Do not go here or request notification from them if you are looking for specific car. We are in search of a specific truck and told them if they do get it in stock to let us know. Since that's the only one we want and set on. We get a call from Eddie saying they got some in stock. Of course we were happy and asked Eddie Mkpanam to hold it since we were driving all the way from Tucson. He assured us it will be on hold once we get there. Once we got there we waited 20mins to only find out there was no stock to begin with. Then Eddie tries to make us get a different truck that we had no interest in saying he can bring the truck to Tucson. We walked right out beyond irritated. We wanted no other truck besides the one we specified. He only wanted the sale. Wasted our time/and the drive all the way to Phoenix. Never had a salesman lie about stock and we will never come back to this location. You are better off going to Auto nation Toyota in Tempe. They are much more upfront when it comes to the stock and won't try to sell you something different. read more

I certainly was not happy when I had to take my 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 in for unplanned service on the manual transmission. With clutch fully depressed, I shifted into 6th gear the night before on the 101 and there was unusual grinding going into gear. Additionally, letting off the throttle in 6th gear also caused grinding. I bought this truck used around April 2023 from a non-Toyota dealer and do not think the failing transmission is related to Toyota's workmanship. I also do not think I am at fault given I have owned nothing but manuals (Used 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 S/R (5-speed), Used 2012 Mustang GT California Special (6-speed), New 2016 Mustang GT (6-speed), New 2019 Nissan Sentra (6-speed)) and never had such an issue with these vehicles. Nonetheless, Toyota "Headquarters" agreed to replace the manual transmission under warranty with the stipulation that I replace the clutch assembly that had abnormal wear. I had no problem with this given the clutch assembly is a normal wear item, got my truck back last night, and it drives and shifts better than it did when I first bought this used truck. Throughout this process Nemo and Joey have been extremely professional and updated me throughout the whole process. Being without a vehicle for 2-weeks without a courtesy rental for warranty work, was below my expectations and I refused to pay for a rental vehicle while my truck was receiving warranty work. I just wanted to add this in hopes that Camelback Toyota would make an adjustment to this policy to better serve their customers. A repeat customer at Camelback, my experience buying a new 2023 4Runner was disappointing. I felt very little customer service or attention to detail and definitely did not feel like a valued, repeat customer. I've lost my trust in Camelback Toyota. Whether true or not, my perception was that I had to be on my guard to keep from getting scammed. I had requested a detailed offer breakdown the day before my appointment so I could make a totally informed purchase decision. I didn't receive it, but it was handed to me when I arrived at my appointment. I emailed the day before my appointment asking if I could write a personal check - got no response. At our appointment, we were given the option to go get a cashier's check or write a personal check and agree to a temporary backup loan until the check cleared. At the moment, that sounded easier, but I didn't realize that it would make our paperwork more confusing and the process much longer. We had no intention of buying any warranty products - but felt forced to go thru the presentation in order to complete the sales transaction with a Finance Manager. It was a pain and we felt like we had to be on our guard not to be tricked into something. He made a strange inappropriate comment about illegal aliens, and made a political sounding comment about high interest rates and that "they will go down after this current administration". The registration and title process explanation was confusing. He checked the wrong box on the registration application saying that we did not want credit for the unused time on our old registration. Had to call MVD and take care of it myself later. When preparing the transaction detail, he acted surprised that the registration amount for approx. $700 something had been "left off"? Not sure what that meant but he said something like he'd need to enter it manually (or something)? Had the feeling that it may take some extra time to do? Then he seemed to have a great idea that he could correct the problem by adjusting the price of the truck and add the $1,000 warranty - or something like that?? It was all very confusing. This may have all been legit but it felt like he was trying to pull something to sell a warranty product. Felt slimy! After getting home I opened an envelope given to us with our credit check results and found a mysterious charge receipt for $5,000? I didn't recognize the account number but this was very concerning to me and I wondered if I'd been scammed somehow? I texted the manager the next morning but didn't hear back until late afternoon the next day. He apologized for handing us the wrong receipt and that he would forward the correct receipt. Not received until 5 days later. I was aware of the Zaktek paint protection being part of the deal and it was mentioned after my purchase offer was accepted. Then I learned that I would have to return to Camelback Toyota every 6-months to get a new application - for 3 years? After getting home I couldn't find any information about it. I live in Tucson and do not want to drive up for that every 6-months. That would be considerable time and mileage. After thinking about it, this felt like it is simply a ploy to get people to use Camelback service every 6 months. Feels like a way to make you think you're getting an extra $500 perk. I read that you can do a similar treatment yourself for pennies on the dollar. I was promised a full tank of gas which we didn't get. I noticed as we were leaving town that it was only 1/2 full. Again, did not make me feel like a valued customer. Mistake, or Camelback hoping we wouldn't notice? When back at home I found the "2023 Vehicle Delivery Checklist" in the glove box. I'm wondering why this wasn't mentioned and completed at the dealer?? We stopped nowhere on the way home. Upon arriving I found a noticeable abrasion of some kind on the hood (approx. 3 inches). After complaining about it, Camelback never got back to me about correcting the problem. Took care of it at a local shop on my own. I've been disappointed that it took 29 hours to get a response to my first email questions. A couple not until 5 days later. I was a bit stressed about that mystery receipt for $5,000, wondering what was going on? It took 6 days to receive my paperwork and detailed receipt showing everything included with the purchase? I had to ask twice. My purchase check cleared the bank the day after the purchase (Oct 31). Received a refund for the Zaktek and gas, but wondering what Camelback is willing to do to make up for my dissatisfaction? I got an initial email from the "Customer Relations Manager", then two unanswered. We played phone tag and she did not call the landline number I provided. Finally, I gave her two days to call anytime - no call. She had told me earlier that, "I will do my best to make myself available to speak with you." Guess that means never?? Planning to buy a Corolla in a few months, but it will not be at Camelback. read more

We were told by the salesperson (Brent) up ahead that the price was sticker and that there were no extra add on's. Prior to driving to Phoenix, we asked again and were told by Brent that there were no additional costs or added items. Sitting down to do the paperwork, that was not the case. He misrepresented what he told us in hopes that we would still buy the car with the 3 extra items and additional cost that was added to the sticker price. i do not recommend using this dealership for getting repairs done. I have been taking my truck there for five years. I'm the last six months they have told me I needed sparks plug changed amd then the next time I went in I didn't need them changed but I needed serviced done that previously had done and didn't need to do again for 20,000 miles. I went in because my truck was making a noise I was told I needed to leave my truck I told him I wasn't told that I was dropping it off at 4;00 and they close at 9:00 Michael B was extremely rude would not help me resolve the issues. The 4Runner community in the valley is a close one. Guys and gals will drive out with parts if someone is broken down. We also support quality dealership service and parts departments. In fact, a little goodwill will more than likely result in compounded business through this process. The opposite is also true. How cheap and foolish to deny a windshield replacement that was damaged under YOUR watch in YOUR service bay. Take pictures of your vehicle immediately before any service and make sure your advisor sees you do it. Better yet, avoid this service department completely due to unethical practices. Last week I visited 3 separate Toyota dealerships. First I ended up driving out to the one in Tempe/ Chandler. I reached out about a specific 4Runner and even checked the availability before driving all the way down there. Total waste of my time because it was not available. In fact , an employee picked it up from Tucson, knowing that he had already sold and still listed on the website. I hate when dealerships do this!! Catfishing a car is unethical and pathetic. The next dealership I drove to was in North Scottsdale. The guys were super aggressive. That's such a turn off for me. I even tried very hard to explain that I specifically do not want anything to do with a lease, they would not back down. Their loss! The aggressiveness about the leasing pushed me right out the door. Later I found out they are known for this. It's part of their training program to push leasing . Needless to say, I finally left knowing I had ZERO interest in purchasing a vehicle from the Scottsdale dealership. The next morning I checked out Camelback Toyota. I was introduced to Ralph. He was great. After discussing what I was looking for , he introduced me to Brent. We test drove a new 4Runner, and a few hours later I walked away with a new car. This has probably been my worst car buying experience and I have bought 5 cars. First when I contacted Camelback Toyota and asked about a white Prius I was told that it was in stock. I was already approved with my bank and had my loan approval. I went down there and was told that the car was in one of the sister stores. After some back and forth we agreed on the price and I decided to get the car. I had already put a security deposit for another Toyota and Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa but didn't like the color. I asked Ryan and Danya again if the car was available and told them that I was going to cancel my order with Earnhardt. "yes the car is available " they said. I signed some basic paperwork and was waiting for them to bring the car. 2 hours and 30 minutes and the sales rep "Danya" told me that it might be a little longer and I could go home and she would call me. Of course she didn't call me. Tomorrow morning I called and inquired about the car and was told that the manager of the other store was going to send the car to them but he was busy at the moment. I went there again and the sales rep told me that the car was sold since it's first come first served! So like that I canceled and lost my order with Earnhardt Toyota and I couldn't get a car with camelback Toyota. I was told by Camelback Toyota that there was a white one coming in few weeks. So I waited and went down there on the day and Danya told me that the car is being prepared and the windows are being tinted! "Cool" I said. This was 8am. We had some complications with the loan but I had Toyota run my credit to have a backup contract until I figured out my own financing. We were done around 2:30 pm or so with the finance person and asked Danya if the car was ready. She kept giving us the runaround and even Mike in finance was shocked that the car was not ready. We waited another hour and the car was not ready and then Ryan the manager came and told us that they would deliver the car and we could go home. OK! We went home and they delivered the car around 6 pm with NO window tint!! And NO spare key. She told me that they were going to mail the keys and I haven't received them after a month! WORST FIRST TIME BUYER EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! If it's your first time buying a car out of a big dealership please save your time, money, and effort and don't come here! I purchased a 2020 Camry pre-certified (used) from a Camelback Toyota about last month. The day I bought the vehicle I test drove it and I automatically fell in love with the car but the AC wasn't throwing cold air, I still love the car so I proceeded to buying it with the condition of them fixing the AC. They said yes it was only going to take a few hours and then I can take it home that same day. I bought the car I signed all the paperwork I went through the long process of waiting and signing a bunch of paperwork. Then after five hours of being there they tell me the car actually needs an AC part (they tell me this after I signed everything and bought the vehicle) I said that's fine just because I can't really undo everything I just did. Long story short I got the car on Wednesday NIGHT. I had taken my vehicle home around 8pm then the next day I noticed this big black stain on the Seat that wasn't there before when I test drove it. I immediately called my salesman to let him know the issue and he dead ass told me that " we were going to figure it out, and they're going to call me to fix it" I waited a week and nothing, so I decided to call him and He wouldn't pick up his phone, so I called the dealership and everyone was telling me different things just kind of avoiding me, everyone kept saying I had just had to talk to My salesman and I kept telling them he never answers so how am I supposed to fix it with him if he doesn't answer?! Anyways I go down to the dealership in person and it took me a long time to do this just because I live almost an hour away. But I went to the dealership I had to go to one of the managers so that my problem can actually be fixed, he took a look at it and said they were going to call me back when the piece would get there because they were going to replace that fabric. The problem is barely being fixed which I completely understand and I'm trying to be patient here. But there's ANOTHER problem besides the whole seat thing. I was also supposed to get two key fobs for my car and I only got one, my salesman told me the last time I saw him in person (when I drove home with the car) said he was going to mail me the other key fob because they didn't have it in the dealership. Its been about a month and I still haven't received anything. I call every day and they just keep telling me I have to talk to him. It was just problem after problem with this dealership and I sincerely feel like my first experience from buying out of a big car dealership was just horrible. If I could take it back I would! If I have any advice to give to anyone it would be be very picky who you buy a car from, make sure you pick someone with enough experience to keep you happy and will actually solve your problems instead of their manager. read more

So we were driving home tonight and I get a call from Brent Harris and Camelback Toyota. Tells us that they are offering a lot of money on used Corolla's. We said what we owed and that the car had a small dent. He said no problem bring the car in. He can get us in a new Corolla or Camry with 1.9% financing since we paid on time over the last 12 months. Are payment would be the same or lower. Cool. He said he would be there until 9:00 tonight. We made an appointment for 5:15 PM. We walk in exactly at 5:15. We go to the front desk who starts calling around for us looking for Brent. 20 minutes later another salesman comes up to us to tell us Brent left for the day. Good show, Brent. When I went to get my car serviced this last time I was informed they had a glass company on site (Arrowhead) that could do the work for me. After picking up my car I eventually noticed a leak coming from the top and called to have it repaired. The man who came stated he "did the best he could" and to call the glass company with any other issues. When I went to look at the area (pictured) I was upset to find black sealant on my roof upholstery. When I tried to calling to discuss the issue with Toyota I was sent to a voicemail and have yet to be called back. We went to Camelback Toyota to find a used car during their liquidation sale. They were advertising that they had many used cars for under $10,000. We showed up in two separate cars and as we were coming out of the doors of our cars, two separate salesman approached us. Once they realized we were together they jokingly fought over who was going to help us. When they found out we were there for a used car instead of a new car, they both walked away. We finally found a used car sales rep, who took us inside and took the information of what we were looking for. He then disappeared for a good 45 minutes. He said he was going to show us three different cars. Never said what they were or gave us any information on them. It took another 20 minutes for him to pull one of the cars up. Mind you he did not show us any inventory or ask us what we would be interested in seeing, he just brought out cars. The first car he brought out was a Dodge Charger with 170,000 mi on it. We had said we wanted something with low mileage. Plus, it was not a very fuel efficient car. Then we sat for another half hour before he showed up with his " manager " who said he was there to help expedite the process since we had already been there for almost 2 hours. A half an hour later after we gave him the same exact information that we gave the other salesman, I had to chase him down as he was coming out of the bathroom and he said "oh they're bringing another car down for you." The car that they showed us was beat up, and very old. At that point my son just wanted to take his keys and go home. It was an extremely disappointing situation, and I thought everything was handled extremely poorly. How do you not show someone inventory instead of just pulling cars up willy-nilly? My daughter bought a car at Camelback Toyota and took it to them when she had a nail in her tire. Working around her schedule at her job, she dropped it off towards the end of the day for Camelback. She was told they couldn't get to it until the next morning. When she called the next day in the afternoon she was told it has been done. She called even later when she knew she would be off work, and they said it was done and they would call with an after-hours pickup time. She finally had to call regarding the after-hours pickup because they never called, and the gal answering the phone was super snotty saying, "Yeah, it'll have to be after hours because we close in two minutes." Then she's told just come down and the keys will be with the receptionist. She goes to pickup her car, and there are no keys at reception and when the receptionist tries to help her by calling someone, the receptionist gets chewed out for calling him. They looked around for the car since they had a second key, and found it, with the nail still in the tire! That's lousy service across the board in my book. This isn't what I was expecting to do, but it had to be done. First entering into Camelback Toyota, I was given really great service by my salesman and his manager. My family and I returned a total of 3 times because we were really happy with the service they provided us. However, the 3rd time we returned was to look at one specific car. After being in contact all morning and week with our sales guy, we made sure the car that we wanted was there before we headed over. We test drove the car and went to sit down, but then they came over to tell us the car was sold this morning. We were a little confused as I texted my salesman an hour prior making sure the car was still there and hadn't been sold yet. Comes back again 5 minutes later saying it was just sold... he tried to work with us and show us a different one, but the numbers on this one ended up being $4k higher than what they told us the last time we were there. They ended up telling us this is "the best they can do and the lowest they could go". We ended up speaking to the "manager" (I think his name was Mario), who happened to be this guy sitting at the computer, and also happened to be an ass of a man. He was the true definition of a sleazy salesman: someone who only cared about making a sale, not keeping a customer's business. He provided 0 help and kept on saying "I'm not sure why he would tell you that". Providing good business means not throwing your employees under the bus, and advocating for them, which is the complete opposite of what this guy did. Mind you, while this was happening, our salesman (who we've been in contact for the past month and created good relations with) was sitting there shaking his head to his coworker. The "manager" didn't seem like he was sorry, and didn't provide a solution to the issue that they caused. Everything that came out of his mouth sounded like excuses, and from that point on, we realized talking to him was like talking to a wall. We left, and will no longer be returning. My family and I returned not once, not twice but three times, hoping that they could provide us with great business. Instead, we ended up being extremely disappointed and felt disrespected. He told me even though my credit score was fine, that because I'd never financed a car I had to go through American Credit Acceptance with a 28% APR. I found out that was a complete lie. Then strongarmed me into an extended warranty, which didn't fix a single problem Ive had. And there's been numerous problems. Now I'm harassed by them trying to get me to come back and trade my car in..... never again will I step into their doors and I will continue to defer my friends and family from going there. read more

They replied publicly but never emailed me back. Get it together Toyota! So sad to write this review. I've purchased two 4Runners from this location, service warranty, the works. They're usually really great about EVERYTHING, until today. Two words: Brandon Whiteaker. I called two days prior to schedule an oil change. Expressed that I drive out of my way across town because I enjoy the service so much from this dealership and that I have a service warranty. He even went as far to confirm my service warranty while on the phone. I took time off from work, showed up early for my appointment only to have Brandon tell me that my warranty is apparently only good "every other visit" which has never been an issue the past three visits, that have all been covered. Mileage is still under 100k as well. This was a result of him not actually calling in the service warranty to double check while we were on the phone prior. I will change my oil, gear oil, brakes, rotors, you name it, just to avoid another unprofessional and disappointing encounter like that again. What a huge waste of my time. I bought a car from them a year ago, they kept spamming my phone to come in because of the new buyback program... on the phone they said they would get me in a new rav4 with the same payment I have, but reset the loan. And they would value my car 20% market value. When I walked in i soon found out all this was a lie. They didn't even have any new rav4s. They initially showed me a few used ones with twice as many miles as the car that I was trading in, but way more expansive. I had clearly stated I was interested in a new car if I was going to sell mine. Obviously no new RAV4s on the lot, but they had one with 9000 miles which was more expansive than a brand new one. The biggest shock was when they offered me 15k for a car I bought last year for 23k. I put less than 10k in miles, it's a 2020 cx5. It had 32k miles, now it has 41k. Long story short they wasted my time for an hour and a half until I had enough and asked for my car keys back. Please, please, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else to buy a car. My initial sales person was from Kuwait, and then his manager's name was Yas. Both using typical dirty car salesmen techniques by false advertising to get your foot in the door, and the waste your time and exhaust you until you hopefully agree to a horrible deal. Today I brought my car in to be serviced at 7am. I had an appointment to get my battery replaced because my Rav4 had been showing a message "battery charging". It took them almost 4 hours to get to back to me to tell me I have a dead battery. Which I knew already and told them when I pulled up. Another hour to replace it and get me out of there. I've never had great experiences here but this was by far the worst. read more

Just don't. I was forced to take my Rav4 hybrid here because I couldn't find the battery anywhere else in the valley. They did an inspection on my car and came back with almost 2K worth of work that needed to be done. Leaks that weren't there, brakes that didn't need replacing, and on and on. They wanted to charge me almost $500 to replace my battery. I negotiated it down to about $420, but then just ended up buying their battery and installing it myself. The total cost was less than $300. I took my car to Firestone to get an oil change, they did the same inspection and didn't find any of the things the dealership was trying to get away with.
