Great food truck that I often see at Bare Bottle Brewery. This time my wife & shared veggie tacos. We wanted a small snack and they order was very generous. We each had 1 taco stuffed with cabbage, black beans, corn, and more. It came with a tasty green salsa, but I asked for extra red hot sauce and they gave me two. OMG! The el fuego tacos are hella bomb! It comes with everything and I can't imagine of getting tacos any other way. I had their carne asada. The salsas were fire too. The meat was cold when we finally got to eat, but I'm not sure if it was served like that or because we were walking in the cold back to the office across the street. I came here after seeing them at the Oakland Museum's Off the Grid Event and the taco's were spot on. Gluten free, naturally, and good tasting. I had a fish taco and two others. I have to say that the people working there were very nice. I had a question about what they were selling, I forget what it was, but when the food came, I was very, very happy and it was very, very good. I would love to come here again when I see them. Came across this truck as I was leaving the Walt Disney Musuem and thought, well I am hungry for lunch and the Presidio Food trucks are right in front of me. So I decided to try the longest line which was this El Fuego truck. They had interesting menu. It was hard to decide what to get because it all sounded yummy. I decided to order the two Crispy Quesabrilla with consume sauce. I brought it home and ate it. It was good, wasn't as crispy as I thought it was, but it was still good. I've had this happen before. I roll into a well reviewed Mexican food spot and it was a dud. I feel bad, the owner seems responsive and kind, but the food was just not good. First off the price: ouch. 3 quesabirra tacos for $18? Super burrito for $16? I ended dropping almost a $90 here for 4 people. That's wild work for a food truck serving Mexican food at the Presidio. The quesabirra was bland and had stray pieces of fat in it, which is not particularly appetizing to my family. They did have plenty of meat though, but for $6 per, they should be. The consume was decent, or as the people next to us with an 800 credit score said: "Oh, it's like a French dip". My super burrito was ok. I was very surprised to find (on the menu) that it didn't have rice. I don't think I've ever had someone claim to be supplying a super burrito that didn't have rice. I chose asada as my meat. The choices were pretty limited. Only birria, pollo, and asada. No carnitas, which is my usual go to. I tried salsa on my burrito. The salsa roja was spicy, but flavorless. I tried the salsa with a chip too (the chip btw is like a movie theater tortilla chip), just to confirm. Still bland. Didn't bother with the salsa verde. In the end, I get it bro. Cater to your consumer. Who's the consumer? Well, if you open your seasoning cabinet at home and it has less than 5 seasonings (including the salt and pepper) this is probably your jam. Stopped by the Disney Family Museum today and the El Fuego truck was outside. My husband and I both got burritos and my husband has not stopped talking about it. They were fabulous. Service was great and food came out fast. It was a great surprise and we will definitely be looking for them next weekend. My husband will probably buy extras to take home. Let me lay out my street cred before I rave about this place: 1. I've had some authentic birria made for me many times from my Mexican best friend before, so I know a good one when I see one!!! 2. Born & raised in LA, 'nuff said. The birria is REALLY GOOD, especially given that we are in the Bay Area. The best I've had in SF. The meat was tender and juicy, and the consomé was perfect for that cold weather we're in. We got the combo and for that price of $15 and something cents, to be so full of good food, was 10/10. I've eaten a variety of quesabirria tacos and I really enjoyed El Fuego's version. I put a beach towel down to protect the back seat of my car and ate the tacos there. I wanted to eat the tacos right away since they were served nice and crispy. The salsas and lime wedges are a must. The consommé is an absolute must. I went to the Outer Sunset Farmer's Market & Mercantile looking for a smash burger but Maillards sold out by 12:20pm due to their recent article on Sfgate. I had to get something else and saw El Fuego for the first time at this Sunday farmer's market on 37th Ave. (Great farmer's market and definitely worth checking out btw.) Tacos was full of cheese and juicy goodness. I was so hungry I ate two tacos before realizing there were lime and some salsa to cut the richness of the tacos. Anyways, I want to talk about their consommé which was out of this world. I had consommé with birria tacos before and they were always flavorful. However, El Fuego's was heavenly. You ever had hot pot broth at the end of a meal after cooking all the food in it? El Fuego's consommé is like that but more of a rich beefy broth with nuance of onions, tomatoes and other flavors. There's also free chips and salsa that they'll give you in a bag. The only reason I'm taking off a star is because my food was completely cold when I got it. Saw an IG advertisement for this place, and today was the day to indulge. I wasn't sure what to expect other than lots of flavor and spice, and that was exactly what I got. Everything went right with this meal, and I'm appreciative of that. The taco was GREAT. It was a soft taco but very filling and just enough. The quesabirria was just as good, if not better. Both items were comparable in size, which is perfect. The "icing on the cake" for me with the meal was the consome--just the ideal addition to complete the meal. This place is truly a hidden gem - tucked away near the northwest corner of Jackson Park. Quite possibly the best Mexican we've had in SF. We got the Quesabirilla tacos (pictured) which are their specialty- comes with perfectly cooked beef filling, oozing cheese in between the two crispy shells, and a dipping sauce/consommé. The amazing taste it left in our mouths made us crave for more so we went back to try the Vampiro with Al Pastor - an open faced taco with guac and other toppings. BOMB BIRRIA ALERT!! This place is so good. As the name suggests, the food is literally fire. They have some of the tastiest quesabirrias I've had so far in San Fransisco. If I was on Death Row and had to pick my last meal, I think this might be it. We started off with four tacos for two people but they were so tasty that we had to immediately go back for another round. The steaming consommé just hit all of the right spots for a chilly day in Dogpatch. I highly, highly recommend! Especially if you are looking for something to warm you up. Although it is a food truck, the location on Yelp is updated to be accurate depending on the day of the week. You can navigate from Yelp and it should take you to exactly whatever neighborhood the food truck is bringing joy to that day. We contracted with El Fuego to come set up for our block party. They were so easy to work with and flexible with our timing, location and budget. The event menu had delicious options for meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegans, and all the neighbors had nothing but compliments for everything.
