This CPK gets a very low 4 stars. Our server Angel (male) was super nice. He was so pleasant. He brought what we needed fast. The hostess was real nice too. The bread was delicious. I love how it was brought out warm and toasty. We split a full Cobb salad. It was really delicious but smaller than the one in Ft Lauderdale serves. This is my favorite salad they serve and the only one I have ordered for many years. The Hawaiian pizza was disappointing. Looking at the picture here, the pineapple looks like egg. We've been customers for nearly 20 years, which makes this review especially disappointing. Nostalgia only goes so far, and it's difficult to believe how far this CPK has declined. What was once a reliable favorite at Waterside now feels like a shell of its former self. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, but the food was shockingly poor. We ordered the avocado egg rolls, filet mignon salad, crispy chicken wonton salad, and kids' crispy chicken with potato wedges. Nothing tasted fresh, and the chicken was particularly concerning in its taste, texture, and consistency. Overall, the meal bordered on inedible. We've always enjoyed California Pizza Kitchen in the past, but our most recent visit was really disappointing. The appetizers and bread were good but then everything went downhill. It took what could have easily been an hour for our main courses (pizza, salad, and mac & cheese) to come out, even though the restaurant was not busy. New customers came in, were seated and served, and then departed all while we waited for our food. When the food finally arrived, the mac & cheese was barely warm. Our server did apologize (but his reason didn't make any sense as the food we were supposedly waiting for came at room temperature), but given the long wait and the quality of the food, it just didn't feel sufficient. This should have been dealt with by the manager. We used to love CPK, but after this experience, we won't be returning. read more

We were searching for cauliflower crusted pizza and CPC answered our prayers. Haven't been to this chain in years and happy with our choice. We arrived just around 5pm so wasn't too busy. This is my go-to lunch spot when I'm looking for something quick and easy. When I'm eating more of a plant based diet my go-to is their split pea soup, it's a favorite of mine. I enjoy their salads and they appetizers. I think the staff is super efficient and friendly. I do think that the food, especially when taken out lacks some excitement. The dining experience in the restaurant is nice and restaurant is clean and open. I do think that the presentations of the food bring warmth onto the plate but takeout can feel like a pickup and go option at the grocery store. read more

I've been to many different locations of California Pizza Kitchen and have always enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance. Last night was a totally different experience from beginning to end. Our waiter was attentive and took our drink order immediately, but had to keep apologizing because we were left for over 40 minutes without our drinks. Then our food arrived and we were still without drinks. I ordered the Thai Spring Rolls. They were lukewarm, half filled, and two were burned literally to a crisp and fell apart in my hand. Seat mate had ordered soup as an appetizer but it came out AFTER her entree. We could see the manager walking around but he never spoke to us. Seat mate attempted to speak to him as we were leaving. He refused to make eye contact and let her know that he pitched in to help the bartender make the drinks, as if that made things better. I have never encountered such ambivalence and ineptitude in any restaurant manager. My advice to you is stay far away from this location. read more

After so many years my family and I had dinner at this place last night. We craved Cesar salad and pizza and oh boy... that was exceptional! Place is great for dining with two active toddlers. Service was so accommodating and we didn't feel pressured to leave the place just because kiddos got tired. Then, going home we forgot our leftovers. A few minutes later we returned but the food was tossed away. Our absolutely amazing and kind waiter checked with his team and they made a new pizza to go. I am not a regular at CPK. I find their pizza's really good, they are just not my preferred style. It was a fundraiser for my kids school and we wanted to support them. The service was really friendly and the food was good. It was surpassingly quiet for a weekend evening. We ate at the California pizza at the Coconut Mall in Estero, while the waitress was so very nice and helpful, the food was tasteless and bland. My husband had the loaded pizza, he gave me a slice, and we both agreed it really had no taste. It was just bland. I had The Italian chopped salad, it was mostly lettuce hardly any meat or cheese and again it was like eating, Romaine lettuce only. We ordered the bang bang Sriracha shrimp for an appetizer, the shrimp tasted a bit undercooked and the outside codeine was so thick. That's really all you tasted. Advertised as Hand-wrapped crispy wonton rolls filled with avocado, chicken, tomato, Monterey Jack and Nueske's applewood smoked bacon. Served with housemade ranchito sauce and herb ranch.. what was served was fried cheese and a dash of avocado, no chicken and no tomato. Each egg roll was half filled. Bazaar considering I've been to CPK for dine in and know this isn't what they normally serve. For a $13 app, I expect to at least get the meat, thank you very much. CPK is usually one of my go to places. I can usually rely on them to be consistent. This one in Naples was not. The server was super friendly. He was very attentive without being overbearing. We ordered avocado egg rolls, kung pao spaghetti, and a Thai chicken pizza. The egg rolls came out quickly and both my friend and I felt something had changed with them, and it was for the better. They were hot and really tasty. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but I was annoyed that my Thai pizza, that is normally overflowing with bean spouts, carrots and green onion, looked like it had barely anything on it. They was barely enough chicken on it to make it a Thai Chicken pizza. I didn't even taste the peanut sauce that is normally on it. I ate one slice and that was enough for me. I gave the rest to my friend to take home and later she told me that it was a sad excuse for a Thai pizza. For the price you pay, you would think it would be a no brainer to serve high quality food that is consistent. This was a very nice experience during those Covid days. I was happy to see that CPK was raking the necessary precautions of plexiglass, masks and sanitizer. The waiter sat us at a booth away from others. I loved the decor this CPK. It was very pretty and felt like some place special. We had several different kinds of food on the table from caesar salad with shrimp, to pasta. The only thing negative was that my husband asked about the happy hour special an they said well tonight we are not doing it-- then why have the sign that you are? That part makes no sense to us! Happy Mother's Day to all of the mom's out there today! The restaurant has been redone with a modern feel. Since CPK doesn't take reservations, we called them 15-20minutes ahead of our arrival time to have our name on the list for a table of 6 people. Once we arrived, we waited about 10-15 minutes for a 6 person table to open up, which wasn't too bad since it's Mother's Day. Throughout our time at CPK, there were a few bumps in the road. The difference in this restaurant is the way the manager and our server handled each problem that arose in a calm and professional manor. The manager Rich and our server Jose were very accommodating, diligent, and friendly. We will definitely be back for another visit. The different plates we ordered were delicious and had great presentation. For an appetizer, we ordered the spinach artichoke dip and it was tasty, like always. The original steak entree my brother ordered was much much too rare and his potatoes were ice cold. They took back his meal and brought out a fresh one, perfectly cooked and warm. The other meals were great, I would definitely recommend the BBQ chicken pizza with pineapple or if you like a little spice - the Thai chicken pizza. They added some new healthy power bowls to the menu. We got the Banh Mi Bowl and it was delicious, but the portion size of each item in the bowl was pretty small. Great for people eating healthy and watching their portion size. The dressing also had a kick to it, so be prepared! For dessert we had the key lime pie and Belgian chocolate soufflé cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They were both delicious, but if I had to pick one, the chocolate soufflé is the winner. Why would a gluten free person eat here? No need to eat pizza if you come. Menu is varied and heathy. I like the lettuce wraps and can have the tortilla soup. They offer a menu for light meals, service is always good. During season we sit at the counter that faces the open kitchen. You can keep an eye on the TV and your food (make sure no one sneezes on your pizza.) Otherwise there is usually a wait for a table. Sit in with the locals or outside with the tourists. The avocado rolls are my go-to pick for an appetizer. And I love their tortilla soup. I ordered the roasted garlic chicken pizza which I would not recommend. The pizza was good but the chicken was not. I don't think I can recommend any pizza with chicken. It tastes very chewy. It's not fresh. You can tell its some type of prepackaged/refrigerated version. Not the end of the world, I just learned my lesson. I love the outdoor seating arrangement. I noticed a few tables sending things back which is never a good sign. I would have liked to have done the same but I knew I would have to get something completely different to enjoy my meal so I just dealt with it.
