My party I was with liked her too, but they weren't happy by what they saw walking through the restaurant to our table we were seated at. I did not get a chance to try out the food in Annapolis California Pizza Kitchen. I liked the set up to this restaurant and I had a good vibe for it, except the table and menu. Pretty nice looking after a recent remodel. Service has not been remodeled, not poor but doesn't match the decor. I just stopped in for the 1/2 size Waldorf Salad witch is just great. The amount of chicken sliced so very thin is disappointing but there is no lack of glazed nuts. I guess that the chicken is portioned for cost cutting and the nuts abundant for lack of portioning. I got the dressing on the side which I suggest, the salad is so good it does not need dressing. More attentive serve would earn another star. read more

One day I will try the pizza to see what the CPK is all about. Today was not that day. I ordered more than a few items to sample so don't judge me. I began with the chips/guacamole and avocado eggrolls. The guacamole was good and had a little kick to it. At $4 don't expect a very filling snack which leads into the avocado eggrolls. The eggrolls also contained chicken and some bacon and the bacon was a dominant flavor that was tasted. Both apps were good and satisfying. I ordered the Italian sandwhich that came with split pea soup. The soup was very surprising as I never tried split pea soup before and now I am wondering what have I been missing all these years. CPK you make me look back at some life decisions I have made. The Italian came on a ciabatta bun that was very soft and this was a pleasant surprise as many places seem to have very hard ciabatta bread for their sandwiches. I was craving the Tequila Lime Chicken pasta dish so I stopped at CPK for lunch. With Covid, I thought this would be a safe option since CPK has always had outdoor seating. To my surprise, the host advised that outdoor seating was not available for several more hours. However on my walk to the entrance, I noticed a table out on the patio with dishes that needed to be cleaned up. I bit the bullet and ate inside. My server, Alex(andria) was awesome. She made sure my iced tea was refreshed and checked on me periodically. I enjoyed the pasta along with a petite lettuce wedge. CPK's food is always consistent. I love the butter pecan cake but was disappointed to find out that this location no longer served this dessert. Alex suggested the butter cake instead and it was pretty tasty. read more

This place surprised me. How many spots can you go to at the local mall and decide that you actually like it enough as a sit down restaurant to go back? This spot was one of them. The sangria flight was on point (we couldn't decide on a favorite), the pizzas are tasty, and the random other stuff we've tried has been solid too. At this point we've been here three times and still keep going back to try various other pizzas on their menu. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the Westfield Annapolis Mall as it shines above many of the mediocre other sit downs here. It's not going to blow you away but it's worth the time and money for sure. Since it's in the mall it's usually brutally loud and with crazy wait times, but in all the main ways a restaurant matters it's doing the right things. read more

Came here on a busy Saturday afternoon. I gave my name to the hostess and she took my cell number so that I can receive a text message to alert me when my table was ready. The estimated wait time of 15 minutes was accurate. Yohanna was my waitress & she was pleasant and very accommodating. I opted for the mango lemonade which was refreshing. For an appetizer I enjoyed the avocado chicken egg rolls w/the two sauces. My entree was the tried and true jambalaya. Today it was off. It tasted different and the pasta was undercooked. This was not a problem as Yohanna graciously swapped it out for a cobb salad. Although the place was filled to the rafters, the service was spot on and it was an enjoyable experience. read more

Went to CPK in Annapolis mall today for the first time in a long time. First of all, we were seated in an empty section, given a menu with an 8 pt font and another page with a qr code, which we are very used to using in other establishments. Only issue was that I am Gluten Free and each item wasn't marked, you had to go back and forth to try to discern what was gf which was difficult online, so I had to use the tiny menu which was almost impossible to read even though it was midday, due to the lack of light in the restaurant. So it took us a bit of time to order, but once we did, it took over an hour for our food (a cauliflower crust pizza and a salad) to come out. Literally, people had come after us, finished, paid, and left! Our server came and apologized and said that our food would be right out. We waited for another 15 minutes. When I finally did get my pizza, it was cold ‍. I ate a few pieces. My husband ate his salad. We won't ever go back. First, I always think of CPK as a progressive restaurant, and yet their gf menu is extremely limited. Second, the menu situation is impossible. Third the service is just terrible. Love California pizza kitchen. They have an array of options for pizza lovers and others alike. I tend to order a salad and soup when I am there and personally love their fresh tea options. Be sure to check those out! The Cobb salad comes in a small or large portion and is very good. Sometimes it lacks sufficient dressing. Pizza options are great as well. Overall, very pleased with the menu options, cleanliness, and consistency of this chain. The wait staff is not always the most knowledgeable however. read more

Awful experience. Do not eat here. I went to the mall for a shopping day with my fiancé. After finishing our trip we headed to the California pizza kitchen location for a early lunch. We walked in, and were brought to the center of the restaurant across from the windows to a very small booth. I asked before we sat down to sit in a larger booth so my fiancé could sit beside me. I pointed to the booth at the window and said we'd rather have this one instead. She said she can not sit there. -Is it the way we were dressed or what because we giving no explanation?? So we were brought to the table directly behind the hostess stand. We were greeted within 5 minutes. I asked for a water and my fiancé asked for a margarita. She pulls her drivers license from her wallet and holds it in front on the server for roughly a minute while the server proceeds to have a conversation with the host. She finally looks at the DL and walks away to get drinks. Less than 5 minutes later after placing out order and yet to receive our drinks, the booth I requested to sit at was sat with an elderly gentleman and roughly a 5 year old. So after receiving short, poor service, I told the server I'll pay for my drink and we'll leave. She asked why and I explained all above. Again, I I'm not sure if I was dress inappropriately for the restaurant or what the cause for the poor seating and poor attitude from the staff. read more

I have to preface this by saying we visited on Christmas Eve and with about an hour left until closing. Still, it was a pretty great experience all things considered. We didn't have to wait at all for a table (beyond the fact that the place was pretty quiet). The hostess was still attentive and cordial. The server showed up pretty soon afterwards as well, and she was very attentive to us during our stay. Refills were rapid and there was no waiting for an empty glass for the suggestion. The appetizer was... okay. We ordered the Szechuan chicken dumplings, and I really didn't feel like they matched any of those words, save the chicken. There was no real 'Szechuan' flavor profile, and it was instead a sweet and sticky sauce that batched the plate. The onions were limp and stringy, and the noodles were overcooked. The pizza, on the other hand, was great. We had one with whole wheat crust (the garlic chicken) and one with regular (wild mushroom). Both were fantastic, with fresh and flavorful toppings. They came out piping hot as well. Overall, very much worth the visit. Maybe we'll just skip the appetizer next time. We could only get through half of each pizza anyway. The Annapolis location was very good! Great food and service. Minimal wait on a Saturday evening around 6 the day before Father's Day I got the garlic fettuccine with chicken and shrimp. I do justify the price somewhat because the food I had was fresh and good, but $18.79 for a 6 slice pizza with cauliflower crust still seemed a little high. The cauliflower crust was good and reminded me of thin crust pizza. I had the California club pizza and it was good, but I would have enjoyed more of the sauce (they called it a mayo blend) on it. For a pizza kitchen in the mall this place does great. It's vegetarian friendly and family friendly. We stopped in for lunch and got some wonderful sandwiches at decent prices. We were very pleased. I had a veggie sandwich that was grilled, it was delish, and it came with a side salad. Everything was good, served hot and fast. I even had to breast feed here and it wasn't a problem, neither was the bathroom for changing my little man - in fact this is one of the few places who stocks the pads in the changing tables... amazing! Actually me and my husband walked out after we ordered food and noticed how dirty this place was. After I went to use a restroom that was it.. lost my appetite.. didn't care we lost money but at least we didn't get sick. Not acceptable. Let me preface this review by saying that I am a huge California Pizza Kitchen fan. I love the location in Montgomery Mall (MD), but my dining experience in Annapolis Mall left me underwhelmed. When I went, they were running a special of one appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert for $32, which I thought was great. We ordered the lettuce wraps (my fav!) as an appetizer, the kung pao pasta and bolognese pasta as our entrees, and the red velvet cake for dessert. The appetizer and dessert were good, but the entrees left much to be desired. The bolognese pasta was especially bland and the sauce tasted like it was straight out of a can (not fresh). Maybe I'm expecting too much, but having had such good food at CPK in the past, I would be remiss to not say something. read more

My daughter and I eat here a lot. We LOVE their salads and pizzas and everyone who works there is always very kind. I ordered from CPK via Postmates today because...coronavirus. When our order arrived, my salad was missing the chicken. I called the restaurant to let them know what happened and spoke to Joe, the manager. Joe was very sorry about the missing chicken and, within 2 hours, brought me a replacement salad himself. Drove to our house...himself. Fell in here after dropping a small fortune at Nordstroms. I desired delicious red wine to sedate me after the financial set back from purchases in the mens clothing department. I also needed a stimulus package and I found it in the form of food and drink. Definite 3-4 rating. Very consistent chain throughout all of their locations. We had salad and wine last night. One Oriental Chicken Salad and the Moroccan Salad. The salads are big so you might go for the 1/2 size unless you are a rabbit. Their pizza and salads are just plan delicious and off the charts. Great creativity in their salads and pizza. They just introduced a Cheeseburger Pizza. I though that was funny and creative. Must try it next time. Nice wine list, with good variety of Australian and California selections. A couple selections are somewhat overpriced. The wait staff is very well trained so the service is usually excellent and it was last night. Went here for a lunch with friends and it was terrible. We weren't greeted for at least 10 minutes. We would have ordered drinks, but the server didn't even give us a drink menu or ask if we wanted anything other than water. I was interested in the full piadina half salad combo available any day and our server had no idea what I was talking about, I had to point it out on the menu. Our food came promptly and was frankly just not good. The piadina was dry and flavorless, there was no reason to keep the leftovers. As a pizza sandwich, it did not make me want to try their pizza. Everyone enjoyed their salads. We waited for a while after done eating for the server to come with the check, all of us wondering where she went in the meantime. They're food is good, but never get to go food. Never. On June 29, 2019, I called to get to go food and ordered a roasted veggie salad and shrimp scampi. They brought it out to curbside, and I tipped 15% for to go food. When I got home, the roasted veggie salad was, in fact, a bowl of lettuce. Nothing else. Just lettuce. No dressing, no veggies, nothing. It's normally a very large salad with 20 different ingredients. Obviously someone made a mistake (it happens) so I called in to get the charge reversed. No need to drive all the way back. That's where the trouble started. I called and the lady says well we can't just reverse the charge because you said it's just lettuce. I asked for a manager. Fifteen minutes on hold, I hung up and called back. My temperature is rising. (Oh see he photo attached). The second time I called back, again no manager, and the hostess gave me attitude (sorry no one can approve a reversal except he manager). Fine get the manager. Ten minutes on hold. I'd had enough. I called my credit card company and processed a fraud claim. Then I went back to California Pizza Kitchen and confronted the manager who gave me the ol' razzle dazzle of excuses (nonsense - I don't mind mistakes, but if it takes approval from the pope to reverse a simple to go charge, they have issues). We went with a pepperoni pizza which came out great as usual. So many great menu items at CPK as usual! The small plates menu...the seasonal summer menu...so hard to choose. Ended up deciding on the JAMBALAYA FETTUCCINE and MARGHERITA PIZZA WITH SAUSAGE. My coworker raves about their Margherita which was quite delectable with a perfectly crispy thin crust and the classic combo of cheesy, tomatoey, basil-y melted goodness. With the heartiness of the sausage it almost kept me from ordering off the small plates menu...almost. I did try the FRIED MACARONI BITES, which is nothing special. Save yourself the trouble, I will say it was nicely fried with the crunchy panko crust though. My hubbie's fettuccine was perfectly al dente. Be prepared! It it a huge plate. I like the jambalaya pasta even though I don't eat sausage or ham so I spend most of the time picking it out. A little nutty... Try not to judge. The pizza is pretty good. I particularly like the whole grain crust and even though I order a plain cheese pizza, it's still pretty good. I've tried the white pizza but I'm not a fan. As for desserts, I like the butter cake. My wife and I ate at CPK on a Sunday afternoon. We sat at the bar because it's fairly cramped and busy in the dining area. We were promptly greeted by "Dan the Man", who took our drink orders and gave us menus. The place was really busy. The servers, pizza maker, pizza baker, cooks, manager, etc., were moving like they're butts were on fire. Dan the Man came back and took our orders - I got a California Cobb salad and my wife got the chicken piccata. We received our food about 15 minutes after we ordered - not bad for a place that was so busy. My salad was just a little dry, but Dan the Man was on top of it and got me a little more dressing pronto. My wife loved her meal and there was plenty of it. The salad tasted very fresh and I ate every bite. They don't seem to have a problem with special requests either. The lady who sat down next to me was asking for them to do something out of the ordinary, and it was not a problem for them. CPK is a little expensive, but you forget about the cost after eating the delicious food and experiencing the outstanding customer service. Way to go CPK! Dan really is "The Man!" read more

When my party and I sat down to order it we were told by that waiter that he had to confirm that it was still going on. He checked with the manager and was told no and that even though it was advertised they wouldn't honor it. If it's not offered anymore why was it still advertised???? I enjoy the variety and how the options differ from the classic pepperoni or veggie pizza from a typical fast food pizzeria. This time I went I ordered a power bowl. The dish as a whole was tasteless. The sauce was served on the side so you could choose how much to add but the amount of sauce was not proportional to the amount of quinoa and salad in the bowl. I found myself adding a considerable amount of salt and pepper to the dish. The prices are a little high for the amount of and quality of food. I think if they are to keep the prices constant, they need to re-evaluate the flavor of their dishes. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at a CPK but wouldn't be upset to eat here. read more
