I haven't been back to a Red Lobster since the whole 'AYCE Shrimp' fiasco, bankruptcy, and changing of CEO occurred. But the brand used to be THE fancy place to go while growing up for me, and was sometimes a family dinner stop for my wife's family...so it has fond memories But the ones close by have closed down, and my last visit wasn't good. But this location being so close to a store that we needed to go to, made me want to try it again for a weekend lunch. So I didn't do any searching for online menus and prices; my wife, mother-in-law, and I just went. And it turned out great. It's a large dining space, and it was empty when we came in the early afternoon on a Thursday, with nobody manning the front. It gave me time to examine the sad lobster tank. But soon, the hostess noticed us and guided us to a choice of booth (chosen) or bar seating. Many different pages of menus were given, and our server came over to give us ice water, a basket of cheddar bay biscuits and take our drink order. We munched on the good cheddar bay biscuits while perusing the menu (the biscuits have changed in appearance...whereas before, the tops looked like Guy Fieri's head, now it is more similar to Telly Savalas). All of us focused on the lunch menu, knowing we could share. Weekday Shrimp Trio ($17.99) - not available on the weekend, and with no substitutions, the trio consisting of shrimp scampi, shrimp linguine Alfredo, Popcorn Shrimp with french fries as a side. To my surprise, the best thing by far was the popcorn shrimp. Red Lobster debuted this in 1974, copying the idea of Cajun popcorn (crawfish), and I now believe I've never had it here before. I'm used to popcorn shrimp being tiny salad shrimp, with a thick batter: more deep fried batter than actual shrimp. This was very different: this was chopped up pieces of a much larger shrimp, lightly battered and deep fried. It was really good, and shows off the deep frying capabilities of Red Lobster. The fries were also very good: plentiful, lightly battered and expertly deep fried. Including the shrimp scampi (just OK) and the alfredo (very rich so the small portion was just right) made this dish a bargain and a good choice for someone who loves shrimp. Endless Soup, Salad, Biscuits ($11.99) - chose House Salad with a green salad mix, chopped tomatos. Very ordinary. But the lobster Bisque was enjoyed by my wife, especially with the never-ending supply of biscuits. She only needed one bowl, and gave the salad to her mom (Thousand Island not available so chose Citrus Lime Vinaigrette instead). Walt's Favorite Shrimp ($17.99) - eight pieces of lightly battered, tail-on, butterflied shrimp, with choice of side (mashed potato in this case). The shrimp was really good, and the mashed potatoes being enjoyed by Mom. Payment is taken at the table. It still was pretty empty when we left, but the news is that Red Lobster is doing better. Glad to hear it, with the food quality and value menu leading the way. read more

So, I haven't been to Red Lobster in AGES! Probably close to a decade. But recently I was craving lobster; something I wouldn't call a "favorite" food of mine, but nonetheless a food for which I do get a once-in-a-blue-moon craving. Because it's a chain restaurant, people often assume and expect the worst. And I'll freely admit that I didn't have terribly high expectations myself. Which was unfortunate because the meal I received was not only good, it was in fact fantastic! Precisely because Red Lobster is a rare visit for me I decided to splurge. They have a combo platter where you can choose between - if I recall correctly - two, three, or four entrees. Because it was "Lobsterfest" I ordered the combo platter with a Maine lobster tail, shrimp scampi, Walt's shrimp (fried), and a sirloin steak. Yes dear reader, I decided to pig out! Which is especially funny since I usually tend to be a light eater. The lobster was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Likewise, both shrimp dishes were tasty and properly cooked. The biggest surprise however was the sirloin steak. I love a good filet, and sometimes a New York strip. But sirloin generally isn't my favorite. It's tough to cook it such that the steak is tender enough and flavorful enough. So I was very pleasantly surprised that this was the best sirloin steak I've had in a long, long time. Really tasty, not at all tough, and I got the sense it was actually pretty good quality beef (which I wouldn't have expected). Service was a little slow at times, especially when we were done and wanted to pay the bill and leave. Took what seemed like forever to get the waiter's attention. But I think he was also covering more tables than normal; a difficult spot for a waiter. Given how delicious the meal was I can let it slide. Overall, the meal was significantly better than I expected. Anyone who would casually write-off Red Lobster simply because it's a chain should maybe reconsider. I would absolutely go again and in fact will likely do so this summer. I have attached a picture of my actual platter. Red Lobster - My "Lobsterfest" meal at Red Lobster was...heavenly! - Seafood Near Me - Tigard, Oregon

So i admit, when i think of seafood, RL isn't first or honestly 6th on my list. However last night i was taking my daughter out for dinner and she absolutely loves their Garlic Shrimp Scampi, so when she made her request i said "Ok" without any hesitation. We got there pretty early after she finished ice skating...probably about 4:45. It was pretty empty and we were seated immediately. We ordered the fried mozzarella sticks first and they were really fresh and hot with a very good cheese pull. She got the GSS as i mentioned earlier and I went with the lobster flatbread. I had never had before and it sounded like a good option. I was very pleased with it. It was a lighter option but still had a seafood aspect. It reminded me a little of a thin crust pizza with lobster. The flat bread was a little saltier than I expected but it still worked. My daughter loved her shrimp and dunked the cheddar bay biscuits and cheese sticks in the garlic sauce too. For dessert she got the strawberry cheesecake (the picture does not do it justice) she had most of it, but she donated the last 10% to me...it was pretty darn tasty. In closing, this visit was much better than my previous...in the future we will try to go Mon-Fri because there is unlimited GSS, and she would really like that. read more

Came in excited for the seafood boils but they didn't have them yet - no biggie! I'd just heard about it and wasn't even sure if it was happening yet. We got our usual and tried out the margarita flight. Our waitress was super friendly, super eager to help and get stuff out without hovering which was nice. The place was quiet, it was lunch time on a weekday so that feels pretty standard. Everything was clean and well taken care of. My wife and I recently dined in to celebrate our anniversary. We come to this location pretty often so we were expecting the usual nice experience....but unfortunately that was not the case this time. Our server named Garrette was mainly the reason for our experience. His attitude was very clearly artificial and quite pretentious. My rating of 2 stars is actually for the start of the experience, but the end is 5 stars. Ordered take out online last night. Two dinners, total with tip, $56.62. Husband brought home the food and we opened the bag. Huh? Is that all? My dinner was there, coconut shrimp with broccoli, but there was a small container with garlic shrimp a small container with fried shrimp, and a salad. Missing the shrimp linguine and NO BISCUITS! Called up the store and talked to Sergei the manager. He apologized for the missing items and asked if we could come back and get the rest of the meal. I said no, that's not convenient and that I would at least like a portion of the amount I paid for the one meal refunded. He countered with refunding me the entire amount which was very generous, and said he would talk to his to go order team. Talk about a shit show! I was in Red Lobster on Greenburg Road, Tigard for my daughter's birthday in early January, I asked our waitress and a host who both told me that they still don't take reservations. The hubby and I attempted to go for an early Valentine's dinner only to find that they're only serving people who have reservations tonight! WTF?!?! This time the service was fast, the music wasn't loud, and the restaurant wasn't cold. The waitress we got this time wasn't too friendly; I think I detected some annoyance. Our food was good and presented well. Some shrimp dishes come with the tails on, and some with the tails off. I wish that they'd remove the tails from all of their shrimp dishes. Or at least the ones where the shrimp are submerged in pasta or salad. Because who wants to get their fingers dirty picking out shrimps to de-tail them? We met our sisters for lunch. The service was great, "Steve" was our waiter and was attentive and courteous. My wife and I each had the fish and chips, which were excellent. Manager and service staff has poor customer service as they physically put their hands on a customer that was pregnant and pushed them and then lied about it. Yes, you could improve by providing more training to your staff on knowing how to treat people and not feel entitled to physically put your hands on someone who is vulnerable. We eat here once a month on Wed. and always get the steak and lobster special. It was my wife's birthday, so the staff made her feel special. Manager was active and involved, and solved a minor issue with ease. I questioned why my baked potato came without the extras. An upgrade for $2.95, just like a green salad is an upgrade for $3.95. Also, are the Blue Cheese and Thousand Islands Dressings gone for a reason? We enjoyed the Honey Mustard instead. read more

Matthew was our server on a Friday night and he was great about paying close attention to detail, including my son's severe allergy, and our many requests. Definitely service with a smile and sincerity! The menu selections were tasty and the Crab Fest (Snow Crab) was enjoyed by all; we especially loved the garlic butter seasoning. We finally got our endless shrimp special! We called ahead this time to confirm they were not only having the deal but also had the items available to serve it. (Last year when we came the special was running but this location ended it early because they didn't have the products.) We were seated next to the bar. We had a really great server, who was also the bartender. We order 3 of the endless shrimp specials and a daily special of steak and lobster. Everything was served hot and prepared nicely. It all tasted great and was an enjoyable meal. Our drinks were refilled quickly and we received 2nd & 3rd helpings of the shrimp. A few of the bar patrons, sitting at the bar, were starting to get a loud and a little rowdy so we took that as our cue to finish up and leave. Reviews seem to be on the upswing for this location. After a bad experience with a canceled delivery order, the General Manager provided us with a gift certificate for "Guest Recovery." We went this evening and expected a wait considering it was a Friday evening during Lent. After more than an hour wait for food, our server told us 2 of the 3 ovens were out of service and had been for the last two weeks. We learned the have been routinely canceling delivery ordes when their kitchen gets backed up. So we now learned our initial delivery order, which they blamed on the DoorDash driver for stealing, was canceled because their ovens are broken and they can't keep up with the customers they still choose to seat, without informing them of the kitchen delay. The Service Staff is doing their best to work through impossible times. We tipped our waiter even though our bill wound up being comped. The management and Corp Franchise need to step in to ensure guests are informed of delays related to equipment issues. We watched no less than 4 large parties walk out waiting for food this evening. According to the three staff, on duty manager included, they only have 1 working ovens which operates at the lowest of the 3 temperatures their ovens operate at and there is currently no ETA for when the ovens will be fixed. My suggestion, unless you want to kill a LOT of time, avoid them for the next few weeks until they get their ovens sorted out. read more

Dark and stormy day and was craving shrimp so we pulled into Red Lobster. I haven't been here for quite some time in the parking lot was not that full. I went in and proceeded to the bar where they were open tables and sat down. I usually always eat in the bar when dining alone. All of a sudden, I hear this woman's voice yelling across the restaurant... " you can't sit there unless you check in at the hostess station". Firstly, for being a "higher end" restaurant, you'd think the bathrooms would be getting cleaned regularly. No. There was urine on every single seat in the women's restroom. Absolutely grotesque. Yes women should be cleaning up after themselves if they're going to squat and make a filthy mess, but the restaurant should also be cleaning regularly when busy. Secondly, our service was less then par. Having to wait excessively for food while numerous folks around us were getting their food before we did. We had to wait an excessively long time for our refills as well. Basically being ignored the entire time. Lastly, the food. Everything was semi decent, however they forgot to bring us numerous items and due to the less than par service, we couldn't even ask until the end of the meal. When they put it with out to go bags, and I opened the missing item at home. Lobster loaded potato..... they pretty much said f u on the toppings. Haven't been here in years- had a craving for seafood and was in the area and decided to stop in. Was weird to see how empty it was compared to the old days. Used to be just packed all the time. Hoping this was just a slow night. The cheddar biscuits were light and flaky like we remembered. The Ceasar salad was also like we remembered- crisp with the right amount of dressing and parmeson. We ordered the Crab Rangoon as an appetizer. So good. The sauce has some heat surprisingly. I loved it. My wife ordered the cocktail shrimp appetizer and a side of broccoli. I ended up finishing her shrimp and they were fantastic! The Pina Colada dipping sauce is the perfect compliment. I ordered the New Orleans salmon. Basically a blackened Salmon with a creole cream sauce with shrimp on top. Absolutely outstanding. Phenomenal flavor- not to much heat. Just a great balance. I got a half order and got a side of shrimp scampi too. The price for that was about the same as a whole order. The scampi was great too. Overall we left full and satisfied. The receipt doesn't have out servers name, so I can't give her credit. She and the staff were efficient, friendly, and helpful. Great job! read more

Came here for dinner on Wednesday. The staff and our server were very friendly. Ordered an appetizer of the stuffed mushrooms, which were good. Each of us ordered a cup of soup so I got to try the lobster bisque and the clam chowder. The lobster bisque was good and had a lot of flavor. The clam chowder was thin and for the most part tasteless. The jumbo shrimp that came with the meal tasted fresh and delicious. Popcorn shrimp was good. We also tried the Brussel sprouts and those were a hit. For a seafood place, they sure know how to cook those Brussel sprouts. As for the fish and chips, the fries were good but the fried fish was terrible. The bottom was soggy from too much grease. I would definitely avoid the fish and chips. I really wanted to give this meal 3.5 stars due to the clam chowder and the fish and chip, but boy do I love those biscuits!!! read more
