I really had a good experience with these guys. Miguel was super professional and answered all my calls and texts leading up to the move. In the future I'd book directly through them as they give you the same price when bringing their own truck which cost me $50 at UHaul. I had hopes that my 1 bedroom apartment would only take the 2 hours as I was only putting it in storage but each move is different. Even though I have 2 elevators in my building they are slow and the hallway is long. Sometimes house moves are quicker because it's garage to garage directly. All in all, it took about 5 hours but Miguel only charged me for 4.5 and didn't charge me for the wrapping and blankets as he knew I was way over budget. I felt bad as the extra hours came out of some of the tip I had planned on giving them but overall these guys are great. I will use in the future. read more

WARNING... IT'S A SCAM! Miguel Rodriguez and his CaliSouth Moving team are NOT real movers. Don't let them fool you. In fact, I'm not sure that they're even human. They land somewhere between superheroes and Cirque du Soleil contortionists. This is not normal. We initially hired a different moving company, but they didn't show up. (Can you believe that?!) Called CaliSouth Movers. Miguel and his team drove over in a flash. It was beyond last minute, on a Sunday night, and raining. They literally saved the day. When it comes to moving, I'm a paranoid control freak and was terrified something would break, disappear, get dirty, or touch the cesspool of an alley outside our old DTLA building, but there were NO problems or issues. In fact... They took the utmost care of our fragile items and protected all of our furniture. They effortlessly carried the heaviest (I mean HEAVIEST) Restoration Hardware dining table and Cali King mattress and magically maneuvered everything into an elevator with grace and ease. (I've never witnessed anything like it before. They moved so quickly and in sync. It must have been choreographed.) They were polite and respectful. They were swift and efficient. They were inexpensive. They are NOT real movers. There's no way. Good luck figuring it out. You've been warned. read more

I had a really good experience with this company and Miguel. I got them through u-haul's "moving help" feature. I wasn't expecting much because the last time I went that way, I got rude and careless movers. I wasn't picky because I just needed two guys to pick up my u-box, bring it over to my new apartment, and unload it, and of course return the u-box to the store. I was pleasantly surprised with Miguel and his team, and I'm pretty sure I found my new moving guy! Right out of the gate, they were responsive and helpful. I got a call from Miguel before I even finished my phone conversation with the U-haul rep. I hardly had to think, didn't take care of any details myself, and my stuff was in my apartment before I knew it. Oh, and did I mention that I called that same day? I really wanted them to hurry up and get there because I wanted them to finish before I had to pick my son up from school. This wasn't a problem for them. They were literally sprinting down the long hallway to my apartment. Seriously, when they move your stuff, they run, but don't worry, they were extremely consciensious. Miguel and his crew were awesome. I hired them through Uhaul to help unload a 26 foot Uhual into a storage unit. They were fast, efficient, and very efficient at stacking and arranging my stuff to maximize the usage of storage space. Miguel wrapped and protected my good furniture. He even sold me furniture pads at $3 a piece where the storage unit place wanted $15 a piece. Not sure if $3 is a good price but it sure beat $15 a piece, lol.. Miguel was awesome! I originally scheduled him to help unload at 6pm on a Friday, but my moving truck was very delayed. Miguel offered to unload at 9pm, but when my truck wasn't going to arrive until 10:30pm, he offered to come at 6am Saturday morning! Miguel and his crew were a dreamer to work with. They truly went above and beyond; they rushed to finish the job after a traffic delay pushed the job back. They took their time to repair some things that had been damaged in the moving trailer (which was not their fault because we had packed it). Miguel and his partner were pleasant and respectful. It was easy to schedule an appointment, even only a couple of days in advance. However, the movers were not very careful with my furniture. A few items ended up scratched (despite the blankets and plastic wrap), a lamp broke, and one of the guys made a large dent in my hardwood floor when dropping a tool. In addition, the blankets were so dirty that when the movers dragged my furniture up the staircase and into the bedrooms, they left lots of black streaks all along the freshly cleaned carpet and newly painted walls. They did not offer to reimburse me for any of the damage. I decided not to pursue the issue, but I would not hire them again. read more

I would not give this company any stars what so ever. The ONLY reason they got a star; it was required for posting. They completely destroyed my walls and my wood stairs. When they were asked to fix it - they did a half a$$ job. They trick you, making you think that they will replace the stairs/fix them. Well they didn't and when you call to complain they say oh i am very busy idk when i will be able to get there - now they do not/ will not return any of my calls.
