Service department is definitely full of scandalous service techs. Was given a list of service request on my car in which only has 33,000 miles on it. Was told these services are a must as my car is a performance vehicle. It's when I told him no it's a Toyota Avalon in no way is it a performance vehicle. The pic below is off issues they said needed to be done and if I didn't get it done soon it would void the warranty on the battery. I told them I would get a second opinion as I've never heard of anything so stupid from Toyota. I went to a dealership closer to my house vs one closer to my job and was told that these services aren't done until later on around 55, - 60k miles. They have a "no-deposit" policy, so you have to stay in touch to be "first in line" for a car. We were in contact with our dealer for two months, and she kept reassuring us that we'd get notified as soon as the car we wanted arrived. Well, it turns out that the friendly salespeople aren't the ones calling the shots. It's the managers, and they don't seem to care about keeping promises or being fair. Here's what happened to us: After two months of waiting and negotiating, we thought we had everything sorted out. But then, out of nowhere, I found out that a car intended for another family was sold without contacting them by mistake. To fix their problem, the manager gave them our car--the one we had been waiting for and thought was ours. And they did it without even checking with our dealer first. I was so upset. Summer's coming, and we needed that car. Now we're back to square one, scrambling to find another one, while the dealership just shrugs it off like it's no big deal. Every time I come to their service department they try to upsell at least $500 of bs maintenance services that I've done outside of their dealership at a fraction of their prices. The service is always done at least 30 minutes after the eta. I only went this second visit because I had a $50 gift certificate from the last visit. Our insurance gave us $20k for the totaled car and my daughter got approved for a loan though our credit union. We are already pre approved for our loan through our credit union and we show the paperwork to Sergio and his boss. I tell him that I'll buy the car if they will be willing to tint the windows at no cost to me. He said he agreed. We wait about 20 min and this douchebag manager Tyler gives Sergio this vehicle purchase info sheet to give to us. Check out the "dealer added accessories". $7,292 in DEALER ADDED ACCESSORIES!!!! I told Sergio that he wasted our entire day. I gave him a budget and clearly he didn't understand the assignment. Clearly his thinks I'm an idiot. I asked, "What accessories did you add? Is there crack in the trunk? Is there diamonds in the glovebox?" I have nothing but good things to say about the way Payden treated my son and the way he worked to get him a good deal on the vehicle. Payden made sure he knew the vehicle inside and out, and that he was acclimated with the various features before he took possession of it. I went into the dealership at the end of my lease to complete the buyout. The service manager tried to tell me that an inspection was mandatory in order to purchase the vehicle and would cost $760. Of course I pointed out that nowhere in my contract was stipulated, and that I wouldn't be paying it, it also clearly states on Toyota financials website that inspections are complementary and optional. I went online and made a 5 pm service appointment. The online booking system encourages afternoon appointments by offering a discount. When I arrived (early), I was told that there was no way they could get my car in and that they usually needed 4-5 hours. Though that makes some sense, they wouldn't even acknowledge that it was a problem that the online booking allowed me to make that appointment (I even put exactly what needed service in the booking). All they could say was that they could make me an appointment for another day. First off I set a budget for myself, the salesman was able to go $3,000 above my set budget. Thus my loan was then denied, so the next day I had to come back into the dealership. This is after I explained my the amount was over my loan budget. They told me and I quote, "you'll be alright don't worry about it." I had to waste two days at the dealership to buy my truck. The sales department was the typical high pressure pushy type. At one point I even asked for my trade in truck back, because I didn't want to give them my business. Instead they brought out two of the higher up sales people to tell me my trade in truck had already been listed into their inventory, and I couldn't have it back. This was only 30-45 minutes into the sale, and before I had signed anything. Against my better judgment, and because I was growing frustrated I agreed to buy the new truck. Then they assured me it was certified pre owned and had been through their 500 point inspection. This is interesting to me, because I found three problems with the truck within a day of owning it. The major one is that the back windshield leaks, and not just a little leak. It gushes water down the seams where a roof rack would be placed rolling into the interior of the truck. Next would be the terrible rattle in the driver side door it sounds like it's inside of the door handle. Finally would be the missing weatherstripping on the passenger side rear door. For their "500 point inspection" they sure missed some easily noticeable problems. All in all this location was the worst. The inspection was obviously a joke they just say they do to make people feel good about buying their product. The sales department was unconcerned with "earning" my business instead assumed it was theirs already. For lack of a better expression. When I tried to take my business away from them, the salesman went and "cried to daddy" for the two managers to come and save him. A month ago I bought a 2021 3.0 Toyota Supra. The day I drove it off the lot I immediately noticed a weird whining noise coming from either the engine or the turbo. The next day I came in to service to get the car checked out and ended up just waiting on nothing for 3.5hrs. I did what anyone else would do and left but made sure to document with my salesman and service that there was an issue with this car that needed to be looked at. A few weeks go by as I'm driving on the highway the sound exponentially gets worse, I have 0 power to push the car forward and the engine cuts on me and a ton of burnt oil/ white smoke came pouring out of the exhaust. I nearly thought the car was on fire. I was able to coast off the highway to a safe spot on an on ramp. I sat there trying to figure out what was going on. Checked my car out and didn't seem anything out of the ordinary and even checked the engine. There was no starting the car to put it in neutral, couldn't put the car in park, couldn't do anything! Called roadside assistance and got the vehicle towed to the nearest Toyota dealership. This happened September 26, 2023 not even a month after I bought the car. It is now October 10th 14 days after the car has been towed and I have received not a single email/ text message from anyone at camelback Toyota that can actually assist with what's going on. I have no status on my car or if it's going to be fixed. I had to buy 2 flights back from where I was with the car including paying for my own rental which cost me significantly more as I'm under 21. I am not one to leave a review like this. I just have no option on what there is left to do. I documented everything that went wrong with this car and in return have had 0 communication. Buying a new car is a daunting task to say the least. I swear every person I would talk to about wanting a new car felt pity for me having to go to a dealership to purchase. Although the classic view of dealerships is unnecessary waiting time, slimy sales representatives, and cheap gimmicks, Toyota Camelback does NOT fit this paradigm.   I had been looking to buy a RAV-4 hybrid for the last three year and getting the car I wanted with all of the technology I expected, at a price I was comfortable with was something I was nervous about. RAV-4 hybrids are quite literally flying off the lot. During my first visit to Camelback Toyota, Shane Henry took the time to listen to my needs and help me pin point exactly what I was looking for. Although Shane tried to help me find a vehicle during my first visit, every car I tried to view sold before we could look at it. Shane was understanding and knew that I needed a car that fit all of my expectations and did not make me feel forced in to a deal. Instead, Shane took the time to write down my wish list and expectations to ensure that once a car that fit my needs was available, they would reach out.   A month after my visit I received a call from Ian letting me know that a RAV-4 hybrid was available and invited me to come down and view it. Unfortunately, by the time I got to the dealership the car was already sold. From this point, I began working with Mayra to look at other hybrids on the lot. I was feeling like I would have to call it a day when Shane came back to save the day! Shane looked through the upcoming inventory and found a RAV-4 Hybrid that I had just been delivered that evening that fit all of my needs and was my dream car!! Shane and Myra worked as a sales team to help get me in to my new car with the support of their sales manager Adam and finance and contract manager Nick.   I tell this whole story as a testament to the customer service, perseverance, and care that the entire Toyota Camelback team showed me. This was truly a whirlwind adventure and I appreciate all of the support I received along the way. To say that I love my new vehicle would be an understatement; I am obsessed. First off, I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before I came in here. This is a very typical car sales experience. If you don't want to negotiate and you want to just overpay for a car, there are plenty of options these days (like carvana etc where you don't have to go through a sales/negotiation process and just pay the sticker price). Can't hate on these folks just doing their job here. Ted was my salesman. He was very honest with me about what he did and didn't know about the 4Runners I was looking at. He has lots of experience and knew a lot, but more importantly, when he didn't know the answer to my question, he found out. I appreciated his transparency and he spent a lot of time going through multiple options with me. I spent multiple hours there. I'm 4 months pregnant and was 'hangry' by the end. Ted was giving me plenty of snacks and beverages to make sure I was comfortable and even offered to order some food delivery while I waited for finance. (This was also on an extremely busy Saturday, and they were moving as fast as they could). A+ for customer service, Ted. Thanks for feeding me. Jorge is his manager. Yes, he played hardball with me and we went back and forth with negotiations. The entire process was respectful and straight forward. It was a TYPICAL car sales negotiation. the dealership uses intimidation, threats and good cop/bad cop method to force customers to sign the deal. I visited 3 times because I was choosing between a Prius or camry. By my 3rd visit I negotiated the price of a 2025 camry. As I was still undecisive the sales women brought out this new car manager Brandon Latour to talke to me. He yelled at me for 5 min straight of how I am wasting the sales woman's time, how I am playing with her and denying income source for a single mom trying to care for a young kid. He interrogated me over my intention whether i am looking to buy a car or not because I am wasting everyone's time. At the 2nd visit another manager also waived me off and refused to negotiate. As far as I am concern they use a criminal and ganster style to push for sales and have no regard to customer wellbeing. I will never go back to that dealership read more
