I'd like to start by saying we may have caught them at a bad or busier than usual time. I wish I had an opportunity to go again to know & not post this review, but I was traveling & wont be back anytime soon. When we entered the ordering system was very confusing. Rather than work left to right like most long narrow service counter delis, their ordering window was to the right end farthest from the door & then you paid at the window closest to the door, meaning you finish ordering right where new people are walking in & confused about what they flow is. That was awkward & didn't make any sense to us, given the customer traffic jams it created. I odered a gourmet grilled cheese with a fruit cup & chips on the side, as well as a bottled water & a summer ale from a brewery in Portland, ME. It was outrageous & I never fully received an explanation for why it cost $26 (way more than the cost on the board). It also took FOREVER to get our food. They served both with a large juicy pickle on the tray when we asked for no pickle. When we mentioned it at food pick-up, the person giving us our food just shook his head & reached over & pulled it off the tray. I was shocked but hungry & just took the pickle juice soaked sandwiches. The sandwich was good overall & the fruit was fresh, but we were so frustrated with the process of getting it, it wasn't easy to enjoy. We did enjoy the view of the harbor & being a short walk from the water. All in all I was disappointed, but I do hope we caught them on a bad day. read more

They were absolutely soggy with salsa which leave the eggs gooey. The cupcakes were dry and hard. They had little taste. The total was $50 for these items. Our usual breakfast destination before driving home to CT, Camden Deli never disappoints. It's baffling that there are always long lines of folks waiting to be seated at next door's Marriners Restaurant (fans of "Peyton Place"?), while Camden Deli is half empty. The food is consistently solid, & the views from the deck are identical to that of the Marriner's. Sure, Camden Deli deserves to be packed, too, but my wife & I always enjoy the quiet & intimacy having breakfast on their deck. Thanks, guys! read more

We have been here twice with varying service experiences. The first visit was not great - wrong food delivered, long wait time, incorrect order details, and just OK food quality. Our second visit was much better. This is one of the few places that was actually open later in the afternoon during pre-season. Most other places in the area close at 3PM. This deli has become a great before or after stop for my outdoor adventures in Camden. It's across the street from the sporting goods shop which makes it easy if I need something from there too! Their chicken pesto sandwiches are delicious and they have fresh ice teas and other snacks you can pick up to get refreshed. During my last trip, we started here and grabbed a quick bite while checking our trail maps before hitting the State Park. The food and service is consistent (but can take a bit longer when they're super busy at lunch times).i also found them to have several items that are picky and healthy eater friendly. The real win here though it the view! Even if you're grabbing something to go, don't miss the gorgeous view of the Camden harbor out the window. This place was the most unsuspecting gem in a town full of incredible experiences, food, shopping and more. Truth be told, we landed here at an awkward time in the afternoon when it wasn't lunch and it wasn't dinner. Mom and my old(est) sister arrived after barely escaping a locked shoppe below...& they, too ordered drinks. The pandemic has created some staffing shortages at restaurants and shoppes - we should all be patient and kind. What? This place was amazing! There was a Cuban sandwich, a Monte Cristo, other sandwiches that screamed "eat me! Pick me!" With a quick poll, my family and I decided that Natalie's would just have to wait. I rescheduled the rezzie for a few days later. We had the Cuban, Monte Cristo(s), and a turkey on focaccia. More drinks. More Nick. More of that amazing view! We returned a few days later (again pre-Natalie's and after a sailing adventure on the Schooner Jack II). It was that good. We *had* to go back! My wife and I had lunch here on the 4th of July and were seated upstairs on the deck. Wonderful view. My wife had a wonderfully large salad with lots of chicken and I had a roastbeef sandwich which was on a baguette-type bread. Delicious and pleantiful. I have eaten here several times over the years. What impressed me this time was the wait staff. The three young women were friendly, smiling, efficient and hard working. If only there were a zero stars option... My father and I are both life long Mainer's and Camden is the favorite stop of ours and of my late mother's. After two years separated through the pandemic, we were excited to come back and stop in for lunch. We ordered our sandwiches from the counter for Myself, Dad, my son and fiancé and sat at a table downstairs. It was extremely smokey and my father has lung issues, so we walked back to the counter and asked if we could collect our food and sit upstairs. We were told no die to the upstairs being reserved for service only. I asked if we could open the deck sliders to ventilate the dining area and was told no, bc the air condition was on. (It was 67 degrees outside...) After speaking with the manager about my fathers lung issues and offering to provide generous gratuity to the server, I was told no. I was told there was a sign outside. The sign said "Come on in, the deck is open." After the most difficult of years and the ongoing issues with my father mad the pandemic, I believe it's imperative the most basic level of consideration for others be observed. As a Mainer, I pride myself on treating others throughout the world with respect and understanding. This establishment has neither. On principal, I would encourage others who travel through Camden to avoid this once great establishment. I expect more from the people of this beloved State... read more

I had an Odal ( chicken, cheddar, roasted peppers and grilled onion on grilled sourdough): oh, it was so good. My sister had the Fantastic Focaccia ( chicken, havarti, roasted peppers, grilled onions and pesto on grilled focaccia): she loved it. Each sandwich came with a small bag of potato chips and a pickle. I got there just before closing so I really didn't check out the restaurant. I walked by it the next day and looked in: I was struck by the amazing view they have of the harbor. If their breakfast sandwiches are as good as the ones we had, this would be a great place to start your day in Camden. Also, need to add that the staff were all extremely nice. Food Safety Concern I've never had to post a review of this nature. We were there for lunch on a Saturday in October. It was busy and so we waited quite a while in the front for our order to be ready. The problem was that while waiting we noticed that the young woman who was taking the orders and handling cash was also taking pickles out of a pickle jar and chips out of big chip bags and putting them in the meal baskets for people to eat. She did this repeatedly, with her bare hands, and then would go back to dealing with cash and other forms of payment. She never washed her hands or put on gloves. We looked for some sort of person in charge, but there did not seem to be anyone. We left without picking up our order as we did not feel comfortable confronting the woman and did not want to eat the food. If you don't know, cash is very "dirty" and carries a lot of germs. I sent an email to the Camden Deli Management a week prior to posting this review. I thought I would get a response that they were taking care of this somehow. I heard absolutely nothing back from them so I am posting the information regarding my observations here. read more
