I met a friend for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen at Bridgport because I had a coupon for a free app. I was quite pleased at our choices and service. We split the complimentary Avocado Egg Rolls and a BBQ chicken salad. It was plenty of food for the both of us and the atmosphere was perfect for an afternoon catch up. The server was pleasant and knew once we got everything, she left us alone. I forgot how I really like the food here, I did a lot of pick up during Covid and haven't been back in awhile. I was surprised at how busy the parking lots were for a Thursday lunch break. I ended up parking in the garage where there were plenty of available spots that kept my car cool in a surprisingly warm afternoon. It has been quite a while since I visited a CPK but we had a nice and filling family dinner here on a sunny Thursday! Parking is plenty across the street shared with other restaurants or the garages and taking a little stroll past the movie theater. They had indoor and outdoor seating including booths and bigger tables for groups. First, I would highly recommend coming for their Happy Hour Mon-Fri 3-6pm! These deals are incredible to try out different appetizers and you truly can't beat the $9 pizza and beer deal?!! The White Corn Guacamole had giant chunks of avocado and lots of jalapeños for a kick. The only thing was some of the chips were super crumbly and broken but otherwise very flavorful. My favorite had to be the Dynamite Shrimp with the tangy and sweet sauce on a bed of cabbage salad. Hubby got the HH dear with beer and of course their OG BBQ Chicken Pizza - always a classic always on point. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and was helpful with the menu ($2.50 charge for doing 1/2 and 1/2 pizza) We decided to go with both the Five Cheese Pizza and California Club Pizza. While the actual pizza pie itself is on the smaller side ($20-22 per pie normally), they did not skimp on the toppings! We left full and took 2 pieces of pizza leftovers to go and half of the guacamole. The server even gave us extra chips too! Today, we're craving for a pizza. We're in Tigard and this restaurant popped up on my search. We were seated (by a window) right away. Our waitress helped us made decisions. We both ordered what we could have ordered without the salad or soup. We both got them, with the lunch duo's. I ordered Tomato Basil Bisque with Bolognese Spaghetti. He ordered the Thai Salad with California Club Pizza. I didn't care much of the Thai Salad, because of the dressing, but everything else was excellent! Great place for happy hour before a movie. We got a drink and a personal pizza, enjoyed the price and food. It's a true chain restaurant with an overwhelming amount of choices, I will stick with happy hour deals. I am so glad that I can write such a great update! I love a business that improves and, who knows, maybe it was just because I had Alejandro helping me. I am so rarely at the actual mall here. I come in for late night movies. This day I was seeing the last showing of a movie I REALLY wanted to see and it was in the middle of the afternoon. I came out of the film and was craving lunch. So I walked on down to grab California Pizza Kitchen. I was already sad though. It has been forever and I remembered that they have sandwiches and salad combos but I wanted salad and just a small amount of pizza. First, I was super hungry so getting a coke and some yum bread with oil and balsamic was very welcomed. But then I nearly cried when I discovered I could get a VERY small margarita pizza and a small Caesar. And, wait - I can add chunks of salmon to the Caesar?!? Because I saw some of the entrees and wanted that too! Yes, I was hungry and wanted everything but I can only eat so much an so many leftovers. This was such an amazing lunch and I genuinely had half of everything. I went to a meet up for friends in from across the country and then had theater tickets. After the show I was able to finish my pizza and salad which kept perfect since, thankfully, it is that time of year when it is not too cold or too warm. This restaurant does not take reservations. Called a week before to make a reservation and was told they don't take early reservations and told me to call again closer to the date. I called again the day before and was told they don't even take reservations at all. I guess not everyone have the same Info on their policy. One good thing about this place before I get started is they did have good lettuce wraps that that is why I gave 2 stars instead of one. I ordered chicken picatta and it came back inedible. The chicken was slimy and I couldn't cut through it. I couldn't even bite through it. It was nauseating. By the time they came back with a replacement my husband had finished his whole dinner. It was better, but I had to box it up and take it home because we had waited so long. I understand things happen, but there never a manager that came over to apologize, no comp for the meal, no offer for a free appetizer or a desert. Nothing. Just full price and have a nice evening. Also the portions have gotten extremely small. Huge giant bowls, but very little food in them for the increased prices.My husband was still hungry when we left. We were extremely disappointed and dissatisfied. We will never come back. I don't mind higher prices if the food and service match, but in this case neither were good. I went for the classic Margarita pizza and paired it with an Italian salad, while my pal opted for the BBQ chicken pizza and an Italian salad. Let me tell you, it was the ultimate combo, and the portion size was just right. Now, let's talk about my Margarita pizza. It was so delicious that I'd give it a solid 5 out of 5 rating! We added our name online to the waitlist with a 10 minute waitlist time. When we arrived the hostess had no idea what we were talking about. It seems the online system is in no way connected to the restaurant. It was a 50 minute waitlist which would make us late for the movie at the theater a few doors down. This is the second time going to CPK with the first being a while ago, and I definitely have been missing out. The lunch special with a pizza and a soup or salad is definitely worth the price. The pizza was so crunchy and delicious, I enjoyed it alot! The sauce on the salad was great and had the perfect amount of crunch. I enjoyed both alot! What I didn't like though was that a piece of the chicken in the salad was burnt and ruined the flavor of everything else, but hopefully that was just a small mistake! The drink we got was very subpar, it seemed like it should have been very juice like and alot more flavorful based on the description but it just didn't have any flavor and was basically just like a sparkling water. I wouldn't recommend getting this if you dislike sparkling waters like I do. The staff was great and very nice when we asked for things. Getting the bread is definitely a must! They gave me a free large Coke when I didn't even dine there. I pulled out my credit card to pay for it and they said "don't worry about it." I think they may have noticed that I looked tired and was limping around from an injury and took some pity on me. I really appreciated it, because I was hot and tired. We are not super into chain restaurants, but this particular California Pizza Kitchen is remarkably good. It was the first sit-down meal we had when mandates cleared upon first moving to Oregon during the pandemic and we've been there every 6 months or so since. When my mom and sister come into town, this is one meal they want to have - the food is always consistent, with fast and friendly service no matter how busy the location is. We've all gone to a fair handfuls of CPK locations in the Bay Area and So Cal over the years but this place is hands down the best. Tonight's meal was no exception and I realized I just had to review it! We got the new burrata pizza, fantastic. The tostada pizza with chicken, fantastic. The new berry and watermelon salad was super refreshing and we got a few sides including the street corn, guacamole and dynamite shrimp. My personal fave is the zucchini noodle pasta with shrimp. Other locations have overcooked the shrimp but always spot on here. Thanks to this CPK location for being consistently great! read more

Do not order the steak salad. There were maybe 7 bite-sized pieces of steak. Only one small piece was edible. The other pieces were too tough and over cooked to eat. The greens weren't crispy fresh and there was very little dressing. I think it was supposed to have blue cheese but I only got that in one of the bites. My mom had the expensive hamburger that had less flavor than a Wendy's and the meat was overcooked. On the plus side, our server was VERY nice and gave me a discount on the salad. The crust is also not great but compared to not having any one address us; being ignored takes the cake. The food was so flavorful. I frequent this location a lot, and felt like the food was extra fresh this visit. I'm giving it 4 stars for now because they're not always consistent with the food. I also had excellent service on this visit. Our server, Nicci, was delightful, efficient and you could tell she cared about her customers. The ambiance is something that needs attention. It looks tired and needs some updating. Also, the bathroom stalls are ridiculously small, you can't hardly shut the door as it's so close to the toilet. The hostess greeted us and we requested outside seating. She indicated they were cleaning a table for us. Another couple came and were greeted by a different hostess and set that couple at our table. Our hostess never once came out to us and notified us of their mistake or offered and apology. After 10 minutes of being ignored ( the restaurant wasn't busy) we left. Good food, one bad manager. Went for late lunch on mothers day (3:30pm). We were sat at a booth that was connected to a host stand (questionable design, but i digress). In the middle of our meal Jason (purple shirted manager - i'm assuming thats his name, thats the cashier listed on the check) found a female manager at the stand and started verbally berating her. This went on for at least several mins before my partner and I had to interrupt to ask them if they could have the conversation somewhere more professional. The rest of the staff were wonderful, the food was amazing and while Jason did comp our lunch, having heard what he was comfortable saying in front of customers, I shudder to think of how he speaks to them in private. read more

California Pizza Kitchen is an establishment I know I've been to a handful of times, but never had any lasting impact on me. Years will go by and I'll think "Oh, I wonder how CPK is". And it's never a bad experience. Their pizzas, an 11in personal pie size, usually hit the spot, but never quite go above and beyond. The ingredients and quality of choices are very good. Sure, not artisan levels of quality, but I'm no stickler for that. I ordered the Original BBQ Chicken which featured small cubes of chicken, thinly cut spears of onion, and a drizzle of BBQ sauce. The flavors were all there, it's exactly what I expected and wanted a BBQ chicken pizza to be. Yet, what usually makes or breaks a pizza for me is the crust. Personally, I prefer a crispy crust, or at least crust that has a bit of a backbone to it. While yes, there are different styles of pizza that I enjoy like Chicago deep dish, Detroit pan style, and good ol' greasy and flimsy New York style, I usually always go back to pizzas that have a crisp crust. CPK's pies definitely have a soft crust, one that I would compare to the consistency of a buffet breadstick. It simply is not my cup of tea and distracted a bit from the overall enjoyment. Far from bad, but more middle of the road. What I will commend CPK for is the insanely fast service. I know there's truth in the saying "time flies when you're having fun", as I was catching up with a friend who just got back from Portugal, but I swear this was a case of "time flies because we cook these suckers quick"! Definitely a moment where we both were surprised and thankful for barely having to wait. Also, I do recommend the tequila/passionfruit cocktail that goes for only $7. That's a drink I would typically expect going for double the price at a restaurant or bar, so I was pleasantly surprised how cheap it was. Not much booze in it, but I'm not looking to get hammered in a California Pizza Kitchen now am I? All in all. CPK is the definition of middle of the road inoffensive pizzas. I know they also do take-and-bake, so perhaps that's the route I need to take to create a more lasting impression. read more

When CPK opened it's first restaurant back in 1985, it was a pioneer in the field of artisan style pizzas. Their very first menu was developed by the man who was, at that time, the pizza chef at Wolfgang Puck's Spago. People loved this new kind of pizza and soon there were artisan pizza places everywhere. This CPK is conveniently located in Bridgeport Village. There is indoor seating as well as covered outdoor seating. The menu includes a lot more than pizza. There is pasta, salads, soups, sandwiches, appetizer plates and desserts. There is also a full bar. My friend and I came here for lunch and ordered the pizza and soup lunch special. The food was ok but other places are doing far better artisan pizzas now. It's pretty standard fare. My Bloody Mary was good but cost as much as my lunch special. There are currently over 250 CPKs in the US and ten other countries. This location seems to be pretty popular. The outdoor patio where we sat was completely filled with "ladies that lunch" when we left. It felt like a cackling hen house. Service was good. CPK is a decent place to dine while you're out shopping at Bridgeport Village or if you're here to watch a movie at the nearby theatre. But it's not a destination dining spot. Meh. read more

Ever since the Seattle CPK closed down I've been craving a good Avocado Club Egg-roll and Butter Cake. Finally had the opportunity to come down to Oregon and visit the local CPK and, oh wow! Just like how I remember! Carrie in particular just absolutely MADE the experience. I've always had amazing service at CPKs, but Carrie was a gem! If you go during the week, they have pick two soup, salad, or sandwich combos at a reasonable price. I love the tostada pizza and fiesta Baja salad, but there are over a dozen mix and match choice selections. Sign up for their CPK rewards program app program and receive a free dessert during the month of your birthday and other monthly offers like $10 off of $40 order or $5 off after three visits. It's a good reliable choice for a quick dinner out. I really enjoy their key lime pie and pumpkin cheesecake - so good.
