This is a service department specific review. I have taken my truck to Camelback Toyota a few times for various service and I will start with the good, Michelle the service advisor, is awesome. But my last two visits are summarized below, find somewhere else as in addition to charging stealership prices, their service department is not competent to get the job done. 1. Install new door latch - My truck had a failing door latch. I brought the part in for them to install, which they did for $350, which is insane in the first place. When I picked the truck up, the one of the trim pieces covering the door panel was missing and the door light lens was also cracked. Asked for those to be replaced and sitting here 5 months later, still missing the trim piece cover. In addition, the door is now not unlocking intermittently. When I brought it back, the service guy (not Michelle) told me the door handle needed to be replaced. The door worked just fine locking and unlocking previously, the only thing changed was their install of the new latch. I installed a new door handle myself and still having the issue, so the problem lies in their install of the door latch but I don't have the energy to deal with them again to make it right. Paid double for the dealership to install so I knew it was done right, but turns out that was a bad choice. 2. Brought a new OEM remote in for programming. They tried for over 4 hours and could not get the remote programmed. Ended up leaving with a 550 estimate for "additional troubleshooting". I worked with the supplier I bought the remote from and had it programmed by myself in 5 minutes. Silver living is Michelle did not charge me for the wasted troubleshooting labor. Basically, if there is another Toyota service department near you, I'd take there and avoid this place. read more

I do not recommend dealing with this dealership! Went over pre approved, made a deal, shook hands, started signing paperwork, and had leave but was going to return in a couple hours to finalize. Turns out, according to salesman, they were working a deal on this truck with another customer and it was available to me now. Not sure if this happens often , but regardless, it shouldn't and is very frustrating! I find it hard to believe that the financing department is not aware of this. First off Toyota makes great cars that work! However this dealership and service department are terrible in terms of customer service and price gouging. Their service department is very poor at selling you what you need at a fair price. Their service techs are way more focused at upselling rather than consulting. For example I changed my own power steering fluid and then brought my vehicle in for another service and then they call me back for a total fluid change which included power steering?? This tells me they didn't even look at the fluid to see if it was bad they just were seeing if I would authorize an upsell. I don't mind paying premium pricing for premium service. Unfortunately paying more for poorly trained service reps that are clearly thirsty for an upsell just doesn't sit well with me. Long story short I will look elsewhere for service and when I buy another car next year. read more

UPDATE 7.22 Only because Bryan and Cynthia are actual gods. Took my 4Runner back in today because of an issue and I had assumed it was under warranty. It ended up being a different issue but Bryan and Cynthia went well above and beyond to make sure I had the best customer service and that I was taken care of. Words to the wise: if you must go in here for service, ONLY ask for Bryan or Cynthia. Thank you guys! UPDATE: negative stars for their lack of response form their customer support department. They replied publicly but never emailed me back. Get it together Toyota! So sad to write this review. I've purchased two 4Runners from this location, service warranty, the works. They're usually really great about EVERYTHING, until today. Two words: Brandon Whiteaker. I called two days prior to schedule an oil change. Expressed that I drive out of my way across town because I enjoy the service so much from this dealership and that I have a service warranty. He even went as far to confirm my service warranty while on the phone. I took time off from work, showed up early for my appointment only to have Brandon tell me that my warranty is apparently only good "every other visit" which has never been an issue the past three visits, that have all been covered. Mileage is still under 100k as well. This was a result of him not actually calling in the service warranty to double check while we were on the phone prior. I will change my oil, gear oil, brakes, rotors, you name it, just to avoid another unprofessional and disappointing encounter like that again. What a huge waste of my time. Just don't. I was forced to take my Rav4 hybrid here because I couldn't find the battery anywhere else in the valley. They did an inspection on my car and came back with almost 2K worth of work that needed to be done. Leaks that weren't there, brakes that didn't need replacing, and on and on. They wanted to charge me almost $500 to replace my battery. I negotiated it down to about $420, but then just ended up buying their battery and installing it myself. The total cost was less than $300. I took my car to Firestone to get an oil change, they did the same inspection and didn't find any of the things the dealership was trying to get away with. Classic switch and bait! I had been emailing sales rep Archi through the day I regards to coming by after work to test drive a truck he confirmed was available. When I arrived, super unprofessional sales male.. started asking me questions with out giving me his name. It wasn't Archi. When Archi did speak to me, he told me they didn't have the truck. Still no tags/registration received. Last Friday, the 'Service Manager' calls to ask me to schedule appointment for an emissions test...........ON AN ELECTRIC CAR?!?!? Now, I am told my tags/registration will be here in another 5-10 business days. Trying to get rid of the car now and can't because I still don't have the registration. I had an recalled appointment for June 22nd,2024 @900am and they have sent me a reminder, so I felt very comfortable to respond to that appointment, when I shown up and they told me they don't have parts for my car which they have to order parts and reschedule me for the following Saturday which is June 29th, 2024 , during my appointment I was told by service adviser that he will let me know on Friday that he 's got parts or not...so I got no calls , no messaging, no emails so I don't think Camelback Toyota handle their services professionally ,,,, I don't understand why or may be I am Asian man and they try to show me that they are racism, that's fine I can go somewhere else that I might get better service. 1st time buying a new car... salesman was good and got me a great trade in and worked the numbers to where I could pay in full... tells me he can have car/paperwork delivered to my house with my intense work schedule... well last minute, he says I need to come into dealership to talk to financing and bring in my cashiers check... well it all went bad there. DANIELLE in finanacing made me feel forced to buy this extra protection plan at 9pm, that is very hard to get out of( I am finding out) and then LOSES my $18,000 cashiers check! I go home in my new car, and the next day, Danielle is blowing my phone up saying I NEVER GAVE HER THE CHECK ! Then text me saying I TOOK IT HOME! So insulting. She messed up big time and BLAMES ME. She placed it in my warranty info and I have integrity to give it back to them. I decided on Camelback Toyota because of Jenny Sanchez. She is dedicated and an attentive salesperson who answered all of the questions. She was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and a pleasure to work with. Jesse Lopez, Director, personally walked over to me and worked with me to ensure that I got what I wanted in a vehicle. We discussed price, rates and payments, and he new exactly the budget I was working with and I drove away with the car I wanted. I also had a great experience with Jon Farris who handled the paperwork and finance. Great guy and very helpful with ensuring I understood what was behind my monthly payments and all warranties. I don't know the circumstances for others who expressed disinterest in returning as a customer, but I recommend doing an assessment prior to showing up. I new exactly what my credit, my down payment was going to be and how much I wanted to pay. This made my whole experience move so much faster and I can honestly say that within two hours of meeting with Jenny, I had purchased my car with no issues and on my way. I just bought this car a month and a half ago, it's not possible it's gone. I went to go pick it up and my service advisor said it was $50 for a new oil cap, I said no and went to Autozone down the street to get an aftermarket oil cap. Worst possible experience ever and the worst way to treat a repeat customer. On June 10, 2021, I went to Toyota Camelback to purchase a vehicle. I had already had good experiences with CT as I had leased two vehicles and purchased another two with them. I had a salesperson take me around to a few vehicles and I settled on a pre-certified Toyota Corolla. I noticed the front bumper was slightly 'out' on the driver side and I questioned it - I was told they would 'fix' it. After three attempts to contact them and an in person visit, I finally got someone to 'fix' it and it looked fine. Time went on and all was fine. By middle of 2023, the front bumper began to tear on that side. I took it back to the dealer expecting them to fix it only to be told that it was 'too late' to have it covered and that I had purchased 'as is'. I then went out and purchased a new bumper at $800 only to have it do the same thing again as it was jutting out of the front of the car. I went back to CT and they said they could send it to their people to fix for around $1400 and I left. Well now it is 2024 and the bumper is all but falling off and after multiple calls to CT to speak to someone in charge - NO LUCK. I took the car to another mechanic that explained that I had no bumper clips and that the dealer should have told me that the bumper had no clips. He showed me where the dealer had basically GLUED that part of the bumper on, which, in time did not secure the bumper - NO CLIPS. He said part of the bracket for the clips was on the drivers side headlight and they should have told me before agreeing to take the car 'as is'. Now the bumper is barely hanging on and I should not have to have anyone else repair this at a cost to me as I was never told what CT did to the car. CT took advantage of a woman with no knowledge of cars and basically put a 'band aid' on a problem that should have been fixed being a pre-certified car and - on top of that - never divulging the problem with the bumper before I took it off the lot after they GLUED the bumper on! You would think that someone that leased and purchased several vehicles from them would treat their repeat customers with some respect and tell them UPFRONT that their is damage on the car that they DO NOT want to fix. "AS IS" implies that you know there is something wrong and that you CHOSE to accept the vehicle in said condition. That was not the case here. Next step is the Attorney General's Office and, if need be, small claims court. read more

Worst car buying experience ever. First of all the cars on Camelback Toyota website never are available on the lot. I purchased a Hyundai Santa Fe with a 1 year warranty on Memorial Day weekend, It took them 8 days to call me and tell me it didn't pass inspection. I went in again and test drove a car only to find out later it already had been sold. I purchased a Ford Explorer only to find out about 5 days later the motor was bad. At that point I demanded my money back. I have no problem with their service department but my experience with used car sales was horrible. read more

Overall my car purchase was fine, except I got highly pressured into purchasing add ons for my car I did not want, as well as something that got added on to my car they said was required, but I don't believe that, and they did not provide a cancellation form for it like they said they would. They also pressured me into buying the vehicle with all 4 wheels scratched, and multiple chips in the windshield, and then said they don't do/cover cosmetic items, so now I'll have to pay for those on my own, as I take pride in my vehicles and want them looking good at all times. Would I get my car serviced with them? Sure. Will I buy another car from the sales team again? Definitely not. Sales and Finance were both professional, however their sales tactics were very high pressure, and my multiple requests to consider repairing the cosmetic issues that were on the car when I bought it were refused, and I was again told not covered. Really poor experience. I wanted to take my trade in and go somewhere, as there's a provision in Arizona law that says I can, but nobody at the dealer made me aware of that. When I attempted to purchase they immediately tried to add $6k of dealership add ons (car isn't even delivered to dealership yet), a 15% mark up on their advertised price. Third car I went to buy, I spoke with the GM/owner who told me I was an "asshole" and no there is no dealer around that could make that deal I was asking even when I had the deal in my hand from another Toyota dealer. When the owner or GM are that rude to customers and using that language, I highly suggest a different dealership. His apology was "i will work on a deal to make up for it"...... he then proceeded to leave for the day and stick me with his other employees. there ended up being zero deal or discount. just a cheaper price because it was a cheaper car. This was my first car buying experience. I went in with no expectations, the market is crazy right now and I didn't expect to find my car at a dealership. I was trying to find a private seller to avoid overpaying. It's like the stars aligned the day I chose to walk into Camelback Toyota. I was quickly greeted by a sweet soul named Liam. He had a way of making me feel calm and in good hands, which I didn't expect at all. Being immediately greeted when we opened our car doors continued my skepticism around dealerships but Liam's calm and kind nature put me at ease instantly. The other dealership I had checked out was the complete opposite. It was a smaller dealership and the owner was short and uninterested in even saying hello when he walked up to me. I had to start and lead the conversation! Ugh. But with Camelback and Liam, I was able to let my guard down and ended up driving away in a car I could afford and am so proud to drive. Liam was new to the job but incredibly professional. I wouldn't have even known he was new to car sales all together had he not been open and vulnerable enough to talk about his own personal life with us. Incredibly kind, calming, professional, and 110% willing to work with me and my needs. We went over all my options and found buying over leasing was actually more affordable for me. He was able to work with the price to get my monthly payment closer to my actual goal and I never felt like I was being swindled or mislead. Liam was just real. That's all anyone should want when interacting with another human -- the simple truth. Someone unafraid to just be real, not just professionally but on a personal level as well. I've been purchasing cars for 20 years and this was one of the worst experiences. I called one afternoon and spoke with someone(who turned out to be a sales manager) about what I was looking for and interested in. He assured me they had something to fit my needs and so I made an appt to look and test drive. I arrive and am set up with a female salesperson. Which is fine, but she gave very vague answers to my questions and did not seem to know a lot about any aspect of the vehicle or the purchasing process. The first vehicle was nothing like what I'd discussed over the phone. So I had to go through the process again and finally found a trim and options I was happy with, the car drove great, etc. Then they told me to have a seat at one of the many tables on a big sales floor that looked like a cafeteria. The salesperson implied the 2020s would be on sale because the 2021 models will be arriving soon. So they gave me a written cost. Which was about 10,000 more that everything I'd learned online through research. Salesperson says she doesn't know anything about the numbers or the cost, gets sales manager, and within 2 minutes they come up with new numbers about 10,000 less. However after that experience I would not ever purchase there. If they could take that much off the price in 2 minutes, I feel bad for people who do not know any better. Scammers, liars, incompetent, terrible customer service, and these are polite words for the abysmal experience I have had buying a car from these crooks, specifically Isiah and Chris. Way undervalued for my trade in, ripped off price wise (intially told 15K but nowover18K), lied about being able to guarantee a cheap insurance price, didn't disclose that full coverage was required and lied stating it was the law, and had to purchase a steering wheel club lock in order togetany insurance as it is considered a theft risk. Missing a hubcap almost a month after purchase and they lied about ordering said part and only ordered today, trunk wouldn't open and service was reluctant to make an appointment, trunk was supposedly fixed but after opening and closing once the trunk won't open again. The list of complaints go on and on. Please beware and go elsewhere if you want good products or service, because you won't find it there! read more

From start to finish I have had a great experience at Camelback Toyota. The associates are attentive to COVID19 precautions, maintaining social distance and wearing masks. I was originally going to have my 2015 Corolla serviced when Steven Douglas from the sales department suggested I upgrade to a newer model. He was courteous and reasonable while assisting me and paid special attention to my concerns. He even made sure that I was taken care of for window tint and a minor cosmetic concern I had about my new vehicle. Chris from finance was wonderful, making my spouse and I laugh during the entire process. He has kept in contact about finalizing my loan and overall has been great help. Fast forward to my service appointment...Katreina was extremely helpful getting my car in and securing a rental while they keep my vehicle over the weekend. There was a male associate who helped finalize the rental, but I did not catch his name! He was also personable and deserves a shoutout. Getting a new vehicle and/or servicing a vehicle are some of my least favorite activities but Camelback Toyota has got it figured out. Thank you for all of your help! read more
