Walking through the door, you will be smitten with Patrick (Irish ) greeting everyone and taking the orders. The food did not disappoint ~ we had the clam chowder (), followed by an Italian sub and lobster roll (best price and tastiest that we had so far, 3rd one to be fair). I love this place SO much. I recently took the family on a trip to Maine. We only had one day in Bar Harbor and Acadia, but our trip was 100% planned so the timing allowed us to get to Bar Harbor at just the right moment to, well, get lunch at Lunch. Their sandwiches are incredibly tasty and creative. But my god, their clam chowder is to DIE for. So, so, so good. Plus, really nice atmosphere in their little establishment and the staff is so friendly. Cannot recommend this place enough. Wish I could be there more. read more

This was exactly what I was craving for lunch!! It has the most perfect lunch sandwiches. I ordered the #2 panini with grilled tandoori chicken and roasted garlic aioli. It was delicious! Perfect crisp and crunch of the bread with the wonderful garlic aioli. Inside has some places to sit and it is cute inside. The food took about 10-15 minutes to come out. Prices were very fair for ~$13 for the sandwich. I left so happy and wanted to come back! Love it here! read more

If you're looking for a great sandwich, this place is absolutely worth a stop. I had the Italian #2 and the wife had the italian #3 and they were incredible--fresh, loaded with flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. A really solid option for a quick pop-through sandwich when you want something good with enough selection for one or a small group. The menu gives you things from normal to exploratory fusion flavors. Solid bread options and a way to get what you want without being a chain. The one tip we found was to, if eating on the go, wait for your food outside as there is a bit of a likelihood you will pick up some of the grill smell quickly with how their airflow was. Solid stop; we were happy on the pick. Nearby other good pop-throughs making it a good location to use chaining to stores or sister shops. read more

Stopped by here for lunch while we were wandering around Bar Harbor. Lunch Bar Harbor is nestled in the midst of the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. We were in the hunt for highly rated lobster rolls and this place came up. It's an order at the counter situation and they'll call out your name to pick up your food. They have seating inside but it is limited and pretty basic (ie: this isn't a place you go to for the atmosphere). My dining companion and I ordered lobster rolls, a cup of clam chowder to share, and potato salad to share. The lobster rolls are made Maine style (cold, lightly mayo coated lobster salad served on a toasted split roll). They had ample lobster and were tasty. The potato salad was also solid. The clam chowder was seriously out-of-this-world. It was absolutely the star of the show. I'll be dreaming about that chowder when it's the middle of winter in Wisconsin. The service was a little short and not overly friendly--but I get it. It's the end of the tourist season and folks could just be a bit tired. Was in Bar Harbor Maine and in the downtown area and ate down there but I wanted to try something a little further out of the main area and we found this restaurant. The menu is small and their hours are during lunch. I saw they had a good rating so we waited for them to open. I had the clam chowder and lobster roll and my wife had the #1 Italian sandwich with potato salad. I didn't know what to expect on the lobster roll but it tasted plain to me. But the clam chowder was very tasty and I would get it again. My wife's lunch was good. She couldn't finish the sandwich so I got the other half, did I say the lobster roll was small? Nice little sandwich restaurant. The gentleman who took our order was originally from Ireland. He had a great personality and was super friendly. I got the #1 Italian sandwich along with a side of macaroni salad. My wife got the #3 Italian sandwich along with a side of potato salad. The sandwiches were very good and fresh. The pasta and macaroni salad were okay. There is only one restroom for either men or women. The door didn't quite shut properly but the restaurant was located in an older building. My family and I loved our experience here! The guy at the register was very friendly & helpful as we ordered. He gave us free samples of their soup of the day which was good. We all got paninis that were sooo good! I went with the #6 which was a triple cheese panini and my sister and dad both got the #5 which was a ham & cheese panini with apples & balsamic glaze. We also got a bag of chips to share, and everything was amazing! I would definitely return to try their Clam Chowder & the Lobster Salad Panini! The only thing that could be improved is the bathroom situation was a little dingy, but I still think this place earns 5 stars! read more

A soup and sandwich shop with a set menu, it offers paninis and a variety of deli sandwiches. The gentleman that takes your order rings you up, dishes out your soup, answers the phone, and calls out your name, delivering your sandwich to you. If you're looking to bring a sandwich or other picnic oriented items with you to one of the many scenic spots in and around Bar Harbor, you can't go wrong with Lunch Soup & Sandwich. We phoned in an order (they're order online option appears to be broken) for the Italain #1 and the Special #2. We added drinks and potato salad. The we heads for Jordon Pond in Acadia National Park. The sandwiches were great and the potato salad was very good. We'll do it again the next time we're up that way for sure. Pro tip: If you're phone in an order, ask them about the specials. This is an order at the counter and find a seat place which was honestly nice to avoid the wait times if you're a big party. Everyone's sandwich was delicious and fresh! They're absolutely delicious when still warm and fresh out of the oven and they bake them pretty much all day, so they're just about always fresh. One of my favorite ways to enjoy them over the years was to get the maple butter and blueberry jam and mix the two. The flavors of the butter, maple and blueberry all complimented the savory flavor of the popover. However, this year I was disappointed to see that they no longer are offering the maple butter, even for an upcharge. Please bring this back, it really took the popovers to another level! Maybe whip it into thawed butter instead of hand mixing it to make it easier? The whipped butter is easier to dip in and spread anyway. The new pre-packaged / mass produced butter packs take away from the appeal of a freshly-made popover. Sometimes in the morning it can be a little crowded in here with people waiting for their coffee / drinks to be made by a counter not far from where you place your order, so if you're walking in and haven't ordered yet then check if the people standing around are just waiting on coffee or waiting to order. It would be a nice improvement to see some separation (maybe with some ropes or floor markings) to make it more clear who is in line to order and who is waiting for their beverage to be made. It's worth noting it's takeout only and there's nowhere inside to sit, but there are some benches just outside on the sidewalk where you can have your popover and coffee.

The scallion at least was buttery inside, the blueberry scone was so dry and overcooked. The blueberry bread was also surprisingly tasteless and almost wet inside. Definitely Not what we expected from a professional bakery. Coffee meh but matcha reasonable. Egg sandwich was the family favorite and the savior of the bad breakfast.

While you don't get a water view, but a cute walk down the main drag, it is WELL worth the excursion AND HOW. My husband said his Crabby Patty was the best crab cake sandwich he ever had. I agreed in as I had the cake as an app. I also got a Halibut dish with pickled fiddleheads (a local green I might liken to okra for lack of other reference) and blistered tomatoes. It was moist, well cooked fish, amazing sides with phenomenal heightening elements. We also enjoyed our cocktails immensely. While the price for lobster here is cheaper than most places, my lobster ended up being very rubbery. Partner ordered a pineapple ginger juice, and it was VERY heavy on the ginger and tasted "off", like drinking kimchi. I didn't care for the sweet potato mash, it did not go with the dish (lobster) at all, but the cucumbers were ok. Portions were uneven. My friends got the same lobster as I did, and yet they got significantly less lobster. Finally, while I know this wasn't a restaurant problem, I feel as they failed to act accordingly. One of my friends went to go to the restroom, and saw a man laying down on the floor. Staff were notified, but the staff seemingly did nothing; we asked the staff for an update and they just shrugged us off (because we were concerned for that man). If you're wanting to try lobster for the first time, DONT come here - spend a little bit extra on more reputable places, because this place was not it.

It was not worth the $42 entree price for it. Overall it's worth trying but don't expect spectacular, and plan to walk out with a tshirt.

It was a little surprised that a place with "roast beef" in its name would be out of roast beef on a Sunday afternoon until the explained that the are closed on Mondays and cook their own roasts (2 a day) and serve until sold out on Sundays so the sandwich meat is fresh when the reopen on Tuesday. Amazing. I had a Baja smash burger and my wife had an Olin smash burger both with caramelized onions. Both were excellent. Fresh - not frozen patties - and it showed. Fries were really good too. I'll be back later in the week to try their roast beef sandwich and see if it lives up to the "legend" name.
