Last weekend, I had a pinhole leak in a copper pipe. I shut off the cold water at the main valve but that meant only hot water showers and manually refilling the toilet tank after every flush. Amazing service and work. I had another plumber come to attempt to loosen frozen set screw. Couldnt budge and quoted me $3500 to go they bedroom drywall to get to and cut pipe. Oscar came after I told him I was going to do a remodel instead. He said he wanted to try. Free assessment. Oscar came and quoted me almost $900 for repair and hardware. Took him about two hours to drill and tap out the screw and then charged me $640. I've never had someone invoice me lower than what they quoted me. I am so happy with Romo Plumbing, I won't use anyone else now. Let me tell you why: 1. Great work. The people who sold my house to me had re-done the plumbing, and it was all wrong. Pipes were undersized, there was no trap in the laundry room so we got the sewer smell backed up, and the gas line wasn't buried so rats could eat through it. The guys worked for 2 weeks, just about all day every day. They didn't work for an hour, and then run to another job. They stayed with mine until they were done. 2. Minimized Disruption. Plumbing comes with noise, but these guys did everything they could not to disrupt our lives. When they had to shut the water off, they did it for one day and told us a day ahead of time. I work from home and they basically stayed out of my way the whole time while getting their work done. 3. Professional. They told me when they would show up the next day, and showed up on time every day. They are dressed nicely, and spoke politely and professionally. Don't misunderstand: they are expensive. But you don't want to leave your house's plumbing to amateurs. These guys are professionals, and I can't speak highly enough about them. read more

Transition to a tankless water heater With concerns of an aging traditional standing water heater and wanting a more efficient natural gas heater, I called Romo Plumbing, my go-to for many years. Scheduled an appointment with Maria for a consultation; Alan and partner arrived on time and conducted an inspection leading up to a suggested brand and model of a tankless water heater, and we moved forward with install. They thoroughly examined the issue and provided an estimate and offered to do it same day or I could book another day. They also explained why the leak was caused and I appreciate the insight. Found my local plumber. We needed to replace a section of 1.5" piping under our house. We contacted three plumbers for estimates. Two of them lied saying they would need two guys digging for two days to remove all of our in-ground pipes and total it would be a four day job north of $5k. Problem is our pipes aren't in-ground. Romo came in, told us the truth, and it took two courteous plumbers a few hours at the fraction of the price. There were great reviews, and since I didn't have a "go to" plumber, I decided to give them a try setting up an appointment for the next morning between 9-10am. Two very nice guys who were friendly, professional and wearing masks arrived at 9am on the dot. They worked diligently through a very blocked sink and cleaned up thoroughly when the job was finished. His guy came out and told me I needed a new sewer line and he might be able to come back on Monday or Tuesday. I first used Romo Plumbing in November of 2015 when my plumber was unavailable. They came out and fixed the clogged sink within a couple hours. They were extremely clean, professional and they did a wonderful job! I haven't had an issue since then. Yesterday, our washer caused major issues and being that our house is really old we figured it was a serious issue with old plumbing. They did all they could do but they had to call a different company to use cameras since the pipes were completely blocked by tree roots or ivy. I would've given 5 stars but the company they referred is questionable regarding costs. Romo seems very reliable and reasonable so I'm worried that they trust this company they referred us to too much. Do your homework before trusting ANYONE. I have apartment units and I'm not new to fair plumbing repair costs. I recently purchased units in San Pedro. I was looking for an honest, reasonable plumber in the area. I usually pay around $400 for a water heater and between $250 and $350 for installation, depending on the size of the unit. Romo's estimate was $1400 to $1600 for a 30 Gal. unit - Highway Robbery. If they are charging over $1000 for installation, they very well better provide a heavenly experience... They are on my Do not call list. Get three estimate people! read more
