This time, we were missing two tacos, and one of the tacos we did get was literally just a plain tortilla with no meat. For the delivery prices they charge, basic order checks shouldn't be optional. They offer 4-5 salsas in the restaurant, yet our $140 order showed up with only two. And this isn't new -- last time, our $10 ribeye taco was missing too. My husband has been wanting to try this Tacos Los Cholos rip off since they opened. I was hoping it would be as good, but it was not. He was out and about and asked me to order online, he would pick it up and bring it home. You can't order directly through their site (like you can with Cholos) and all the 3rd party apps they use don't even offer their full menu. Lots of missing proteins and options, like quesadillas, burrito bowls, the pizza, etc... I stuck with three tacos and we got an order of chips and salsa to share. The arrachera is my favorite at Cholos, but the one served here is not nearly as flavorful. Filet was fine, but under-seasoned. Pollo was good, although I got one big piece that was hard and gristly, which I hate. The limes were browning and not very juicy, and the radishes were super dry and seemed like they were cut days ago. Salsas were good, enjoyed them a lot, and definitely needed them to add some flavor. I will say the guacamole was outstanding, although the chips were super thick and hard, I ended up using tortilla chips I already had on hand and threw away the bag we got from them. The papa loka is my favorite thing here. I order it every time I come. It's loaded with meat, cheese, and butter. I like to add guacamole on top for an extra cost. We were in the area for a work meeting and a search took us to Primecut Taqueria. We were lucky and found street parking close to the restaurant. As we walked towards the front door, we immediately were drawn to the smoky grilled mesquite aroma. The inside feels a little cramped because there were already a few people in line and it was backing up to the salsa bar area. We ordered at the front counter and the menu is pretty simple. Note that there are different prices for the types of meats. I ordered three tacos, with Carne Asada, pork belly, and I think tripas. They come with just tortillas and meat and you can add your own onions and cilantro and any other condiments from the self serve salsa bar. There's a rainbow of colors of different sauces and spice levels. I was glad they also had radish and cucumbers slices, which I love to help cut down the oily grease. I enjoyed the smoky grilled taste of the meats. The pork belly was a little too hard and dry for me though and I won't get that again. My coworkers each ordered the nachos with Carne Asada and Pollo. The whole experience was unpleasant. When we arrived, there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant. We began by ordering several of their prime meat cuts. However after waiting over thirty minutes, the waitress tells us that they are all out of all the prime cuts. Due to the price, they can only replace it with fish which we don't like, but we agreed to. 45 minutes after arriving, we finally got our food and it was just ok. Nothing special, just tacos. Stopped by on a dog walk and was excited to see this place open. I ordered three tacos, fish, rib meat and pork belly. Ate the fish taco first and it was the best. I would not order the other two tacos again. Here you order at the counter and receive a table number for food delivery. The indoor seating is limited but the chairs are very comfortable. Parking is limited on the street but the parking structure has free two hour parking on the ramp leading up to the second floor. I always love a place with a good salsa bar. Their green salsa was really good and the habanero was super spicy! There's a range for everyone. Today I tried the asada burrito bowl. It comes with beans, rice, cheese and onions. The meat was a little chewy for my liking. I thought it had a little too much fat. But that is my personal preference. Decided to stop into Primecut Taqueria with our family randomnly walking through downtown Anaheim. So glad we did because this place seriously surprised us in the best way We ordered two premium tacos with arrachera, costilla, and pork belly, plus a cheese quesadilla for our daughter. The arrachera is their most popular meat and now I understand why. It was super flavorful and tender. Next time we are definitely getting all three tacos with arrachera. The pork belly taco was also really good and rich, but the costilla was my least favorite. The first one I received looked mostly like burnt ends, but they fixed it right away without hesitation and brought me a new one with much more meat. Really appreciated that level of service. And the cheese quesadilla totally caught us off guard. Taco Tuesday is a great deal I went for lunch and the food was fresh, meat was nice and juicy. It's nice that the aguas are $3.50 as well. When I was rung up I was charged full price so I had to go ask for an adjustment. TL; DR -- worth a try! We will be back This is the newest taco spot on Center Street in Downtown Anaheim, located on the corner that previously housed another taco location. The grill outside is nice touch... fills the air with that char smoky meat smell that makes you hungry once you get a whiff of it. Came here during the soft opening, literally the second day ever. Clean, bright restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. You choose what type of dish you want (ie burrito, taco, bowl, etc) and then you choose your meat. There's a tiered system where the more primecut, the higher in price. We tried the tacos - adobada, asada (both lower price point) pork belly, and arrachera (both medium price point). Adobada was flavorful and tender; the arrachera was smoky, charred in the best way. Pork belly was chewy and we were surprised to find that the asada was replaced with chicken lol. We were home before we found this out and decided it was fine since they were the same price. The chicken was so tender. Their tortillas were tasty, soft, and not dry at all. Their salsa bar is decently sized. They were all delicious. I particularly liked the verde and the bright green salsa. My husband liked the orange special sauce. Note that onions and cilantro are at the salsa bar; they don't come automatically on your taco. Service was friendly and while I was there one of the employees was tidying up the salsa bar. We will definitely be back. Very happy that we have another taco spot to visit. Can't wait to update this review once they've had their grand opening. read more

By the time they arrived my friend had finished their tacos. And the cheese on my nachos wasn't melted through. Flavor wise. The meat was good. Albeit we both agreed it lacked seasoning. As far as the mishap. No apology from anyone. Chalked it up to opening night jitters Stopped by today for lunch. Got two aracherra tacos and two costilla tacos. (To go). Total was about $20. Strangely almost the same as my nachos a couple nights before. I'd say the tacos might be a better value if you're just going by the amount of protein The tacos today were good, and the portion generous. For a lunch option near my office, it was such a better option than the sandwich place was next door. And almost the exact same price. (Previous review) Again, the meat was under seasoned. I'd say that the upgrade from asada to premium cuts of aracherra and costilla weren't worth it, tho. The aracherra was cooked well done. So really not much difference than asada. Since the ribs were also cooked very well done, there wasn't much richness left.. instead u just got bits of gristle. All the salsas I tried were great. The comparison to el cholo is fair, and honestly to skip the line I'd probably come here. I made the mistake of going at peak after work hours/dinner time on Cinco De Mayo, something I will not do again. They offer a variety of standard to premium cuts of meats. The hubby tried 3 of the premium cuts, Arrachera, Costillas, and Tripas. He said they had good flavor and worth it for the deal 3/$10.50. I shared a trio of cheese panela tacos 3/$7.50 and will say I'm not a fan of the texture. I enjoyed the variety of sauces and condiments available at the salsa bar; however, it was very popular in a tight spot between two entry points. I waited about 20 min in line to order shortly after 6 pm on a Tuesday, and another 20 minutes for my to-go order. It was a full house with only bar seating available. Came to pick up some food a few weeks ago and I thought it was really good. Had a couple different tacos and a burrito. I loved that the salsa bar is available for you to just grab and go. Ordered again tonight and honestly I was pretty disappointed. I got the loaded papa and it was just cheese and the meat. I've been to other taquerias and they put things like sour cream or guacamole on them. And we got the surf and turf burrito. The surf was a total of 4 tiny shrimp that looked like frozen shrimp and the meat was not good quality meat. For the price of the burrito, you'd think you would get good meat. I tried this place as I live 1 block away from the Anaheim location after learning that their tacos are similar to Tacos Los Cholos, a favorite of mine. Unfortunately, was disappointed. I tried the Pricier tier and got the Beef Rib tacos as that is my favorite at Tacos Los Cholos. The problem was the meat was not cooked recently. I could tell that the meat I got was cooked probably the day before then just reheated for my tacos. The meat was dry inside and out. Dry and rather stiff. The flavor was not good. Prices were high and I don't mind paying high prices for quality meat, it's worth it. But I spent more and I expected better and well received yesterday's reheated leftovers. I'm sure that these good reviews here are the lucky customers that receive recently cooked meats. I did have lower tier meats Chicken and carne asada and those tacos were good. I walk past this location often since I live here and I noticed that traffic has gone down quite a bit since they first opened. I think people are starting to notice that the premium tier meat tacos are unreliable. I may still come here for the lower tier meats as they are walking distance for me but if I will stick to Tacos Los Cholos for the Premium meat tacos. I suggest you do the same. You can really taste the quality and the difference between the different types vs typical asada at other places where it may be tough, chewy, and full of gristle. Their adobada seasoning is excellent and includes chunks of pineapple. Their beef rib costilla has nice crispy fatty pieces that are rich and flavorful. The asada quesadilla is absolutely loaded with meat! Also, the salsa bar is great as well with a variety of salsas. They are a touch on the spicier side but welcome on the tacos. They have your typical red and green and then a couple others. I believe one is a chipotle crema style salsa and then an habanero as well. I can't say enough good things about this place. They also have a taco Tuesday special! The one thing is it gets busy and the get swamped with orders and it can take a while. Tacos are supposed to be fast food! Food is good. I get the nachos and torta every time. Quality of food is a hit and miss depending on who's cooking. Sometimes my nachos are bomb af - melted cheese, beans meat and everything spread over the nachos other times it was all in one spot in the middle and barely any chips.
