From the moment we met Jesse, we knew there was something special about him. He walked through our home to get a sense of our style and then asked where we spend most of our time. We told him, "At the kitchen sink." He wanted to make sure that when we looked out the kitchen window, our view would be the most pleasing. No one else even considered these things. What mattered most though in designing our back yard was getting to know us--not our favorite color or design style, but us as people. When we saw the renderings, we were blown away. He gave us a view of our backyard that we couldn't have imagined. Once the project got started, we were impressed with how well the team worked, the quality of their work and how responsive Jesse and his team were. Jesse took our backyard from a 1980's wasteland to a Balinese resort, complete with a sunken fire pit, a floating bar top and pots that pour out water and flicker with fire. It is striking and bold, yet soothing and tranquil, at the same time. We gave him free reign to choose accessories, tiles, plants, vases, etc., as we knew he'd choose the best options for us. I just completed the design phase of my project and so far working with Calimingo has been a wonderful experience. Mark was at my home taking photos and measurements within a few days of my paying for the design service. He measured every single horizontal and vertical surface outside and photographed the entire property. Additionally, he was friendly and knowledgeable about the design process assuring me that Adam, my assigned designer, would be a great person to work with and an amazing designer. And he was right. Adam took a photo of a pool I liked and modified it to work in my space. He created 3D renderings that included my outdoor fireplace which I am in the process of rebuilding and made suggestions for the hardscape in that area so that I could see how the entire space would flow. I greatly appreciated that he went to this effort when Calimingo is not even doing that portion of the job! There were a few changes that I wanted made to the pool design and Adam made them for me while I watched during our Zoom meeting. We talked about the design, scale, and symmetry. Wow! We just finished a complete reconstruction on our backyard hard and soft scape and it turned out fantastic! Plans can only show an idea. These guys made it come to life. An Oasis. At first it took me a while to hire them because they were a little more expensive than some of the people that were coming by to give me estimates. I took my time to make my decision. After some veryyyyy heavy rains that we do not normally experience in the beginning of the year, I realized I had some water coming in through my La Catina doors (installed on the room addition) - I reached out to Calimingo to point me in the right direction since it's been 5 years since they did the work thinking they'd have a recommendation for me.
