We usually love CPK, so this is difficult to write this 1-star review, but write it I must. The main problem we had at this Brea location was the poor service (never actually received our meal, so I can't comment much on the food). We should've learned our lesson from a previous visit, in which the manager profusely apologized for poor service and gave us coupons for free entrees on a future visit. Since there were many months in between these two visits, we still had hopes for a decent experience, but we will not EVER be back to this location. We were there for lunch on a Wednesday, arriving around 12:40 pm. We were seated promptly in the remodeled SUPER-NOISY barn of a dining room. That right there cast a pall on the visit, as my husband and I had to shout to be heard over the din. I realize hard surfaces are easy to clean, but they don't make for a good conversational atmosphere. Obviously a big reason for the remodel was so they could cram more seating in there. Looks like the service hasn't caught up with the bigger capacity. It took at least 15 minutes for anyone to stop by our table and acknowledge us, not even a glass of water. That should've tipped us off. Finally a waitress apologized and took our drink and food order. Husband's drink came out, but not my San Pellegrino. We both ordered soup and salads. 5-10 minutes later my soup arrives, but not hubby's soup or my drink yet (WTH?). I'm feeling rude as I apologetically begin eating, as the soup is already not as hot as it should be. My drink arrived about 5 minutes after my soup. We waited another 10-15 minutes or so, with no additional food in sight, no one checking in, and finally got disgusted and left (we left $20 on the table, which was $20 more than the experience was worth). UNACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF SERVICE!!! 40 minutes without food is just too long. SOME SERIOUS SERVICE and MANAGEMENT ISSUES at Brea CPK. Guess I'll learn to make that salad at home. Yum, delicious and filling. A great go-to place for a satisfying meal. My family, friends, and I especially love the flavorful Hawaiian barbeque chicken pizza. Worst CPK I've ever been to. Start to finish: I was there on my lunch break and the hostess asked if I wanted to sit at the bar. Said ok. Went to the so called "fast" area and sat for 10 minutes. 4 servers were in front of me talking, and I believe a manager. Tell me why they stared and didn't even ask what I wanted. HELLO?! I am a customer. One server finally went up to me and asked me what I wanted... BUT NEVER came back for what I asked for. My coworkers and i ordered the full portion moroccan and roasted veggie with salmon salads, very yummy but not enough for the price. They don't offer the same exact salads at cheesecake but any salad at cheesecake is twice the size of ours for the same price. Don't expect bread and butter here either. I ordered the cran cooler and got a glass of club soda with a pinch of cran juice for color. We came here a week ago last Friday 3/2 to celebrate our sons wedding. We planned the dinner with Karen, who handles the banquets. Karen wasn't on site when we arrived but she told us that before hand. Jeff, the manager was on the patio when we arrived. He introduced me to himself and our servers, Oscar and Amanda. Oscar and Amanda were great the whole time we were there and they along with Jeff responded to all our needs. We can't say enough about how great Karen was in planning this for us along with giving us a layout of how the patio would be set up and a time line of the food being brought out. Oh, the food. The pizzas and pastas were the best. We highly recommend calling Karen too help plan your party. read more

This CPK is one of the better CPK's that I've been too over the years. I've never been a huge fan of CPK, but this one is kind of different. You have to remember that it is a CPK, and it is in the mall, so the wait can get a little ridiculous. But most of the time it is fairly reasonable, and if you come at the right times, you might not have to wait at all. The food is very good, It's important to try a new thing everytime, because I've been a BBQ Chicken or Garlic Cream Fettucini addict for a while, and it's a lot better to break out of the routine. If you like pasta, try the Chicken Tequila or the Sausage and Pepper Penne. If you are a big pizza person, definately the BBQ Chicken is a classic, but the Wild Mushroom is amazing, and so is the Sicilian or the Tostada. Remember, they have an "adventure guarantee" thing, so if you don't like it, they'll buy you your old favorite. The bread does suck, ask for oil and vinegar, it makes the bread a little more palatable. I think the service makes up for the cheap, sponge-like bread. The servers are always great, and go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your meal. read more

The host looked like she was annoyed with a dining room full of people and the server took about 15-20 minutes everytime he disappeared, and my husband and I were really hungry. Came at one of the busiest hour (7PM Friday night) yet we were seated right away. Server was quick with our bread, water and drinks. Amazingly quick service! We were in a hurry (needed to go shopping for a wedding) and he was very accomodating! He brought our food quickly, the bill, togo boxes and change was brought to us right away. When we asked about our food, the server gave attitude like "ugh, just wait your turn, it's coming". We also asked for separate checks at the start of our ordering, and even that came out wrong. CPK has definitely improved their menu! Even the bread has changed!! (thank God) haha. Comes out warm & toasty, with a nice herb/Olive oil for dipping instead of butter like in the past. I most definitely love the healthier ingredients including more enriching greens in their CA Club Pizza. CPK doesn't normally pop up in my head when deciding on places to eat, but I can say that now it will. I also love their BBQ chicken salad with the perfect crunch of julienne jicama.. Yum! It comes pre-tossed with dressing. I normally don't like it that way because I feel like salads at all restaurants are just overly drenched with it. Luckily, my salad came out with the perfect amount; just right. Service is decent... Not spectacular but not horrible either. Will become a customer again of CPK after a long hiatus & this particular location will be my go-to. read more

Very poor service. Not the waitress's fault, the place is seriously understaffed for a Friday night. After getting seated it took 10 minutes for the waitress to visit us and take both Fiji's and drink orders. The bread and drinks arrived +5 minutes later. The only complaint i have to make about this place is that they don't give out bread before the meal. They only give it to you when you ask. This was my favorite restaurant for how many years and I never had any problems with it until now. It seems they made some changes with the look and a lot of the servers are new. One problem I have is that they don't clean very well. The booths are always super dirty. I feel like they're really in a hurry. As well as the silverware that still has food stuck to them. This is based on my most recent visit to this CPK location. I ordered my food at 12 to be ready for pickup at 1. When I came in it was a little later then my pickup time. I was standing at the bar and at least 5 employees looked at/passed by me and said nothing. I had to go up to the front and ask someone to help me. Yesterday the restaurant was 90% empty at 4pm. The hostess sat us in the far back area (only two booths there) nearest to the bathroom and near the woodfire oven. I said if we could sit elsewhere as the restaurant was empty. The hostess said when I go out I would want to sit in the back. I said it didn't make sense right near the restroom with the restaurant empty. The hostess walked away. I called and spoke with the manager who at first said the hostess needed coaching but then he said he would want to sit in the back and that they change seating when restaurant was empty. I am not buying this. The hostess as we sat there in the back near the restrooms, sat 2 other groups in the front of the restaurant. I felt uneasy, we left, it was done on purpose. read more

One of the better CPKs around. The service is usually responsive and accomodating. The food is generally quite good. I recommend the Tequila Lime pasta. The honey wheat bread for their pizzas is tasty. The worst part is the bread. Its cold and cardboard like. Don't even bother eating it. There can be long waits for seating because its in the mall. First time at this restaurant. Two stars because food was good. Service was also good until I asked 3 times for our check to be separate amongst us 4. I work in disability services so my clients need their own receipts and our waiter gave us the HARDEST time! Before we ordered, I asked if that was possible and he said yes no problem!
