO salad bowl as well as a chicken teriyaki bowl, both saying they have avocado included in the description as well as in the picture. This is one of the cleanest, freshest, and most friendly CFGs we have been to. Being next to Disney they were packed and people's kids were leaving rice and crumbs and just a mess. Aliyah was bustin her butt cleaning sweeping and helping people ... all with a smile. And Geo and Nate were super busy getting food out but that did not stop them from helping answer people's questions and keeping the area clean. I was asking for a manger to tell them but they said the manger was out.
