Scratches that appeared in the custody of the service department

I have serviced my truck at Camelback Toyota since I bought it, and until this visit the service was fine. This time my vehicle went in for routine service and came back with two problems: the alignment was wrong and had to be redone, and there was a deep gouge in the rear driver-side door that was not there when I dropped it off. The dealership's own intake photos show no damage at drop-off. When I raised it, the fixed operations director denied responsibility. I was first shown a blurred image, and when I asked to see the dealership's actual inspection video, I could see a mark in the exact spot the scratch is. It was dismissed as a reflection. There was no apology until I asked for one, and when I mentioned insurance the conversation turned to protecting the dealership. My advice to anyone using this service department: photograph your vehicle thoroughly, all sides, before you hand over the keys.

Horrible experience. The salesman actually scammed me out of a separate check for his commission. Never again!! Beware!!

This weekend or else for this "deal" from manager Will.

Communication. What a nightmare! They don't listen to you just read the next line in their high pressured sales game. Get you in and that's the aim. Buy this weekend or deal gone. Will, I don't appreciate your approach and 'techniques'. Not surprised that there are salespeople jobs available. There is absolutely NO WAY I'd willingly subject myself to this.

One of those stops to check out car inventory for a friend interested in a Toyota. They wanted a used car and the stock appeared to be decent. We believe Toyotas are an excellent brand name. We have one with 150k miles on it. Still runs like a champ. There is their own parking lot.

This is the review I left on google, however no one has reached out to me to apologize for their employees disgusting behavior. They only reply to the "good" reviews, clearly the reviews speak for themselves I would never step foot in this establishment. I looked up this dealership on TikTok because I wanted to see videos of the inventory and showroom, but instead I came across a live stream from an employee at this location that was completely unprofessional and had nothing to do with selling cars. The behavior on the live immediately made me question the type of environment and professionalism at this dealership. I called the dealership to report my concerns, and the person I initially spoke with was understanding. However, shortly after, I received a text message to my personal phone number from the employee involved, accusing me of harassment and telling me not to contact them again. I never contacted her personally, and I have screenshots/videos of the live that explain exactly why I called. What concerns me most is that my personal phone number appears to have been taken from dealership records or the work phone system and used to contact me directly. She even used my name in a way that felt like an attempt to intimidate me, even though I was never hiding who I was or "trolling" anyone. Reporting inappropriate behavior from a business is not harassment, and using customer information to personally confront someone is completely unacceptable and highly inappropriate. At this point, I believe someone from management needs to seriously address this situation and contact me directly. An employee using customer information this way and behaving like this publicly while representing your business is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I truly believe this employee should no longer be representing your dealership. Overall, this experience completely changed my opinion of the dealership, and I would not feel comfortable doing business here.

A lot of the things that were promised as a result of this transaction were not completed. A full tank of gas that was promised at signing was empty when I left the lot missing floor mats that I had to come back for 3 times. Went to service for the first time and asked them to honor there promise for a full tank of gas and got told "we know we said that, but it was a month ago" after the service department told me to ask.

1-Star Review - Worst Car Buying Experience I've Ever Had I bought a used Lexus LC500h from Camelback Toyota sight unseen, and I truly regret trusting this dealership. Jaden (sales), James (sales manager), and Chris (the person who buys the used cars) were the people I worked with. What I was told versus what I received were two very different things. From the beginning, I asked Jaden to send videos of the car and point out any flaws. He showed a few minor blemishes, but nothing major. I was on the fence about the car and made an offer that they declined. A couple of days later, Chris called to try to make the deal. He strongly assured me that the car was in "great condition," that he personally inspected all used cars, and that this one was "really nice." Based on his word, I proceeded with the purchase and put down almost half as a deposit. Before shipping, I asked Jaden to confirm whether the car had Apple CarPlay (some 2018 models do not). He said he would plug in a cable to check. A couple of days later, he told me it did have CarPlay. I also asked if they could wrap the exterior for protection during transport. They said yes. When the shipping company arrived, the car wasn't wrapped at all. When the car arrived, I was extremely disappointed. It had far more flaws than I was told: * Numerous scratches all over the paint * Exterior window trim literally falling out * Center console that would not open * No CarPlay -- meaning Jaden either never checked or flat-out lied * Rear seat lever broken I'm grateful the finance manager, Jean, recommended the extended warranty because I tried to get these issues repaired. But the warranty company denied the claim, stating these were preexisting conditions -- meaning the dealership already knew about them but did not disclose them, even though I specifically asked multiple times if anything was wrong. I called Chris for almost two weeks with no response. I finally reached out to Jean, who contacted the GM, Brandon, and Brandon said he'd make sure Chris called me back. Chris finally reached out, and I explained the issues. The repair quote I received was almost $2,000. The service manager at the repair center said Camelback Toyota could fix these under goodwill since they were preexisting. Chris refused and simply told me I bought the car "as-is," ignoring the fact that they weren't honest with me from the start. His only solution was offering a $300 gift card, which I accepted because it was the best they were willing to do. For transparency: James (sales manager) and Jean (finance) were the only people who treated me well and did not lie to me. Everyone else made this the worst car-buying experience I've had -- and I've bought many vehicles over the years. I also see why they have so many poor reviews. I know the owner usually replies telling people to contact their client manager, Katrina Coscarelli, but I've left her voicemails and emails with zero response. If you're considering buying a used car from Camelback Toyota, please do your due diligence. Ask for everything in writing. Do not rely on their verbal assurances. They will tell you anything to sell a car, and once the sale is done, you're on your own.

Ask the Community - Camelback Toyota

Most car salesmen, if not all, are always conning you into paying more and even remove the discounts that they promised in their ads. Am looking to buy a new prius for my wife. Is there an honest Toyota salesman that you know?

It is now Tuesday, and they have not even looked at the car. Not diagnosed. Not tested. Not touched. I called four times between Saturday and Tuesday. Every single time I was told "someone is looking at it and will call you right back." They never called back. Not once. That's not a mistake that's a pattern of lying to customers. On Monday, I physically went into the dealership because phone calls were clearly useless. I was told they would replace the EVAP purge valve and run an EVAP test. As of today, the car still hasn't moved. Zero work done. Meanwhile, I've spent more money on a rental car in six days than it would have cost to take this vehicle to a competent independent shop and fix the problem outright. The only difference? I made the mistake of trusting a Ford warranty. They are happy to sell you a warranty for $3k, $5k, or $10k, but once your car is in their possession, there is zero urgency, zero communication, and zero accountability. It genuinely feels like they think that because the repair is under warranty, your time doesn't matter. For anyone reading this: you can cancel your Ford warranty at any time and get your money back. I will be canceling mine immediately. This level of service is pathetic, and the way customers are treated is unacceptable. Avoid this service department unless you enjoy being ignored, lied to, and paying out of pocket for rentals while your car sits untouched.

Trade-in value was fair, and everything upfront felt smooth. The finance department was a different story. William Hall was friendly, but the process lacked transparency. I wasn't shown a clear breakdown of numbers and felt pressured into a ~$5,900 warranty. Despite having an 800+ credit score, I was given a 72-month loan at 7.67% APR, which didn't add up. Also noticed paint imperfections on the "new" vehicle--disappointing. They did compensate with free accessories so I appreciated that. Service department has been great, though. Advice: focus on out-the-door price, not monthly payments, and question every add-on. I canceled the warranty, got one elsewhere for much less, and refinanced at a significantly lower rate within the following month. My warranty expired 6k miles ago, and at my 60k mile service (which cost $1200) their mechanics did not properly reinstall the o-ring. The incorrect placement of this $2 part created an oil leak which caused $11,000 in damage. Subaru demanded I pay $3,000 and called it a deductible, stating they would cover the rest since the issue is due mechanic and manufacturer failures, to no fault of my own. The repairs should've taken 2-3 weeks and instead took 7 weeks. When I did finally get my car back, it was damaged, which was not documented or communicated by the dealership. The hood has rust spots, and the paint completely stripped off in several areas and bubbling in others. There is a dent in my driver door, a large scuff on my front bumper, numerous dings, dents and scratches that were not there before leaving it at Camelback Subaru. Under the hood can only be described as looking like it was left outside with the hood up for the entirety time it was in Subaru's possession. Additionally, my battery terminals are now loose and I've had to tighten them weekly since getting my car back from Camelback Subaru service. The car is in worse shape than it was when I dropped it off 7 weeks prior. I sent photos and scheduled a follow up appointment to have this new damage rectified, and was met with a nonchalant, minimizing attitude from Service advisor Ian Wooley and service manager Frank. They have both been incredibly rude throughout this ordeal, and have done all that they can to avoid accountability and repair. It has now been 2 months of trying to find resolution, and being blatantly ignored by Camelback Subaru and its management team, namely Frank and Ian. I've even emailed Eric Zimmerman, GM and have received no response. I do however, get weekly calls from their sales team to trade my car in, which I find interesting. This is a 4 year old car that was purchased from and has always been serviced by Camelback Subaru. I brought it in for service and got it back destroyed, and haven't gotten so much as a 'sorry' from the people responsible - Camelback Subaru service. Buyer beware, Camelback Subaru service will damage your vehicle, make you pay for it, damage it some more, and then claim they did nothing wrong. Then they will blacklist you for being dissatisfied or asking for any type of repair which requires them to admit fault. I will never purchase from this dealership or any other Camelback dealer again. I have serious concerns about the integrity and safety of my vehicle after it was so sorely neglected by Camelback Subaru service. Subaru's incompetence and carelessness has also greatly decreased the value of my vehicle, which they feel they bare no responsibility for. If you want a reliable vehicle that will hold its value, don't buy from Camelback Subaru. This dealership is run by crooks and liars who have zero integrity for the services they provide. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement.

Then came the advertised rebates and financing offers that apparently could not actually be combined once we sat down to discuss the deal. That immediately felt like bait-and-switch tactics. The dealership also tried adding nearly $2,000 in "mandatory" extras I never asked for, including: $100 for nitrogen in the tires Around $500 for a "KeyFetch" key replacement program Window tint and other add-ons When I questioned these charges, I was basically told, "This is what we do when we sell vehicles." Customers should not be forced into paying for unnecessary add-ons just to buy a vehicle. The financing process was even worse. Salesman Joe, the GM, and finance manager Ryan told me 5.75% through Global was the "best rate available." After checking myself, I found out customers can apply directly online and get 5.5%. Same story with GAP insurance: they attempted to charge around $1,000, but Global itself offers it for about $495. At that point it became obvious I needed to fact-check everything myself. All I wanted was a clean purchase agreement with: Advertised price Tax Title Registration Standard doc fee No forced extras. No inflated products. No games. Instead, the entire experience felt shady, misleading, and unnecessarily confrontational because I refused to be taken advantage of. Buying a vehicle should not feel like a battle over hidden fees and misleading financing information. Very frustrating experience overall.
