    Breakfast
    Christina K.

OK, I usually avoid the hotel restaurants because the food is usually average and the prices are typically high but I'm staying at this hotel for four nights and they've been late. There's been both good and bad. The bad: when I met with hotel staff for business someone mentioned that they got a new pizza oven in so I was very intrigued and I had assumed that that their pizzas were Neapolitan style . I ended up ordering one for dinner and was certainly disappointed. It was like a super flat crust, reminiscent of Lunchables. Maybe the pizza oven is a conveyer belt style? Honestly, very disappointing and the worst dishes we ate - we took one side and left the rest. Other than that, everything else was actually REALLY good. We had the vegan gnocchi which was Incredible with the wild mushrooms, my colleague had a rigatoni bolognese, which was very flavorful and we also shared the Mediterranean salad which was sooo good. The dressing had a ton of oregano, the cucumber was crisp and sweet and the caper berries were a briny surprise. We also shared the warm cookie and vanilla ice cream for dessert. All our entrees were right around $20 and a good size; the salad was $14 and well worth it in my opinion. I also had breakfast and got the egg white omelet. It was not great. Had a bite of my coworker's mushroom omelette. Also very average. The menu made everything sound way better than it tastes. In conclusion, lunch/dinner menu was very good except for pizza and avoid breakfast.

    Avocado open toast

Was here to eat breakfast and dinner. Avocado open toast was good so as the mushroom omelette and side order of bacon. So we decided to be back for dinner. Chicken Cobb salad all ingredients are fresh. Shrimp bucatini pasta was kinda salty and too oily, but the shrimp was huge. The pasta seems fresh made but I am not a fan of its texture. Truffle fries was too dry and not crispy though, I hope it wasn't second time fried or reheat. 20% gratuity will be added to bill by union labor law as indicated on the menu. Service was great!

I came here with my son and friends during our recent Universal Studios trip and it did not disappoint. I'm so happy we chose the package that included the breakfast buffet. We ate both days of our stay and had a great experience. We enjoyed excellent service in an incredibly beautiful setting. The buffet was plentiful. Day one I enjoyed pancakes, bacon, spinach and mushroom omelette, and fresh fruit. Day two I devoured a yummy cheese blintz, bacon, waffle, zucchini omelette, and fresh fruit. I ordered decaf coffee on both days. The presentation was beautiful and every bite was flavorful. I normally don't eat that much, but it was my vacation and the options made it difficult to choose so I just ate what I wanted. What I noticed was even though I felt full, I didn't feel heavy, and enjoyed good energy both days. For me that means the food was great quality. Honestly, I was full both days and didn't eat again until dinner. My whole party agreed, our next trip we will return and enjoy this amazing buffet breakfast.

TL;DR: Decent food, but overpriced. We were mistakenly charged the wrong bill, and there's an automatic 20% service charge even for parties of two. Food: 3.5/5 We went for dinner at the hotel since we arrived late. We ordered the Cobb salad and Truffle fries. The salad was pretty good, but very pricey ($17). The Truffle fries were tasty but were pretty greasy and expensive ($13). Service: 2/5 We couldn't find our original server when we were ready to pay, so we handed our check and credit card to a different server. After waiting 15 minutes with no sign of our card, we asked the host, and eventually, our server returned confused. It turned out they had charged us another couple's bill and our bill! Their bill was $70 while ours was $39.42! I don't understand how they could charge the wrong bill when our credit card was in our checkbook! Although they canceled the incorrect charge, the experience left us with a sour feeling.

I think for the price, it was okay. Pretty filing. Service was not bad. I don't really have much to say, except that the restaurant is pretty pricey. Not many things are within walking distance to eat from the hotel, unless you want to go to Universal City Walk. But then you'd have to shuttle there. We ordered dessert at night and that took forever! We ordered ice cream too, so we can just bring it back to our room. Found out it was just sitting at the bar and they never gave it to us. That kinda sucked. Ultimately, everything was okay, hence the 3 stars.

This was $18.00 . Honestly very well cooked eggs. Bacon was ok. It's just sad to see the pricing on this. Service was trash. I asked for an extra egg instead of potatoes. And was told no. Also asked to replace the toast for oatmeal. Again told no. Instead I paid for an extra egg and oats. Asked for no milk in oats just water. I revived oats with milk. Total bill for 2 adult breakfasts and 2 kids was over $75 simply put, go to the store eat raw eggs and pre cooked bacon and you'll be happier.

We came for breakfast and got the buffet meal. The oatmeal was watery. The other items were okay for the price. The service was great though. Plus the actual restaurant was clean and was okay. It's kinda just there for a quick meal before heading off to universal. It's okay. They also give really small portions for the amount of money the steak and eggs cost. But if you want to go somewhere quick I guess you can go here. ( the service was real good )

Came for breakfast because we stayed in the hotel and it was easy. The food was fine, service was fine, everything was OK - hence the 3 star rating. Ordered a la carte so did not try the buffet. The mushroom and gruyere egg white omelette was good, the potatoes were decent. A little hot sauce on top of the omelette did wonders for the flavor.

As a hotel restaurant, this place is really expensive. That being said, we had a food voucher and decided to have breakfast here before going to the Universal Studios. The food was pretty tasty and filling. There were also healthier options than what we could've gotten in the park I think. There's a breakfast buffet option that looked like it was decently priced. Service was really nice and quick and they gave me a to go cup to finish my coffee later. Overall, it's a tasty place and a great place to go before the theme park. The pricing is just a little higher than preferred, although perfect with a voucher!

Of course, Studio City has a village full of good restaurant choices, but since I was already a fan of their other location on the Westside, The Six on Pico Blvd., I decided to give this one a try. So Saturday brunch it was! We arrived earlier to avoid crowds at 10:45, and we had the place all to ourselves until 11:15. Reservations were made via Yelp, but we obviously didn't need them. I was a bit surprised, but small groups eventually trickled in slowly. ** THE CHOW ** My brunch date ordered a California omelet, made with brie, red bell, caramelized onions, and topped with half an avocado. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very yummy and the omelet was tasty too. Did I mention I'm a glutton for brunch? Well, I decided to eat one like one. And the Knife & Fork Chicken + Waffles was just right for my appetite. It satisfied the fried chicken cravings I had racked up over an entire week. I liked that the chicken was boneless, skinless, buttermilk-battered, and crispy. The fancy "red devil gravy" is basically a watery Tapatio for dunking or (if you're like me) for drowning your chicken in heat. Don't worry, they've got Cholula as well. Also, I love the effort in naming this menu item. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the jalapeño rosemary syrup on the online menu was only regular maple syrup IRL. Overall, the waffles are quite dense so it adds a good balance of hot 'n' sweet. ** THE SERVICE ** Servers at The Six were attentive. Food was delivered quickly. There were frequent check-ins with various staff members at each of the tables. The wait staff worked well together, covering each other's duties -- that was nice to see. ** THE VIBE ** There are lots of Instagram-worthy backdrops and charming little signs strewn around the restaurant. The decor and vibe give a nod to the "Society of Six" artists from the 1920s Prohibition era, who lived together in a cabin in Northern California that they dubbed the "Chow House", where they inspired each other in creating art. The reclaimed wood planks and cast iron skillets are used as plates on several menu items as a subtle accent and cozy, cabin vibe. I imagine twinkle lights add to the effect during the evening time. Next time I want to shovel brunch into my pie hole like a bottomless mimosa glass, I'll come back for the Apple Pie French Toast. That's with a side of bacon (not the bacon inside the French toast as the menu writeup may suggest). I hear that the cinnamon apple pie filling is amazing. I guess I'll have to come back for seconds and pair it with a bottomless Mimosa for $25 (avail Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 3pm).

The brick barrel vaulted ceiling that runs the length of the restaurant really adds to the ambiance of this place. Out of the seven dishes, only two were not as flavorful as expected.
