They have had our truck for 3months. We were told 2months ago that it would be ready in two weeks and were required to pay half the repair costs at that point, but they keep giving us excuses as to why it's going to take longer. We have taken many vehicles to them for repair over the years but have never been treated this poorly. They keep telling us they are busy and backed up. If that is the case, they should have never made an appointment for us to come in 3months ago. With the lack of communication and work being completed, we can't help but feel there's something else going on with our money or vehicle. Highly do NOT recommend them. read more

Looking into a possible lawsuit with these guys. They had told me that they needed to repair my fuel tank and put a lock on it to fix my purge valve. Well I showed them the $20 part on auto zone and they said that's not going to fix my purge valve. I told them I really don't have a lot of money as I'm moving across country. They said I will not make it if they do not fix my car. Well long behold, they replaced my fuel tank and $1400 later the problem was still not fixed. I then told them and they said tough luck. I drove across country as I had to leave literally right when they gave me back my car (they had it for 2 weeks.) every single fast station I stopped at I had to purge the excess fumes and sit there for 30 minutes as my car did so. I then made it to my destination went to auto zone spent 20 minutes and replaced my own purge valve. My car magically worked perfectly. These guys are fat chumps. Don't be scammed by their dirty business. These ugly no good, lying, rotten, stealing, cheating, no gym, all donut diet, greasy, burnt out druggies should never touch your vehicle. I can't say enough good about Callahan Auto without writing a short novel! My first experience was when my truck began making a strange noise and I just pulled into Callahan to see if they could help identify the sound. They had a mechanic hop right into the truck with me to drive around and duplicate the noise and had me back on the road in no time with my issues resolved. I've returned to them several times since. Last week, I brought my truck in for routine brake work and when the wrong parts were delivered to their shop delaying my truck, they all stayed late working on it to get it to me out the same day as promised. I want to also note that Callahan Auto charged me $200 less that the quote I received from Firestone. These are only a few examples of the professional and courteous work I've received from Preston and his team at Callahan Auto and Diesel.  There is a good reason they are still thriving during these crazy times in the economy! used this auto shop for a engine rebuild. I bought the engine, had it shipped to auto shop. Auto shop received engine, installed it. 8 months later engine goes out. The company I bought the engine from had a 5 yr/100,000 warranty on engine, but I can't use it! You know why?.....Wait for it.... Wait for it....... Because the auto shop did not send in the warranty after the install as required. #really Auto shop refused to make it right, now I'm out of close to $5,000 Buyer Beware! read more

Took in my car because of a check engine light after charging me 1,500 bucks they claimed it was fixed and a few days later it came on again so I went back and they charged me again! Then I moved and guess what check engine light back on, called them to tell them the light is back on for the THIRD time and they said they'd call me back with a mechanic in my area.....NO response DO NOT GO HERE will upcharge you, take your money then ghost you... very sad and disrespected by this place read more

If you want mechanics that know what there doing, come here. Unfortunately, they will blow you off and keep making excuses of why they haven't even looked at your car to give you one of their high estimates. My experience was not a good one. I just told the girl that answered the phone, I can't wait anymore, and I was coming in to pick up my vehicle. When I got there the guy accused me of telling off their receptionist, and this is without finding out my side. Completely unprofessional! read more

We have used Callahans for quite a few issues with our cars but not anymore. The last few months we had been having some overheating issues and found that our thermostat that Callahans replaced was installed incorrectly. Worked on my sons diesel... now to start it you have to get out open the hood flick a lever while the ignition is in the on position.... they claimed they had nothing to do with it... but it was not that way when we dropped it off....and they don't want to take responsibility for it.... wants to charge us to fix it...... be careful terrible customer service......don't waste your time read more

Please do not take your car here. My girlfriend was a personal friend of this guy, Preston Callahan, who owns this shop. Her car broke down with transmission problems. He told her over the phone that he would take the car and do diagnostics for free. Then I called him and he told me the same over the phone that it would be free to look at. Well we tow it to his shop and he tears the whole transmission apart. It took 7 days to look at. I call him on the 6th day and he said it would be between $800 and $1300, which is quite a range, but it wouldn't be more than this. He comes back 2 days later and says it will cost $1500. I then told my girlfriend to call him and have him put the car together we are not doing it as the car is worthless and not worth even the repair. He then tells us we need to pay a $175 diagnostic fee after he said it was free. So here I'm stuck because he will put a mechanics lean on the car and take it otherwise. Then my girlfriend went down there and he has told her to pay off her title loan and give him the title and he will fix the car and sell it for $2000 and give us $300 of it. Is he nuts? I am not giving him the title without seeing any money. I guess I am stuck paying the fee to get the car outta there. At least I won't have to put up with him any longer. I would hate for anyone else to have to go through this. read more

The worst decision I ever made was bringing my truck here! If you value your vehicle and don't have a lot of money to spend on fixing their incompetent and negligent mistakes ( there will be A LOT) then send your vehicle somewhere else! The tow truck broke my steering column which isn't their fault, however I just replaced the entire front suspension and steering components and it still hasn't been the same since. I had to take my vehicle back multiple times to fix the steering and suspension problems as a result. A 2-3 week new engine swap turned into a 3 month disaster! When my vehicle was ready to be picked up, wires and cables were hanging under the truck, numerous engine bolts were barely even on, they cracked the dashboard and broke the drivers door controls holster( so when you try to press the unlock button or to roll a window down, all the buttons fall into the door panel), the truck now had a violent death wobble, the alignment and steering were off really bad, the steering controls did not work. We have had problems since with the new clutch they also put in, making the truck jump in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and reverse gears. 1 year since and we found that they clamped the metal oil return hose from the new turbo back to the engine restricting more then 60% of fluid movement, 4 of 8 engine bolts that hold the engine to the engine mounts had fallen out and the remaining 4 bolts were barely threaded on. I believe they never torqued these down at all and has damaged my oil pan, brackets and engine mounts now. 1 side had a partial bolt remaining and was twisting the engine back and forth as a result. The A.C. didn't work when we received the truck back and have had problems with it ever since (we never had these problems prior). We found numerous bolts had fallen off or were loose on the control arms and suspension that they "fixed" as a result of the damage done from the tow truck that had not been torqued down to specs as I had done months prior. Since finding the massive amount of negligent issues I refuse to send it back to them for repair giving them more opportunities to cause even more damage. I am no mechanic but I am pretty good at fixing most things on my truck and I rather pay for new parts and fix the problem myself or pay a reputable mechanic shop to fix Callahan's damage. I even had another mechanic shop rebuild an engine for my other truck and not 1 single issue. Please inform yourself about this company, they have numerous horrible reviews and scam alerts if you look online that warn you about their negligent services from a whole lot of anger customers that will never return! read more
