Second time trying pupusas, the first time I tried pupusas I wasn't sold but after trying them here I get it. Crispy and flavorful the pupusas were so good! I tried the revuelta (pork, cheese, and beans) and highly recommend it. The chicken tamale was also really good with generous chunks of chicken, some potatoes and good masa. Vibe was very cozy and felt like a true mom and pop spot. Customer service was also great the ladies were vey sweet. Price point was good, definitely worth stopping by! read more

i was craving pupusas and got so excited as we drove by and i saw a señora in the back cooking. yall....... i wanted to like this place soooo bad. i got 3 chicharrón pupusas, my favorite, and a large horchata. the horchata was good but i found the pupusas to be so bland :/ i had to heavily season them once we got home. the curtido was nice and tart but i wish it had a little bit more spice to it. the sauce wasn't spicy at all either. i was pretty disappointed. the service was very friendly though. it's on a main street with neighborhood parking only. read more

I had to give this place props! One of the reasons I avoid Salvadorean restaurants is because I feel that customer service lacks!!!! So when my parents and I decided to get food I made sure I checked for "customer service". This place is a little hole in the wall nothing fancy but clean so don't get your chonies in a bunch if you walk into a mom and pop shop. Parking: We found street parking right away. I am not sure if they have their own parking lot. Food: 5/5 Their food was really tasty and not greasy at all. We all decided that their food was great! I had the standard breakfast and it was delicious. It had eggs and veggies, refried beans and platanos, crema and queso with tortillas hechas a mano. YUMMMMMMM. Customer Service: EXCELLENT!! 6/5 They were slow in preparing but I would rather wait than have some nasty ass greasy food. They were so sweet best customer service I have ever had at a Salvi restaurant!! Prices: Most of the plates were about 9 to 12 dollars unless you ordered the molcajete. which was about 20 something. Worth the wait for super fresh, hot pupusas! Like others mentioned, this is not fast food. You're going to have to wait for them to be freshly made! This is WORTH IT. So delicious, a must-try! The pupusa itself is a perfect ratio of meat, cheese, and masa - Making it not dry at all. Also the price doesn't hurt at all. On Mondays and Wednesdays, they are $1.50 and on normal days they're $2. Not bad at all, especially when you're looking for a cheap snack. The staff is so nice and friendly. That in itself was good enough for me to come back! I'm sure every single variety of the their pupusas are delicious so I'll be back to try more of them. I'm not too familiar with the rest of their offerings, but I'm more than willing to try other things on the menu! craving some pupusa so headed to this place. located in some storefront with rows of buildings. only street parking. outside and inside has one of those old school authentic south american place vibe with checkered plastic table overs and old wooden chairs etc. so you know its going to be good. haha. few tables and open kitchen. large menu with bunch of authentic dishes but ordered what i came for. pupusa with bean, cojita cheese, and pork and pupusa with cheese and loroco. total damage $5. they cook to order and you can see the lady hand shape the dough and filled it and grill it. seeing that pupusa get all hot and crisp with cheese oozing out. man knew it will be good. waiited 15mins and got tbe food. and the verdict....really good. like mentioned outside was hot and crisp, filling also hot and favorful and generous portion. add some included tomato puree salsa and vinergry cabbage slaw to balance the savory cheesy pupusa on top and you get a perfiect bite. like some mini pupusa pizza. mightt tasty. and fhe fact they only cost $2.5 a piece. awesome value. for sure if i ordered at some yuppie place on west hollywood they would charge $20. so check this place out. recommended. read more

Let me just say, our hearts and belly are happy to say that it was a great happenstance! Delicious homestyle food like your abuela made it. I don't have a Salvadorean grandma but it tasted authentic to us! lol! Their pupusas were so good that my kids had 2 each! Usually my daughter can only finish one but she actually scarfed 2 revueltas down without any problem. My husband ordered their caldo de res and I had their beef stew plate (I forgot the name). Whatever you order, you cannot go wrong! According to our kids, the food was deliciously amazing!! *chef's kiss* and she said, compliments to the chef. My son said, "do not judge the place by the looks because their food and the people were awesome!" The staff were hospitable and friendly; they welcomed us like family. It appears that this is a local favorite because it seemed like the staff knew everyone that came in. They serve a full menu from breakfast to dinner. Be forewarned, be very patient because they actually cooked everything from scratch, so it takes a bit of time before you get your food. My son and daughter give this place 4 thumbs up! This corner restaurant which can be easily overlooked as a great spot to eat could use a make-over of its drab environment. But make no mistake, the food taste is impressive. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I ordered the CHILAQUILES with red sauce (salsa roja). It came with a black bean purée that had a solid heavy but subtle flavor. It was a great base to eat with rice. The main dish was such a nice medley of flavors, none over powering. Chilaquiles can many times be made with such potent flavors that it's difficult to taste anything else. This was not that way and was the perfect dish to enjoy this morning watching people mill about on the sidewalks around the neighborhood. I also ordered the HORCHATA which was fresh and not overly sweetened like some restaurants do. We also ordered the PUPUSAS with cheese only. The cook didn't skimp on the cheese and the ratio of masa to cheese was just right and made fresh to order. I was extremely impressed by this spot and disappointed I hadn't tried this location sooner. I can't wait to go back and try a few more items. read more
